Brett Baier : "Welcome back to our coverage, everyone. Currently, it is 8 PM in the Ast and the polls for the Democratic Primary in Delaware has just closed."

Martha MacCullum : "Currently, in Delaware, Merkley has a 3% lead over Duckworth, a surprising start for the Democrats tonight due to Duckworth's consistent lead in the state in recent polling, but with only 1% in, I think it can be said that this result will change."

Brett Baier : "Meanwhile, in South Carolina for the Republicans, Governor Rodriguez is maintaining his lead, with him now having 52% of the vote to Noem's 30 %, and Vice President Rubio's 18%. Remembering that this is Winner takes all means that Rodriguez could and very likely win all of South Carolina's Delegates tonight with a victory in the state. We just need at least half of the results in to make that prediction, however."

South Carolina Republican Primary - 25 % Reporting

Ivan Rodriguez : 52 %
Kristi Noem : 30 %
Marco Rubio : 18 %

Delaware Democratic Primary - >1% Reporting

Jeff Merkley : 48 %
Tammy Duckworth : 45 %

Brett Baier : "Welcome back to our coverage, everyone. Currently, it is 8:30 PM and we have more news to report on the Primaries in South Carolina for the Republicans and in Delaware for the Democrats."

Martha MacCullum : "In South Carolina, we can project that Puerto Rico Governor Ivan Rodriguez will win all 80 Delegates and hold an overwhelming share of the vote in the state of South Carolina. While there is still plenty of vote left to be count, it doesn't look like he will lose his lead. This strong performance has now launched the Governor to the front of the delegate count in the Republican Primaries, with him having 95 Delegates to Rubio's 25 and Noem's 18. A very impressive win for someone who was originally not given a chance at the start of the race."

Brett Baier : "As for the Democrats in Delaware, we can report that Senator Duckworth now has a 14 pt lead over Merkley now that some more results have come in. However, there are many thinking that there will be another close state for the Democrats tonight. We'll come at you later when even more interesting results have come in."

South Carolina Republican Primary - 50 % Reporting

Ivan Rodriguez : 62 % ✔ (80 Delegates)
Kristi Noem : 27 %

Delaware Democratic Primary - 25 % Reporting

Tammy Duckworth : 55 %
Jeff Merkley : 41 %
Andrew Cuomo : 4 %

Martha MacCullum : "Welcome back everyone. It is currently 9:30 PM and we have a report that with 75 % of the vote in, Merkley now has a 1.3% lead over Duckworth after the Illinois Senator has been leading him for most of the night. There is some belief these results will likely change by 10 PM when all the results have been counted but until then, we'll continue to be reporting upon these results."

Delaware Democratic Primary - 75 % Reporting

Jeff Merkley : 48.5 %
Tammy Duckworth : 47.2 %
Andrew Cuomo : 4.3 %

Brett Baier : "And we have returned with the final results of the night with Senator Duckworth having pulled a 4.6% victory over Merkley in Delaware with her 49.7 %, his 45.1 % and Cuomo's 5.2 %. This sees the State's 27 Delegates be split with 14 going to Duckworth and 13 to Merkley. This sees Duckworth become tied with Merkley in the Delegate count with both having 47. A very interesting night for all."

Ivan Rodriguez victory speech
*The crowd yells Pudge and I-Rod*

Source:Star Telegram

Thank you very much today we sent a message to Washington and the party and people that just because you are the longshot candidate doesn’t mean you can’t win!  But this is just only the beginning I like to thank the people out in South Carolina who knocked on the doors and text and called out to people and we’re able to get out the vote though whatever means such as door to door, phone calls text messages and social media.

I like to thank the people that gave me the opportunity and time in this state to give my platform and ideas such as how we should fix our healthcare, paying down the national debt, fixing our roads and broken infrastructure. Expanding our mission into space and how we can save social security.

Thank you god bless and good night!

Rodriguez runs away with South Carolina; Duckworth barely wins Delaware

On February 24th, the staes of South Carolina and Delaware for the Republican and Democratic Parties respectfully, with Puerto Rico Governor Ivan Rodriguez pulling off a massive win in South Carolina, skyrocketing him to the top of the Republican field in terms of the Delegate Count while Illinois Senator barely won in Delaware, leading to a tied count for the Democrats once again. The failure to get 15 % of the vote has convinced New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to drop out.

Road to Super Tuesday

On March 5th, a vast majority of states will decide who to support at the convention. For the Republicans,  Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas , California, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia will hold their primaries while for the Democrats, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia will decide. On the way there, on February 27th, Delaware will vote for the Republicans while on February 29th, South Carolina will vote for the Democrats.

Analysts have pointed out that Rubio's support in the Republicans stick with more establishment and coastal states, such as Virginia, California, and New York, while Rodriguez dominates in the south and Noem remains a challenge in the plains. At the same time, for the Democrats, Merkley has gathered a strong coalition in the coast, but Duckworth remains popular in the rust belt and the upper south as well as the plains. Thus, it looks like the 2024 Super Tuesday Primaries will be one to be watched for the ages.

Bobby Rush, Ted Yoho, Greg Pence, Andy Harris, and Don Bacon to announce retirements, four more House Special Elections

Due to various reasons, another 4 House Elections will be called in FL-03, IL-01, IN-06, MD-01, and NE-02.

House Minority Leader Andre Carson Suffers heart Attack, Considers resignation from the House

After a massive Heart Attack on March 3rd, House Minority Leader Andre Carson (IN-07) is considering retirement from the House of Representatives. While his district would likely be held by the Democrats should he do so, his retirement could see the ascension of House Minority Whip Eric Swawell (CA-25) as the Leader of the Party in the House.

