Curious what the results would be for the forum at large.

At the (small) company I work for we start at about 10 and end around 6:30-7:30 (daily web meetings with workers in Asia are why we end late).  It seems kind of late but this seems not too atypical for the Bay.  How about for all of you?

1pm-10pm most days. Though it changes from time to time where I'll work 10am-6pm or 4am-12pm.

Either around 9 (sometimes stretching to 9:30) to around 5:30, or else 6:45 until some time after 3. It varies pretty widely, but often I have to prepare for 7:45 meetings for about an hour beforehand. Today was 6:45 until 4:45.

Usually I'm starting at about 8:15 a.m. in the office and finish work on 5:15 p.m. One hour for lunch (12 to 1 p.m. that I mostly spend with my boss and a colleague). From Monday to Friday; plus 30 days/year paid vacation.

I work in sales and I have a salary and commission so I usually show up early and leave late. The extra work is usually worth it making an average of 20 sales a week can get me 100,000 a year

Roughly 9:30 to 7:00 on average. I'd like to push those starting hours earlier if possible but I've failed majorly to do that long term because probably once a week you end up there until 9 or 10 and it destroys everything.

12:45 to 9:15PM. I'm a closer. (We close at 9 but closers stick around to 9:15 to handle any straggling literal last minute callers.)

My schedule is never the same, so I couldn't vote. For example, this is my schedule for my current work week (Sat-Fri).

12:30pm-07:00pm | Saturday
09:30am-06:00pm | Sunday
12:30pm-09:00pm | Monday
Off Tuesday & Wednesday
09:30am-06:00pm | Thursday
12:30pm-09:00pm | Friday (plus 08:45am-12:30pm mandatory meeting)

I'm also starting my graduate program on Tuesday this week.

They used to be really crazy, since I got paid a salary and basically just had to get the work done while also being in school full time. Sometimes I would leave the office at like, 2 or 3 AM after working for like 10 hours. Or when I was working at home I'd basically just be working every free second around my school schedule.

Now they're more normal though, I go into my office at roughly 7 AM and get off around 5-6 PM or so.

The town I work in is weird. Everywhere other town I've spent a lot of time in seems to get going at like, 8 or 9 AM and what you can consider "rush hour" is at like 5 PM but in the town I work in everyone gets to work at 7 AM and "rush hour" is more like at 4 PM. I've wondered if it's because we're near a time zone boundary or if it's because of the large amount of older people here, but who knows really.

Two overnights a week I start work between 9pm and 11pm and stay until anywhere between 8am and 11am. Depending on day and circumstances.

If you think that sounds rough...

The remainder of my schedule is flopped between AM and PM shifts. I am the only one at my work place who consistently works all three shifts. Often within the same week!

I hope it's because you're the "new guy" or were hired specifically to cover those shifts and not because they hate you.

No. Someone has to cover the two overnight shifts each week and I know every position in the department so my other shifts are inevitably mixed. Plus I go out of town a lot so I have to make some concession.
