If interest rates are such a meaningful indicator of the stance of monetary policy, then why do they have a positive correlation with market expectations of inflation??

We will see in a few years. Perhaps we can just print as much money as we want or maybe there will be a big reckoning. I'd really hope this is right. A helicopter based fiscal policy would mean ice cream and cake for everyone!

They aren’t, and inflation should be zero.
