Vietnam is more or less the same, but lacking his martyrdom that LBJ was able to leverage, Kennedy doesn't get as much done on civil rights. At least not in an election year. Counterculture emerges anyway against Vietnam, and Kennedy leaves office a very tired man with a reputation similar to LBJ's. With the Democrats not wanting to rock the boat, assuming limited federal action on desegregation, the ticket in 1968 has a northern liberal and a southern conservative (possibly George Wallace). The New Deal Coalition is retained that year, and the Democrat might be able to eek out a victory against Nixon. 1972 is a Republican sweep, possibly the beginning of the Reagan years. If Vietnam isn't resolved by then, he might escalate to force a ceasefire or use nuclear weapons on North Vietnam. Lots of potential for World War III in these 1970s given what was going on in the Middle East.
