This is an interesting hypothetical I've thought up. how would the map change if the GOP ticket was a black man and a woman of color and the Democratic ticket was two moderate Southerners? I'd also be interested in seeing a county map for this scenario if anyone would be interested in making one.

WV is very close but was too far-removed from Democrats for even Webb to win. All in all, 2012 trends largely stay put but large swaths of Appalachia actually do swing over to the Dems here

Webb I campaigned for and gave money too for his campaign, and he would have kicked Trump's butt in the electoral college.