AL-02, CT-05, IL-08, LA-05, NE-01, OK-02, RI-AL, and SC-01 to hold Special Elections on Super Tuesday's night

On March fifth, AL-02, CT-05, IL-08, LA-05, NE-01, OK-02, RI-AL, and SC-01 will hold special elections to determine who will become their next Representatives. IL-08 has already been deemed as safe by the Democrats while the Republicans see LA-05, NE-01, and OK-02 as safe for them. The swing seats are determined to be Alabama's 2nd, where Republican State Representative Wes Allen leads Democratic State Representative Kelvin Lawrence by 3.2 %, in Connecticut's 5th, where Democratic State Representative Geraldo Reyes Jr. leads Republican State Representative Richard A. Smith by 1.7 %, Rhode Island's At-Large District where State Representative and Minority Leader of the Rhode Island State House Blake Filippi leads Democratic Newport Mayor Jamie Bova by 0.3 %, and in South Carolina's First District, where Former Democratic Congressman Joe Cunningham is in a dead even race against Republican State Representative Nancy Mace.

John Coghill, Paul TenHaken, and  enter Senate

In order to fill Vacancies in the Senate left by the tragic deaths of Senators Don Young and John Thune, John Coghill and Paul TenHaken have been appointed to replace them.

President Trump releases Shortlist to replace Breyer on Supreme Court, Merkley leads effort to filibuster nomination, Republican Senators Rick Scott of Florida and Mitt Romney of Utah pledge to support Fillibuster

On March 1st, President Trump announced that he was going to release a shortlist to replace the late Associate Justice Breyer on the Supreme Court and thus he did so, with the candidates being Third District Court Judge Thomas Hardiman, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Conservative Political Commentator Ben Shapiro, United States Attorney General John Ratcliffe, Former New Jersey Governor and United States Solicitor General Chris Christie, Florida Senator Pam Bondi, Fourth District Judge Julius Richardson, Tenth District Court Judge Joel Carson, Former Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, Nevada Governor Adam Laxalt, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, Former Montana Governor Steve Bullock with the three most likely choices being Cruz, Shapiro, and Ratcliffe.

At the same time, Oregon Senator and 2024 Democratic Presidential Candidate Jeff Merkley has announced a plan to filibuster any nomination that President Trump makes and half of the Democratic Senators have agreed to support the plan as well as Republican Senators Rick Scott and Mitt Romney. In response, President tweeted out that they were traitors and Senate Majority Leader Joni Ernst, who has stated that any filibuster of the supreme court appointments will not be tolerated, has threatened to cast them out from the party should they support Merkley's filibuster. Trump will declare his nomination on March 10th.

Marco Rubio's post-South Carolina primary speech

Thank you, South Carolina!

Of course, these are not the results we would have liked to have but the race is not over.

Those results show that Americans want a more civilized campaign and that's what we're going to give in the next few days, weeks and months. We're going to moderate the tone in this campaign by staying focused on issues, policy and solutions. But believe me, if any of the other campaigns ever attack us, I will fight back. Some people reproached us for getting everything for granted as if we already had the nomination. Let me be very clear : we are not taking anything for granted and that's why we are fighting for every single vote because every single vote counts in order to decide the next President. That's why we're going to Delaware in order to tell people why our agenda is the best one for America's future and to spread my message of opportunity through small government, lower taxes, free enterprise, strong infrastructure, fair health care, defense of our constitutional rights and strong national defense and national security. We're going to win there and build up strong momentum for Super Tuesday and thus lead us to victory in this primary race and in the general election for the sake of the continuation of America's greatness, strength and progress.

Thank you. God bless you. God bless South Carolina and God bless America.

Marco Rubio's TV Ad

In an effort to win among voters who want a strong leader in their next President and who are concerned about America’s national security, Marco Rubio's presidential campaign broadcasts an ad about Rubio's leadership and plan to keep America safe and to ensure long-term global peace and the positions he has taken following the recent world crises such as the War in Kurdistan and the annexing of Istanbul by Greece.

Title : Decisions

Marco Rubio's campaign schedule, Part 1

(Own creation)

February 25, 2024
-Campaign in Wilmington, Delaware
-Economic policy speech in Wilmington, Delaware :

Source : https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/cuban-heritage-could-boost-marco-rubio-in-florida
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 have been proven to be successful in growing the economy and I am proud to have supported the tax cuts. And I’m also proud to have led the effort to double the Child Tax Credit from $1000 to $2000 in order to make the tax cuts permanent and even broader and to strengthen American hard working families’ purchasing power. It was also an important part of my platform that I promised to achieve when I ran in 2016, and just a year later that’s exactly what we did. It also shows how much I know how to get things done. Thanks to these tax reform policies, we strengthened America’s status as the best place in the world to do business, encouraged economic growth, created over 7 million new jobs in the last 8 years, brought a record low unemployment rate in more than 50 years. Those constructive policies brought the Hispanic unemployment rate and the African-American unemployment rate at their lowest rates ever. As a result, Hispanics and African-Americans are also benefiting from the Trump tax cuts and from the economic prosperity that it delivered. And I’m proud to have, as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, fought to defend the interests of American small businesses, to keep taxes low and to create the conditions favorable to free enterprise, economic growth, job creation and prosperity. As a result, the economy is booming, including here in Delaware where the unemployment rate went from 4.6 % in January 2017 to 3 % today thanks to the promotion of free enterprise, small government and tax reform.

The Democrats want you to believe that we have deficit and debt because of tax cuts. They are wrong. The right solution to reduce the deficit is to encourage economic growth and job creation and thus that requires lowering taxes because there's nothing better for getting us to a balanced budget than having more people working, earning more money, paying more taxes. So my friends, the reason we have deficit and debt is not because we cut taxes in order to spur the economy. The reason we have deficit and debt is because Congress keeps spending and that’s why we need to stop out-of-control spending, we need term limits in Congress, we need to pass a balanced budget amendment, veto bridge-to-nowhere projects, veto earmarks and encourage fiscal discipline and responsibility in order to reduce government spending and balance the budget. That’s exactly what I’m going to do as President of the United States in order to bring spending under control, to bring our deficit and our debt under control and reduce them and get us to a balanced budget. That way, we will guarantee prosperity and opportunity for all Americans through a balanced budget and tax reform and that’s how we’re going to get this country to full-employment and we’re going to make sure that America’s status as the strongest economy in the world will remain uncontested. I have the right knowledge, record and agenda to do so and that’s why I ask for your vote.

