They don't. New Jersey's political system is intransigently, almost inherently corrupt and lethargic. The voters have attempted to stage tax revolts numerous times, but neither party is actually interested in limiting or cutting spending. Democrats are the tax-and-spend party while Republicans are the bond-and-spend party.

I seriously am beginning to think the solution is to have the state annexed into Pennsylvania or New York.
