Of living people, Clinton is actually second to Gore for most lifetime electoral votes, for obvious reasons.

Imagine Gore won both 2000 and reelection in 2004. He might be the number 2 or 3 in American history after FDR (2013 electoral votes from 1920, 1932, 1936, 1940 and 1944) and Nixon (1939 electoral votes from 1952, 1956, 1960, 1968 and 1972).

Joe Biden could overtake Gore if he wins next year and even further should he become a two-termer.
