I don't think it's a given that she'll challenge any of the above.

She runs for reelection in 2022 and if she wins she runs against Scott as she wouldn’t have to give up her job.

Fried is likely to wait until 2026 to seek the FL Governor's Mansion when DeSantis is term-limited (unless he becomes POTUS & Nunez is elevated to the Governorship).

DeSantis seems relatively popular, if his ratings fall maybe him but he could have a Crist 2006 win. In a Trump midterm she'd challenge Rubio, if it's a Dem President she'd wait and go to take out Rick Scott (it would be very hard to get me to more strongly root for the Democratic candidate in that case).

If I'm Fried, I'd stay put as FL Agriculture Commissioner & building up accomplishments in office to prepare for the FL Governor's Mansion in 2026.

Perhaps Rubio in another Trump midterm. Otherwise I don't see it.

If Trump reelected in 2020
She runs for reelection in 2022, wins and runs for Senator in 2024 and win against Scott

If Biden elected in 2020, reelected in 2024
She runs for reelection in 2022, wins and runs for Senator in 2024 and win against Scott

If Biden elected in 2020, retired in 2024, replaced by Democrat
She runs for reelection in 2022, wins and runs for Senator in 2024 and lose to Scott

If Biden elected in 2020, retired in 2024, replaced by Republican
She runs for reelection in 2022, wins and runs for Governor in 2026 and win

Sounds like DeSantis wants the White House badly in 2024.

Pence be dammed.

Neither. She’ll probably stick to reelection if she’s smart and then run in ‘26 for Governor. But don’t take my word as gospel on her. I didn’t know her name much less expect her to beat Caldwell last November. That race was a total sleeper, and her stealth campaign/low key style to me suggests she’s the cautious type.

I think part of the reason DeSantis is so relatively pro-weed is that he’s a) genuine, and b) smart enough to be prepared to outflank John Morgan.

It'd be smarter for her just to stay put. I don't think she has a great chance of winning a higher statewide office.

I've been saying she should wait until 2026 to seek the FL Governor's Mansion.

The FL Dems do need to get some psychological help on how to NOT choke in crunch time.

Eh, I wouldn’t write her off, I’d just say it’s too soon to pluck her from the vine.

She and Nicole Galloway will both wait until the second terms of their respective Governors expire and run for Governor in their states.

She runs for reelection in 2022 and if she wins she runs against Scott as she wouldn’t have to give up her job.

She WOULD have to give up her job if she ran in 2024.  The FL Constitution requires persons who are elected to local or state office to resign their position if they choose to run for another office, including a Federal office

The only exception to this are Elected Federal officials (House and Senate) that may run for Governor.

I'm predicting that Fried will be re-elected and then run for Governor in 2026 against whomever the GOP nominee is, as she will be term-limited.

He would be up in 2022, but Fried could run for re-election at that time.  If she were looking to move up, I'm sure that the state Dems would prefer she run against DeSantis.

I would suggest to those that look forward to Nikki Fried challenging Rubio, Scott, or DeSantis need to consider (A) that she does not cut a particularly high profile in Florida Politics right now, and (B) her position as Agriculture Commissioner, while quite influential, is one that involves a lot of administrative issues that do not cause a person to forge a notable platform from which to run for Governor as, say, the Atty General would have.  She's not well-known, and her victory was a stealth victory; it didn't make headlines and FL Democrats still act as if they didn't win anything in 2018 (when, in fact, they did elect their first statewide official since 2006).

Fried will likely

1.) Build up more accomplishments in office.

2.) Win reelection as FL Agriculture Commissioner in 2022.

3.) Wait for DeSantis to leave in 2026 & run for the FL Governor's Mansion against Nunez.

The problem for her is that if Biden wins next year she could very well lose in 2022

I do NOT see the Dems winning the Presidency in 2020.

she will only run for reelection if Trump is reelected, if a democrat wins in 2020 she would probably lose reelection anyways and may seek an escape hatch to remain politically viable (Think Alex Sink in 2010)

Probably Scott just because I'd expect her to run for re-election in 2022.

I didn’t know that. Thanks for the information.

In order to be reelected in 2022 she must pray that Trump is reelected in 2020

I went to pump gas the other day and they replaced the "FL AG commissioner Adam Putnam" sticker of inspections on each of the gas pumps with Nikki Fried ones, except unlike Putnam....every sticker has a big picture of her face taking up like half the sticker on like every pump in every gas station i go to.

This girl is smart. Retail politiking on point 👌 Future Governor probably