Thank you. God bless you and God bless America.

As you know, agriculture is one of the main economic sectors in Delaware. Delaware’s agricultural output consists of poultry, nursery, stock, soybeans, dairy products and beans. My friends, in the last 8 years, we made strong progress in getting our economy, including our agricultural industry, rolling again. In 2019, in the context of the U.S.-China Trade War, our President went on to cut a deal with and Beijing, during a joint summit, on that issue as both nations agreed to lift tariffs with China halting to steal IPs and the United States stopping to use Chinese citizens for cheap labor abroad, thus ending the trade war, which helped farmers across this country, including here in Delaware, to recover and to further reinforce their competition.

Under my presidency, we’re going to do even more on this issue to make sure our farmers will earn a chance to rise and prosper. In that process, I will reduce taxes and regulations for businesses across this nation, including for agricultural businesses, to help them to innovate and to manufacture more tractors and seeds and other farm products, which will boost job creation, improve agricultural technologies, ensure America's subsistence, reduce the food prices through the reduction of inflation and reduce Americans' dependence on food stamps, which will reinforce their purchasing power and give them more access to food. We will approve agricultural subsidies in order to help agricultural communities to recover from the trade war and to strengthen farm businesses’ ability to compete and produce. I will also champion free trade, which will lower tariffs and increase exports and imports and increase access to our products, including farm and agricultural products, for 95 % of the world market (as we represent 5 % of the world market). And finally, our plan will cut ag property taxes in order to grant farmers the opportunity to earn the property of farm lands and to pursue their activities for the sake of their food needs and their quest for the American Dream. Our farm industry is a major pillar of our economy and as long as our agricultural industry is strong, America’s economy is strong. As long as America is the best business-friendly country in the world, this nation will be the best place for farmers to pursue their agricultural activities and will be the best place for everyday Americans to fill their food needs.

-Space policy speech at the Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware where Vice-President Rubio unveils further details about his space policy agenda. He declared that along with the exploration of Titan and Mars, he will also prioritize Artemis Program’s Lunar Gateway, a project of space station that is planned to be crewed (4 astronauts) and to operate in lunar orbit before establishing a manned base on the Moon’s surface in 2028 to offer a staging post and a springboard for missions to the Moon and Mars, which will make America’s objective to launch a manned space mission to Mars by 2030 possible. As the funds for that program have not yet been approved by the Congress, Rubio promises to make it happen rapidly by favoring public-private partnerships to fund that project, thus making sure that the establishment of the proposed lunar base will be accomplished by the end of Rubio’s first term as President and that the United States will be the first country to send a crewed mission to Mars and to further relaunch America’s space program. The Rubio campaign reiterated that plan in TV ads broadcasted in Delaware, California, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, Florida and Ohio.

The assassination of Senator John Thune is a terrible tragedy. The FBI’s investigation provided the following report about the murderer’s background : the Boko Haram terrorist who killed Senator Thune last week has been a secret agent planted within the U.S. territory in late 2007 with the mission of targeting a major US political figure if given the chance. And it was reported a few years later that he was on the US list for Department but he never was and his document was lost.

This attack that occurred last week and contributed to Senator Thune’s death demonstrates that radical Islamic terrorism is still a threat to America, to our security, to our freedom and to our citizens. That’s why, in order to make sure that the United States doesn’t again get attacked by Boko Haram or any other terrorist group or criminal organization, we need strong and secured borders, not open borders. And that means building a wall, which we have done, and also technology and infrastructure as well as boots on the ground, background checks on refugees coming to this country and establishing a E-Verify system. And I’m the only one of the presidential candidates in this election cycle, Republican or Democrat, who supported this President on this agenda. Keeping America safe against terrorism also requires keeping our military strong and modernizing it and standing with our allies. And that’s why, under a Rubio Administration, we will provide our Western African allies in military training and in materials, which will help them to defeat Boko Haram. We also need to target Boko Haram-controlled oil refineries through drone airstrikes in order to deprive them of revenues from their oil drilling activities to fund their war effort as well as their plans of terrorist attacks. That way, we will destroy our enemies without needing to send additional troops there, keep America safe and strong and guarantee a strong and stabilized long-term global peace through strength thanks to the preservation of American leadership. I have all the necessary foreign policy expertise and background to get us there and America needs that kind of qualification in order to get all of this done and for this I need your vote and your support to get our country to victory and peace.

Thank you. God bless you all and God bless the United States of America.

FOURTH REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY DEBATE

Location : University of Houston, Houston, Texas

Date : February  26th, 2024

Moderators : Criag Melvin and Katy Tur of MSNBC.

Melvin : Hello and welcome everyone to the second to last Republican Debate live at the University of Houston, Houston, Texas. I’m one of your moderates tonight, Craig Melvin of MSNBC.

Tur : And I’m Katy Tur of MSNBC. The Rules for this debate is simple : The Candidates tonight are given several questions that they must answer within 90 seconds or less. A Candidate will have 45 seconds to respond if they’re directly mentioned in a candidate’s answer. We ask the Audience to not cheer and yell so the Candidates can focus. Now, let’s meet the Candidates.

Melvin : First to the stage is Winner of the New Hampshire Primary, Vice President, and Party Frontrunner Marco Rubio of Florida.

Tur : Next is Winner of the South Carolina Primary and Puerto Rico Governor Ivan Rodriguez.

Melvin : Finally, there is Winner of the Iowa Caucuses and South Dakota Governor Krisiti Noem.

