Lindsey Graham Campaign Press Release

RE: 2004 Campaign Decision
September 3rd, 2003
Represenative Graham Campaign

Over the past month, while surveying the field of presidential candidates, Congressman Graham has looked at what his next path is. After eight successful years of President Powell, Congressman Graham wants to continue his success and was considering the best way to do this. Congressman Graham floated many ideas but he knew that the best way to continue conservative success is by putting a strong conservative in the White House and someone willing to support President Powell while also putting forward new ideas. While surveying the field, he sees a lack of what he believes the next president needs to be to continue that conservative success which is why he started to consider a run for the presidency within the last few months. He reached his decision on the next possible path and its a bid for the presidency. Congressman Graham believes he is the strong conservative voice needed in Washington to continue the successes of the last eight years and continue to defend the United States from radical terrorist. With his conservative status and hawkish policies, he believes he can not only stand out in the race but win the race even as he lacks name recognition. Congressman Graham will make sure to reach out to every voter to win this race because it won't be easy when he's running against some of the biggest names in the country but with dedication and a strong message, Graham can win.

Congressman Lindsey Graham will announce his presidential run at his former college of the University of South Carolina on September 9th, 2003 alongside a special endorsement. Along with announcing his bid in Colombia, South Carolina, he will also open his national headquarters later this month in Greenwood, South Carolina. Graham is betting heavily on his home state of South Carolina to create a boost in support before Super Tuesday but he also hopes to do well or win other early states such as Iowa and Missouri who have a tendency of voting for conservative and hawkish politicians. Congressman Graham is also pleased to announce his current campaign staff which includes, John Weaver serving as chief strategist and pollster, Nicole Wallace serving as communications director and Caroline Wren will serve as chief financial officer.
