From what I know, isn't Darkseid the outright most powerful villain in DC canon? I honestly don't know much about comics, but through osmosis I remember learning once that the same isn't true of Thanos, there are others more powerful than him. But I don't know who. So Darkseid wins, I guess.

If they went head-to-head, then Darkseid would absolutely wreck Thanos, unless Thanos had the Infinity Gauntlet, in which case Darkseid would win if he got the drop on Thanos & shot off an Omega Beam before Thanos managed to wipe him out of existence.