Quote
Opening Statements :

General Question #1 : On March 5th, the following congressional districts will hold special elections : AL-02 (State Representative Wes Allen (R) v State Representative Kelvin Lawrence (D)), CT-05 (State Representative Richard A. Smith (R) v State Representative Geraldo Reyes Jr. (D)), IL-08 (State Representative Tom Morrison (R) v State Representative Michelle Mussman (D)), LA-05 ( Former United States Representative Ralph Abraham (R) v Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo (D)), NE-01 (State Legislator Lynne Walz (R) v State Legislator Matt Hansen (D)), OK-02 (State Representative Dustin Roberts (R) v State Representative Ben Loring (D)), RI-AL (State Representative and Minority Leader of the Rhode Island State House Blake Filippi (R) v Newport Mayor Jamie Bova (D)), and SC-01 (State Representative Nancy Mace (R) v Former United States Representative Joe Cunningham (D)). The Districts of Alabama 2nd, Connecticut 5th, and South Carolina 1st are concerning to the Republican Party while Louisiana 5th, Nebraska 1st, and Oklahoma 2nd are considered safe Republican. Rhode Island At-Large seems to be the only special election that looks like it could be going Republican. Which districts will you campaign and which do you believe you can allow to not campaign in?

General Question #2 : In a few weeks, the proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution will have a vote held in the Senate and later, in the House. This proposed amendment will introduce Congressional Term Limits and Age Restrictions without a grandfather clause. There is also the potential of the creation of a 29th and 30th Amendments by Missouri Senator Josh Hawley for the former and Kansas Senator Kris Kobach for the latter. The potential 29th Amendment will make it clear that the Electoral College is the way the United States determines who it’s presidents shall be and cannot be removed or overturned. The amendment will also end the potential of Faithless Electors, meaning that if a candidate wins a state, then every elector of those states or districts will have to vote for the candidate that won. The 30th amendment is stated by Senator Kobach to be about the Supreme Court and the Presidency. The Amendment could possibly include the capping of the United States Supreme Court Justices at nine with the end of the potential of court packing, A justice will be able to serve for as long as they please, and a Justice can only be impeached by a 3/4ths yes vote in both chambers of Congress. This last one will also be extended to the Presidency, ensuring that Partisanship will not overtake what should be a bipartisan process. What do each of you think about these potential amendments and which of them would you support the most if you were in Congress?

General Question #3 : Recently in the Middle East, Operation Ceasefire has ground to a halt as Turkish Forces have created a number of defenses that will be used to slow down Coalition forces. There are signs of Russian and even Chinese troops and weaponry being deployed in Turkey as well. There is also the report of what happened in Constantinople. However, President Trump has yet to have intervened and there are even reports that should anyone suggest such a thing in his cabinet, they’ll be fired. Reason for this is the President wants his final few years left in office to be peaceful with no US Military engaged in War. How do you feel about the President’s actions and the situation in Turkey? What would you do differently?

General Question #4 : Recently, on February 18th, Supreme Court Associate Justice Steven Breyer died, leading to President Trump declaring a week of mourning before he introduced his shortlist of potential replacements. Recently, he did just that, with the top candidates of that shortlist being Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Political Commentator and your former opponent Ben Shapiro, and Attorney General John Ratcliffe. At the same time, Oregon Senator and Democratic Presidential Candidate Jeff Merkley has threatened a filibuster on the hearings of Trump’s choice, leading to Senate Majority Leader Joni Ernst of Iowa has stated that such an action will not be tolerated. Despite this, Florida Senator Rick Scott and Utah Senator Mitt Romney have indicated they will be in favor of a filibuster even if it meant they would be cast out of the party. Which of Trump’s top choices do you prefer and what do you think of the actions in the Senate on this issue?

General Question #5 : Recently, Former Senate Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota was killed by a Boko Haram terrorist that had been active in the United States since 2007. Do you believe the death of the former Senator is just cause for more military intervention in Africa?

General Question #6 : Recently, a movement has began to spring up across the country called the Electoral College for Governors which seeks to replace the State Popular Vote system for Gubernatorial Elections per state to an electoral college system based on the counties. Recently, such movements have been signed into law by Governors Bill Lee of Texas, Ron DeSantis of Florida, Gregg Abbott of Texas, and several others. However, Democrats have attacked this movement, calling it Partisan and undemocratic. Are you in favor of Governor Elections being determined by the Popular Vote or an Electoral College system?

General Question #7 : I want you to look at your opponents and take note of their actions during this campaign. I want you to think about the thing they’re best at. Now that you’ve had a chance to think about that, if there was to be potential unity in the party following this primary, what cabinet positions would you give to your opponents?

Marco Rubio Question #1 : Mr. Vice President, you have been noticeably taking a very negative approach to campaigning in a year where it seems most Americans are sick of Partisanship and anger. Recently, following your landslide loss in South Carolina, you have indicated that you’ll be taking a more positive approach to the campaign. While that is indeed commendable, there are still many questions, the biggest of which being, how long will you continue this streak and will you ever attack your opponents again?

Marco Rubio Question #2 : Mr. Vice President, it is clear you and President Donald Trump disagree on mostly foreign policy. While you believe in a more interventionist approach, along with the neoconservatives of the party, President Trump and his supporters believe in isolationism. This has caused a divide between your supporters and the Presidents, with many saying you hijacked the Vice Presidency to further your own political career. How do you feel about these accusations and what will you do to dispel them?

Ivan Rodriguez Question #1 : Governor, First of All, Congratulations on winning the South Carolina Primary. Now, onto the first question. With your victory in South Carolina, you have recently skyrocketed to the lead across the country, having comfortable leads over your opponents, with the most noticeable leads being in Alabama (+33% Rodriguez), Arkansas (+29% Rodriguez), and Tennessee (+23% Rodriguez). However, there are still some concerns about your policy stances and many refuse to call you a true conservative. How do you hope to prove those people wrong?

Ivan Rodriguez Question #2 : Recently, you have supported the idea of giving Puerto Rico Statehood, a position that is unpopular among your territory at large (39% in favor to 54% Against). Furthermore, there are indications that you’d be giving the Democrats, the opposing Party to the Republicans, a safe 7 extra electoral votes while costing Republican States their own electoral votes. How do you feel about this situation?

