Seems like a long-winded way of supporting the traditional Republican position that well-connected American businesses have a right to a profitable business model. (In this case, selling crappy, over-priced cars.)

Because people who build crap that can't compete in a market (because they're more interested in profit than anything else, including reliability or efficiency) are exactly who you want building the hardware soldiers rely on for their lives and to defend our nation.
