Did a press secretary ever run for office before?

I'm pleasantly surprised that no Dem hack has said she'd make it competitive.

If anything she'd increase Republican margins given her being the daughter of a former Governor and the connection to the Trump administration.

The down-ballot statewide officeholders are rolling their eyes at this as we speak, I do NOT see her doing it.
The only office holder in Arkansas that consistently shows ambition is the AG but she I see her running for senate when Bozeman retires.

Leslie Rutledge is actually the first Republican to occupy that position. I find that mind-blowing, just like finding out that Patrick Leahy is the first Democratic senator from Vermont.

*Leahy is still the only Democrat Vermont has elected to the Senate

(Sanders and Jeffords, while caucusing with the party have never been members)

She's almost certainly running but no announcement for another couple of years. Griffin is already in and Rutledge will probably run. Local media suggests state senate president pro tem Jim Hendren (Hutchinson's nephew) might run also.

What a strange office to run for though. Isn't Boozman a two-term pledger and old anyway? Why not go for Senate then? She's clearly more interested in national issues.

idk I'd much rather be a governor than a senator.

I agree. Because why would anyone want to work in DC in this climate?

Omg Josh Duggar the molester and her brother the dog killer should do a campaign ad for her.
Really? I’m as pro-dog as anybody, but comparing killing a dying dog to child molestation is a step too far, IMO.

Hutchinson has been a dynasty,  AR, is a red state, she should be Gov and see nothing wrong with it