Kristi Noem Question #1 : Governor, you have been relatively absent on the campaign trail since your victory in Iowa and because of that, you’re standing in the polls have crumbled. Can you explain this absence and how do you promise to continue to campaign?

Kristi Noem Question #2 : Governor, you were expected to appoint a replacement to Senator Thune but your lack of doing anything has lead to the state legislature to vote for Paul TenHaken to replace him instead. Can you explain the reasoning for this?

Closing Statement : Now, this closing statement will be different from the previous ones. On February 27th, the Republicans of Delaware will go to their local polling centers and support the Candidate they like the most. Furthermore, Republicans in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia will choose who to support at the convention on March 5th. This your last time to state why you believe the voters of these states should support and vote for you. All of you have 60 second on the clock.

Tur : and that’s the debate.

Melvin  : We hope you enjoyed tonight’s debate and we encourage you to tune in to the the coverage of the Republican Primary in Delaware Tomorrow and the Fourth Democratic Debate 2 days from now.. Thank you and Good Night.

Holt : And I’m Desi Anwar, also from CNN.The rules are simple : The Candidates tonight are given several questions that they must answer within 90 seconds or less. A Candidate will have 45 seconds to respond if they’re directly mentioned in a candidate’s answer. We ask the Audience to not cheer and yell so the Candidates can focus. Quote
Opening Statements :

General Question #1 : All seven of the general questions for this debate will be similar to the Republican Debate, but with a request of the Democratic Perspective of these situations. As such, please answer as honestly and openly as you can. On March 5th, the Same day that Super Tuesday happens, there will be 9 Special House Elections happening as well. There are 4 key races on that night with each one being a potential pickup/hold for the Democrats or Republicans. Which Districts will you campaign in and why?

General Question #2 : The proposed 28th Amendment has gained a lot of steam and traction in recent months and the proposed 29th and 30th Amendments are also gaining steam in conservative circles. What are your thoughts on each of these three potential amendments?

General Question #3 : What are your thoughts on the situation in Turkey due to Operation Ceasefire? How would you handle it as President?

General Question #4 : The death of Justice Breyer has brought upon the fear of a filibuster. Would you be in support of such a thing and why?

General Question #5 : Thoughts on the death of former Senate Majority Leader John Thune? Do you believe his assassination warrants intervention in Africa?

General Question #6 : The Electoral College for Governors movement has gained a lot of animosity by Democrats, yet several state legislatures and Governors have already approved of the reform and signed them into law, ready for them to take effect in 2025. How do you feel about the ECG movement?

General Question #7 : I want you to take a look at each other. I want both of you to think about what the other is best at. Now that you’ve had time to think, in order to unite the party, should you win, what position would you give the other in the cabinet as President?

Tammy Duckworth Question #1 : Senator, your recent wins in Iowa and Delaware have given you enough momentum to push forwards. However, you have been recently lagging behind Senator Merkley in several polls. How do you feel about the situation your currently in and what will you do to improve it? An add-on to this is your silence on the debate about rather a filibuster should be introduced or shouldn’t be. How do you feel about the situation in the Senate?

Tammy Duckworth Question #2 : Senator, you recently introduced your plan for Criminal Justice Reform should you be elected President. However, another plan you proposed, the Working Families Act was recently shut down by a Republican Congress and concerns have been raised about whether or not you’ll be able to deal with a Congress controlled by the GOP during your administration.

Jeff Merkley Question #1 : Senator, your recent victory in New Hampshire has given you a boost in momentum, however criticism has reached you that you should drop out before the primary becomes too contested. How do you feel about these calls and what would you do about them?

Jeff Merkley Question #2 : Senator, you are the leader of a potential filibuster against President Trump’s supreme court nominee to replace the late Justice Breyer. Why do you plan to lead such a move and do you believe it’ll succeed?

Closing Statement : Now, this closing statement will be different from the previous ones. On February 29th, the Democrats of South Carolina will go to their local polling centers and support the Candidate they like the most. On March 5th, the Democrats of Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia This your last time to state why you believe the voters of these states should support and vote for you. All of you have 60 second on the clock.

Acosta : And that’s the debate.

Anwar : We hope you enjoyed tonight’s debate and we hope you tune in for the coverage of South Carolina Democratic Primary Tomorrow  and the coverage of Super Tuesday on March 5th. Thank you and good night.

Marco Rubio's campaign schedule, Part 2

(Own creation)

February 28, 2024
-Campaign in New York City, NY with Rudy Giuliani
-Rally with voters at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY for a speech given by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani :

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Rudy_Giuliani.jpg
Thank you, New York for welcoming my friend, a great American and the next President of the United States of America, Marco Antonio Rubio!

I know that he is the best qualified and the most experienced presidential candidate to serve as President of the United States and Commander-in-Chief and to keep America prosperous and safe and that he has the best agenda for America’s future. I’m a living proof of that matter of fact.

As Mayor of New York City, I turned that great and wonderful city from the crime capital of America to the safest large city in America. What I did for New York City, Marco Rubio will do for America!

Here is how we managed to drastically reduce crime rate and ensured strong security here during my time as Mayor of New York City : I directed the New York City Police Department to aggressively pursue enterprises linked to organized crime, such as the Fulton Fish Market and the Javits Center on the West Side (Gambino crime family). By breaking mob control of solid waste removal, the city was able to save businesses over $600 million. One of the 2 major factors to this overall decline in crime in my city is because my municipal administration approved federal funding of an additional 7,000 police officers. As a result, the crime rate in New York City fell even more in the 1990s and 2000s than nationwide and therefore credit is given to a local dynamic: highly focused policing. In this view, as much as half of the reduction in crime in New York in the 1990s, and almost all in the 2000s, is due to policing. And during this time, murders inside the home, which could not be prevented by more police officers, decreased at the same rate as murders outside the home.

