It is a mix of both but what do you think was a larger factor:

I think it was the prosecution and the police for :

- Trying on the Glove on OJ in court

- Not including the statements he gave to the police when he was a suspect (Which Vincent Bugliosi said was very incriminating  )

- Mark Fuhrman committing perjury

- Vincent Bugliosi also said they didnt use the Ford Bronco Chase either

Both, in that Johnnie Cochran won by making the prosecution lose.

Tough to say, but I think the latter.  If I was the prosecution, I would've wanted OJ to take the witness stand.  Now, he could've refused to testify....but I would've at least attempted to get him under oath.

I have a hard time blaming the prosecution for the fact that Fuhrman was so directly involved in the case, plus the defense's obfuscations were legendary.

This. Prosecution still have to be perfect, but defenses are one by funny at least one major problem in the investigation for evidence when one of the prosecution's major Witnesses was discovered to brag about framing black people for crimes, and then got caught lying about such statements on the witness stand, things ain't going to be good.
