This. It actually ranks rather low in terms of fast food restaurants I would most like to eat at on any given day. It runs behind most burger joints other than Burger King, but even then Cane's chicken is superior. Chick-fil-A is still better than KFC, though.

Pretty good overall, but not sure if it's the best fast food restaurant.

Their chicken patty is one of the better ones out there, but their "spicy" sandwich is not spicy; it is actually less spicy than both Wendy's and BK's spicy chicken sandwich.  It is even less spicy than the Hot N Spicy McChicken from McDonald's back in the day (not offered everywhere, I believe it was just a regional item).  Their breakfast is good though, particularly the bowl, and their chicken noodle soup is also good.

The best thing about Chick Fil A might be that their restaurants tend to be, on average, cleaner and better decorated than a lot of fast food restaurants.  Wendy's actually started that trend 30 years ago when they realized that normal lighting and carpeting was more aesthetically pleasing than how, e.g., McDonald's used to look in the 80s.  Wendy's has since modernized their look from that, but they were the ones that really started this trend.  A lot of places have caught up on this though.

Chick Fil A's biggest problem is that they handled the transition from being a mall food-court restaurant to being a standalone restaurant with increased popularity, with mixed results.  Drive thru lines are often unacceptably long there, sometimes 30 minutes.  It is highly variable based on location and what staff you get.  To their credit, they have added features to help this, such as multiple lines and multiple cashiers that walk the lines taking orders with tablets.  But even then, Chick Fil A often still has some of the slowest drive thru service of any fast food restaurant in the country.

Cane's and KFC are great if you're shooting for a 30+ BMI. Chick-Fil-A's great advantage over literally everywhere else is its grilled chicken and salads.

FR on balance, but their menu options are more limited and portion sizes smaller than most fast food restaurants.  It is also relatively expensive for fast food.

Ignoring the whole homophobia elephant in the room that is honestly kind of irrelevant now, I always loved their waffle fries, but never really cared for their chicken. I'm of a mixed opinion.

Food is delicious, their owners' politics are not.  I'm sure there are many employees who don't have the same views about gays as the owners do, so not fair to blame the entire company.

A homophobic purveyor of delicious chicken sandwiches. - Vox

I must set the record straight folks. While they firmly believe, as do I, that marriage is between one man and one woman as determined by G-d, they treat the lgbt community with better respect than what most leftists are willing to give them in return. Having been part of the Chick-fil-A family for the past 2 years has been quite liberating to better serve the churches I’ve attended since. Working 45-50 hours a week is worth having Sunday off.

They only opened one location in Vegas last year (funny how all these christian companies seem to take their time opening locations in sin city 🤔 ), but it’s in a part of town I rarely go to and when I do either the lines are too long or it’s closed for Bible Day.

I toyed with the idea of boycotting it, but (a) that’s dumb, and (b) they already lost the war.

The war won’t be over until Jesus himself returns

I wouldn't think well of a fast food restaurant that managed to become a culture war shibboleth somehow no matter which side it was on.

I will say that I recently unfollowed someone on social media for saying that Pete Buttigieg, an out gay man married to another man, is a homophobe for eating there.

Great food, but screw their anti-LGBT views.