Donald Trump and Marco Rubio brought that kind of leadership by securing our borders through the completion of President Trump’s border wall, the deployment of additional police officers and soldiers to the US-Mexico border, the approval of body armors for sheriffs and highly focused policing around the country. As President, Marco Rubio will pursue that progress by keeping our borders secured, cracking down on opioid traffickers to combat the Opioid Crisis and by encouraging highly focused policing.

The second major factor of this impressive strengthening of security and to the remarkable decline of crime rate in New York City under my tenure as Mayor there is an improvement of the national economy, including right here in New York. We have made that possible because we promoted opportunity. We made that possible because during my 7 years as Mayor, I cut taxes 23 times, and thus we encouraged job creation by making New York City a place open for business, cutting our unemployment rate by half (from 10 % in 1993 to 5 % in 2001) and brought in 450,000 new jobs. When I became Mayor, I inherited a $2.3 billion deficit from my predecessor, David Dinkins. During my first term, we cut taxes, cut spending, and reduced the municipal payroll, thereby closing the budget gap. By my second term, the upward swing of the mid-late 1990s dot-com bubble, which especially benefited New York's financial sector, resulted in greatly increased tax revenues for the city; soon there was a budget surplus of $3 billion.

Marco knows how to keep this economy growing because he made such contributions throughout his career : he cosponsored the AGREE Act, a bill that increased tax credits and exemptions for companies investing in R & D, equipment and other capital, gave tax credits for veterans opening a business franchise. He introduced the co-sponsored the Regulation Costs to Small Businesses Act which required the Small Business Administration to conduct an annual study to estimate the total cost of regulations on small businesses, thus avoiding devastating regulations that would have meant a disaster for our economy through free enterprise's decline and job losses. In 2017, he led the effort to make the Trump tax cuts permanent and even broader by increasing the Child Tax Credit from $1000-$2000. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Marco Rubio took strong leadership in protecting the interests of American businesses seeking competition here and abroad by passing legislation that lowered taxes for small businesses, defended the interests of American companies here and abroad, ensuring economic growth and development around this country and made America's prosperity possible and strong. And thanks to the free enterprise, tax-cut and low taxes policies promoted by President Trump and Vice-President Rubio, we created 7 million new jobs in the last 8 years, brought our national unemployment rate at its  lowest in more than 50 years. As President, Marco Rubio will pursue those tax reform policies, reduce taxes for all Americans, including the middle class, reduce wasteful government spending and promote fiscal discipline, balance the budget in the next 4 years, reduce our corporate tax rate to 15 %, get us to energy independence by taking advantage of America's sources of energy (including oil, gas, coal, solar, wind, hydroelectric energies), promote free trade with our allies for the sake of America's competitiveness in the world economy and he will remove barriers to public-private partnerships to fund infrastructure projects and will also ensure further infrastructure development through a part of future budget surpluses thus encouraging economic activities and the implantation of new businesses here in this country. That’s how we will bring America to full-employment, to a balanced budget, to the preservation of America’s status as the best country in the world to do business and to permanent economic prosperity, which will also reinforce security all across the United States and further reduce crime rate through such promotion of opportunity.

And under my tenure as Mayor of New York City, this wonderful city suffered one of the most terrible tragedies in history : on September 11th 2001, Al Qaeda committed the deadliest attack on our country when 2 planes controlled by radical Islamic terrorists hit the World Trade Center, killing 3000 people. In the aftermath of 9/11, I ordered authorities to close tunnels as a precautionary measure and as we organized the support of state and federal authorities for the World Trade Center site, for citywide anti-terrorist measures, and for restoration of destroyed infrastructure. Since then, we rebuilt the World Trade Center on the same site, which so many, including me, consider as a victory of life over death. Since then, strong progress has been made to combat terrorism as we declared war on terror and used military force against radical Islamic terrorism, we defeated Al Qaeda and ISIS in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, etc. and we eliminated Osama Bin Laden and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. A year-and-a-half ago, Boko Haram orchestrated a terrorist attack against our people in San Francisco through a suicide car bomb attack on a tramway and a shooting, killing 42 people and wounding 76 before being shot by local police officers. And more recently, Senate Majority Leader John Thune has been assassinated by a Boko Haram djihadist who infiltrated this country 17 years ago as a sleeper agent with the mission of targeting a major US political figure. That’s why we and our allies took military action against Boko Haram in West Africa where we are leading airstrikes against them and training regional armed forces to help them defeat this threat. And what strikes me as beyond the pale is that even shortly after Senator Thune’s assassination, the Democrats, including Tammy Duckworth and Jeff Merkley, did not address that issue, not even once. They did not put forward any plan to defeat the terrorist threat and in their fear to be politically incorrect, they are still afraid to use the words « radical Islamic terrorism » to define our enemy. With Marco Rubio as President, we will not surrender to terrorism and he will keep us on offense against Boko Haram. As a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and as Vice-President of the United States, he knows what it takes to defeat terrorism and keep America safe. He will do so by keeping our military strong and modernizing it and standing with our allies. He will provide our Western African allies in military training and in materials to prepare them to face Boko Haram. And he will also promote drone airstrikes on key Boko Haram targets in order to combat them without needing to send additional troops there. And finally, he will take on Boko Haram’s oil refineries to deprive them of any means to fund their war effort through the exploitation of those refineries. That way, we will finally win the War on Terror and ensure that the United States of America will not get attacked again by djihadists, which is key to strong global peace and security. That’s why Marco Rubio deserves our support and our trust because he has the best knowledge and agenda to get us to peace through strength.

As you may have noticed, every Republican presidential candidate that I endorsed in the last 20 plus years has went on to win the New York Republican primary and to become the eventual Republican presidential nominee (Giuliani endorsed George W. Bush in 2000, John McCain in 2008, Mitt Romney in 2012 and Donald Trump in 2016). New York, you can once again make the difference in this race and decide of the outcome of this Republican presidential primary race. So New York, I call on you to go to the polls at the highest number possible in order to make Marco Rubio the next President of the United States of America because I know that he will be a great and exceptional President and that he will preserve and strengthen America’s promise and status as a shining city on the hill and a beacon of freedom that inspires and will keep inspiring the world.

