Can you please stop acting like a Guju IT worker and have a tiny bit of class and knowledge when talking about cricket?

Because they made it to the World Cup in 2015, given that this only occurs every 4 years, another team should get a shot

I really am pulling for Afghanistan, though I obviously don’t expect much.

Also, LOL @ Pakistan hyping up their batting and getting all out for 105 on Day 2 at Nottingham of all grounds.

Imran asked the team to give 100%, and in true Pakistan fashion, they gave 105.  Tears of joy

Imam and Babar are world-class batsmen. Fakhar is explosive, and Sarfraz has the experience and temperament to anchor an innings. Pakistan won in 1992, the last time the World Cup was held with this format, with an unfancied team, following humilating early defeats, and they won the Champions Trophy in 2017 following a bad start too. Never count them out until it's over. Inshallah, they will bounce back from this like they have done in the past.

Note that the West Indies are also going through something of a mini-renaissance right now with world-class players in Shai Hope, Jason Holder, Andre Russell, and supreme talent in Oshane Thomas. Chris Gayle, despite his physical decline, can get them off to good starts. He loves playing in England.

Despite their batting being decent by Pakistan standards, they always will be a bowling team. Wahab, I feel, is just filler, and I think Faheem and Junaid would've been better, even if their form/fitness is perhaps not ideal. Wahab is still trading off that one spell to Shane Watson in 2015.

Bad thing: Afghanistan lost

Good thing: Afghanistan was more competitive than Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

South Africa decided that they can’t choke in the semis if they can’t get there. Wink

Ah yes, the sandpaper thing. Boy I can't wait to see everyone get enraged if we end up winning this.

Warner should not be playing full stop. Ever. Smith . ..  that's a more difficult one. Yes he should've stopped it, but I can't hold him at fault for much more than that. Warner was the guilty party in that and he got banned for twelve months, which i may add has copped a lot of criticism from several nations for being overly harsh (Du Plessis, Hershcelle Gibbs, Michael Vaughan, Harsha Bhogle, Manjrekar and Gautam Gambhir are on the record as saying that) and moreover, I find it interesting that when South Africa did ball tampering thing over here, they got a slap over the wrist because 'everyone does it'.

That last part is actually pretty amusing to me considering that South Africa was involved in three ball tampering incidents over three years, yet all they got, as said above, were slaps over the wrist.

More like we are all tired of Australia winning world cups over and over again. I mean they have won 4 of the last 5 and if they win this one it would be 5/6.

You guys also had an 8 year run where Australia totally dominated cricket in all formats cause you guys literally had a super team. Many of us started watching Cricket when Australia would routinely win matches like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ry_2Qvl2vE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK-Cv7xKjoQ

And that was routine for them from 99-07(They only lost two test series in that span , 01 to India and 05 to England and won all 3 world cups)

It's not really about the ball-tampering, it's because everyone has always hated Australia since forever. Yes, there is a bit of a Collingwood angle in that they're hated for their success, but they're also disliked for their players and fans' history of generally boorish behavior. It goes back to underarm and even earlier.

There are, of course, exceptions. Gilly is widely liked as a person, and players like Nathan Lyon or Tim Paine are some of the more likeable players of the current crop.

Similarly, there is a lot of hate towards India, but that's largely based on grievances about the BCCI's greed and its massive influence in the cricket world.

All I'll say is this: If you can't handle the heat, get out of the pan.
