Because we believe in having good infrastructure, an educated citizenry, Fire, police, etc. New Jersey is the senses populated state, so naturally we pay a bit more.

I wanna know why people would want to live in low-tax states where the roads are crumbling, businesses are fleeing, and social progress is at a standstill (or going backwards).

Texas is one of the best states in the nation

Texas is a dump run by oil barons, was one long before any of us were born, and will remain one long after the youngest posters are dead.

We have many family friends who live there and they all say the economy their is booming

And it is getting more liberal day by day.

Missing the point , GOP 25 year dominance of Texas is a major  reason why it is so prosperous today

Attracting yuppie jet-setters with cheap labor (largely through illegal immigration) is much of the reason why Texas is a dump. Texas suburbs drag everyone else down.

The suburbs are why Texas is so great
