Gov. Henry McMaster is likely to run for a full second term in 2022 and win. He is a masterful tactician and accomplished resume in office. He probably won't lose reelection, even if SC's demographics are changing.

I think 2026 will be a year that South Carolina Democrats could potentially win the governorship for the first time since 1998 moderate Democrat Jim Hodges.

Who can win then?

The Republican nominee.

You don't think Bakari Sellers can win in 2026, the demographics of SC is changing like NC and GA.

They literally are not. In NC and GA, the non-white population is increasing.

In South Carolina, it is actually decreasing.

Speaking of McMaster: would he become the first SC Governor to serve 10 years by January 13th, 2027 ?