Thank you all! God bless New York, God bless the United States of America!

https://www.rubio.senate.gov/public/

Our argument is a strong one : we are supporters of American free enterprise system which makes it easier for people to prosper and to live the American Dream. We have to make the connection with limited government and free enterprise. My parents worked every single day to work to give me and my siblings opportunities that they didn't have. There's only one economic system in the world that that's possible in time and again and that's the American free enterprise system. Through my leadership as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, I understand that free enterprise and tax reform are the right solutions for the economic concerns of all Americans, including Hispanics.

I'm proud to be the first Hispanic Vice-President in US history. My record, background and agenda are the main factors why I represent our party's best chance to appeal among Hispanic voters. In my 2 senate runs, I managed to win around 50 % of the Hispanic vote in Florida. My vice-presidential nomination in 2020 helped President Trump and our party to drastically improve his performance among Hispanic voters, raising it from 29 % in 2016 to 37 % in 2020. That's why we're going to win crucial states like Florida, Nevada, Colorado and New Mexico and keep states like Texas and Arizona bright, bright red if I'm the Republican nominee. And that will be a great honor for me to serve as America's first Hispanic President to show that this country is a land where everything is possible for all Americans.

Gracias, que Dios los bendiga y que Dios bendiga a Estados Unidos de America.

Thank you. I’m glad to be back here at the Reagan Library. I’m proud to be a child of the Reagan Revolution and to have grown up in this area. One of the things that made Ronald Reagan a great President is that he believed in America and inspired that country to believe in itself and in its greatness again in a time of crisis and afterwards. He did cutting taxes and the size of government, which drastically reduced inflation and our unemployment rate, created 16 million jobs and strengthened our GDP. He also did that by rebuilding our military, which preserved America’s status as the strongest military in the world, kept America safe and free and led us to victory against the Soviet Union in the Cold War, which was a massive victory on communism and tyranny. President Trump and I followed those principles by cutting taxes and spending, which gave us the lowest unemployment rate in 5 decades, and by strengthening and modernizing our military and restoring American leadership, which helped us to defeat ISIS in the Middle East and to get North Korea and Iran denuclearized. And I’m running for President to pursue America’s progress by continuing that legacy of sticking to principles and to what we believe in no matter what and standing up for prosperity through free enterprise and small government as well as peace through strength like President Reagan and President Trump did for the sake of the permanent preservation of America’s freedom, values, security and greatness.

Ivan Rodriguez releases healthcare plan

Governor Ivan Rodriguez today has released his official healthcare plan in a speech in Reno Nevada which he plays to fight for to get in his first 100 days.

Rodriguez’s bill, called the American Heath Recovery would allow people to buy health insurance across state lines, long a Republican health policy goal. It would also repeal most of the existing taxes and regulations of Obamacare and would undo much of the law, and make  the insurance marketplaces and subsidies to help people afford coverage and more competitive.

His plan would provide tax credits to help people buy insurance among state lines while at the same time providing funding to fix Medicare and Medicaid with no cuts.

He also wants to Reform FDA to approve foreign drugs faster and be able to take on Big Pharma and end existing corporate subsidies to drug companies.

Ivan trusts you & your doctors to control your health care not the government.

Merkley 2024

February 25th: Merkley campaigned in Nevada on union rights and support of workers. He also declares he would lead a filibuster of any attempt to nominate a new Supreme Court Justice, citing that the GOP themselves had set a precedent for refusing to appoint judges in an election year.

"It was in 2016 when President Obama watned to appoint Merrick Garland, a credible centrist with an impeccable record, to the Supreme Court. This was a choice approved of by the vast majority of legal scholars throughout the country, and yet the Republicans decided to filibuster the nomination.

I and my colleagues in the Senate will use the precedent set by the Republican Party to prevent the confirmation of another Justice to the Supreme Court. We must wait for the will of the people to be made known in November."

February 26-28: Mekley, accompanied by Senator Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Joe Kennedy, campaigned extensively in Massachusetts, hoping to build on Warren's support and Kennedy's political machine in the state. He also formally endorsed Kennedy in his Senate race and appeared at a rally for him.

February 29: The Senator headed south to campaign in South Carolina, where he hopes for another primary win to solidfy his base and continue to build his progressive coalition further. he would also attempt to broaden his appeal to black voters, unveiling plans to invest further in black neighbourhoods and create more job opportunities

March 1-3: Merkley campaigned in new York with the state Attorney-General Bill De Blasio and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. His big issue in New York, as ever, was infrastructure. He touted the Rebuild America Act as the first step in modernising New York's electrictiy grid and transport network, as well as creating thousands of good-paying jobs and furthering the state's transition to renewable energy.

March 4-5: For the final days before Super Tuesday, Merkley planted himself in California. Though unlikely to in, He wanted to at least make it close. He also kicked the powerful machines of the AFL-CIO and Working Families Party into high gear, having them campaign among working class and minority voters in all states possible. It's hoped that these two organisations can close a perceived gap in Super Tuesday and beyond.

This year, America made strong progress in space exploration. In the last 8 years, our Administration has made the relaunch of our space exploration program one of its top priorities. As a result, through Artemis 2, we sent, 2 months ago, a crewed mission to the Moon for the first time in 50 years and those men and women walked on the Moon and explored it and were safely brought back to the Earth, making this mission a success and reviving our space exploration program.

