Meanwhile, at Kenyon College, Bill Watterson enrolls in an
environmental law class and loves the subject so much his previous
dream of being a political cartoonist fades away.

It's a dark day in America. Sad

It's pretty unrealistic.

Downunder ontop...and in the middle.

Kinds of highlights just how isolated Melbourne is...

That's the title of a great book by the late Christopher Hill that I encourage you all to read.

Well, Goldwater did consider pulling out; Scranton made a "middle" run in 1964.  We might have seen a Johnson v. Scranton race in 1964.  I'd still bet Johnson would pull it off.

Also the name of the song played by the Brits when Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown.

And, uh, it wasn't supposed to be extremely realistic...I went in with the list of Presidents I wanted and came out with that timeline.  (Of course, I could tell you that real history is pretty darn unrealistic as well...)

If it were realistic, it would have happened in reality, so I don't see the problem in that. Tongue

I really liked this version. Hillary would still be a Goldwater Girl if Bill hadn't shown her the light. The only things I was wondering about is what happened to Jimmy Carter, since all the other real life Presidents except GW and Ford were mentioned here. Jerry Brown kind of came out of nowhere, I'm not sure how much of an influence he ever could have been.

And unless I'm mistaken, Johnson would have done well in 1964, since he would've still had the Solid South (not sure if the Civil Rights Act was included in your scenario) and he was doing a good enough job that many normally Republican North/Midwesterners still would have supported him.

Having George McGovern as President...........priceless Smiley
