JBE probably worked the best with an opposing legislature to get as much of his agenda passed as possible.

Probably Abbott in Texas - Texas is probably the single most successful and stably growing state right now, and they’ve had relatively few far-right crazies sponsoring insane bills that become (unconstitutional) law there. It seems like he’s managed to help spur sustainable growth and curtail the far right in his state and party, so good for him.

Cuomo had a GOP-controlled NY State Senate for the first 2 terms I believe.

Ah yes, because a governor who let the opposition party control the State Senate and even with a majority refuses to pass progressive legislation is effective...

I'll probably post another poll on former US State Governors: who was the most successful & who was the worst sometime over the weekend or next week.

I his first two terms, King Andy passed same sex marriage (in 2011, among the first), a university tuition bill that even Bernie spoke well of and tough gun control bills. He also enacted on-time budgets, a property tax cap and ethics reform. Not to mention his 100 day accomplishments in his third term. The guy is doing a fine job.

Coumo successfully engineered the R control of the State Senate for six more years. Why wouldn't that make him effective? Effective=/=good.

Most crypto-racist governor / Trump sycophant? Hahahaha! Yeah, I'm trolling, but I'm not going to stop Wink.

This is just sad to read

Thats more due to the house speaker not Abbot.

What can I say? Our values are just fundamentally incompatible. I wouldn't elect DeSantis dog-catcher — he's the sort of odious slimeball who winds up estranged from his children, caught doing god knows what in a roadside motel. Like Trump, I'm just not going to pretend I find anything about him laudable. I have no interest in living in your degenerate Trump-ville / Tannen-ville / Pottersville.
