Most high school students here generally tend to testify to a conservative lean in their generation. At the end of the day liberalism has gotten way too sanctimonious. That is the problem. Most young people just want to be free and enjoy life, not worry about offending someone's feeling all the time. It's not that conservatives aren't serious, but you can joke around. Conservatives start out with a normal perspective. Liberals start out with a super rigid framework. Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert made liberalism fun for Millennials, their shows ended in 2014.
The explanation for all of these "Generation Z is conservative!!!" takes is probably the racial and gender gap within the GenZ generation in the US. If you consider how brown GenZ is, the political views of a very white school is likely going to be atypical of the generation as a whole. People might be misinterpreting a certain amount of whitelash as representative of GenZers in general.
The other thing to take into account is that Atlas is, as it always has been, very heavily male (in addition to being heavily white) and while White Male Gen-Zers may be a bit more right-wing than White Male Millennials, that won't help the GOP with winning elections much as Gen-Z is much less white and I've seen no evidence that Gen-Z Females are to the right of Millennial Females.