Right now, our next objective is Mars, which is why the NASA is planning to put in place a base on the Moon in the next 4 years to use it as a staging post for missions to the Moon and Mars. So as President of the United States, I will make Lunar Gateway my top priority in terms of space exploration. We'll do it by preventing wasteful earmarks from diverting precious resources from critical scientific and aeronautics research. We will commit to funding the Artemis program to ensure it has the resources it needs for human space exploration. We will also encourage public-private partnerships to fund that project, thus making sure that the establishment of a manned base on the Moon’s surface will be accomplished by the end of my first term, which will give us a springboard to a crewed mission to Mars and guarantee that the accomplishment of our objective to send astronauts to Mars by 2030 will be fulfilled and that the United States will be the first country to do so, which, as Neil Armstrong would say, will be one small step for a man or a woman, but one giant leap for mankind.

Thank you. God bless you and God bless America.

President Trump has declared that he will announce his pick to replace Stephen Breyer at the SCOTUS, which will add another conservative voice in favor of the defense of the American people’s constitutional rights and freedom. The Democrats made it clear that they will try their best to block any SCOTUS nomination that President Trump will put forward. While Senator Merkley talks about at which point Merrick Garland was in some way qualified for SCOTUS, I wonder why Merkley’s harsh supporter Bernie Sanders has said during his 2016 campaign that he would withdraw Garland as SCOTUS nominee.

But the fact is that we have the necessary votes in the Senate to approve any potential SCOTUS nominee that President Trump will appoint. We have a 53-47 Republican majority in the Senate and I’m sure that we can convince Senators Scott and Romney to shift their voting intentions on Trump’s SCOTUS nominee because the stakes are too high to let the Democrats standing in the way of freedom. The stakes are too high to let the Democrats impose to America a liberal SCOTUS that will write the Second Amendment out of the Bill of Rights, tolerate abortion and award Guantanamo terrorists with constitutional rights. After all, in 2018, Rand Paul has first made it clear that he would not support Mike Pompeo’s nomination as Secretary of State but then he shifted his vote and supported it. And even if the Senate vote comes to a 50-50 deadlock on the SCOTUS nominee, as Vice-President I’m the President of the Senate and so I will cast the 51st vote needed to break the tie and approve whoever President Trump nominates for SCOTUS for the sake of the defense of your constitutional rights, of the protection of unborn lives, of the preservation of freedom of religion, etc. And when I’m President, I will pursue this fight to protect those inviolable rights because all the freedoms and opportunities that the Constitution offers is what America’s future is all about.

Recently, Operation Ceasefire has ground to a halt as Turkish Forces have created a number of defenses to slow down Coalition forces. In addition, it is reported that Russian and Chinese troops and weaponry are being deployed in Turkey to support Erdogan’s troops. Now, both sides are stick at trench warfare.

Here’s what needs to be done and also what I would do as President in order to ensure the Coalition’s victory over Turkish troops : number one, imposing an embargo on Turkish oil to weaken their economy as oil is a major pillar of the Turkish economy and to diminish their military power as their military power like every modern military mostly function through oil, thus helping our Middle Eastern allies to defeat the Turkish troops; number two, sanctionning any weaponry supply to Turkey; number three, getting our Greek allies deploying some of their warships from Constantinople to the Black Sea in order to intercept any Russian ship attempting to provide weaponry to Turkey, which will deprive Turkey of any war effort; number four, providing the Kurds in weaponry to help them defeat their enemies thanks to the military techniques of the first military power in the world (the United States of America); and number five, convincing India to involve in weaponry provision, military training and intelligence support for the Kurds due to India’s membership in the Tehran Pact and due to Turkey’s support to Pakistan and to the terrorist organizations state-sponsored by Pakistan, thus helping the Coalition forces to overpower Turkish troops thanks contributions from the 4th military power in the world and to counter the power of Russian and Chinese troops present in Turkey. That is the kind of leadership that needs to be followed in order to make Operation Ceasefire successful, help our allies to defeat the Turkish troops and bring Erdogan to the negotiating table and lead to the recognition of Kurdistan as an independent and sovereign country for the sake of freedom, justice and stability in the Middle East.

What Ivan Rodriguez did part 1

Ivan campaigned in Florida Virgina and the rest of the southeast on healthcare and foreign policy and free trade on the idea of “protecting and growing the American economy”

Ivan also stated that he would in a tariff free way be able to help ease US China trade relations and help the move of China becoming more free trade friendly.

Tammy Duckworth Campaign Schedule

Source

February 24-25th:

Tammy Duckworth endorses Joe Cunningham in SC-01, and begins this stretch of the campaign with a rally in Charleston on his behalf, where she speaks on how their service gives them both a unique perspective on foreign policy. Following the rally, the Senator campaigns across the first district, with rallies in Hilton Head, Beaufort, and in Charleston, all focusing on building a coalition of Democrats in Congress to prevent further overreach from this President. In between rallies, the Senator holds town halls focusing on a public option for healthcare and a stable hand in foreign policy.

February 26-29th:

Alongside prominent surrogates such as Representative Marlon Kimpson, and neighboring Senators Cal Cunningham and Anthony Foxx, Senator Duckworth puts her energy into building a strong GOTV effort in South Carolina. Representative Marlon Kimpson voices an electability message on behalf of Tammy Duckworth, with rallies across his district in Sumter, North Charleston, and Lake City, before running the GOTV effort in Columbia. Senators Cunningham and Foxx rally the northern portion of the state, with Cunningham holding events from Myrtle Beach to Florence, and Foxx rallying voters in Spartanburg, Rock Hill, and Greenville.

March 1st:

The Duckworth campaign heads to Providence, Rhode Island to rally voters for Mayor Jamie Bova, speaking on her record as mayor. Following the rally, the Senator heads to Boston, where her campaign believes she can hold the race to a decent margin, while not expecting to win the primary outright. Duckworth speaks to voters on passing her criminal justice reform bill alongside the Protect Working Families Act.

March 2nd:

Senator Duckworth travels across Massachusetts, with town halls in Worcester, Northampton, and Stockbridge, where she speaks to voters on expanding healthcare coverage, protecting Roe, and providing universal broadband. The Senator follows these town halls with a rally in Waterbury on behalf of Geraldo Reyes Jr. While in Connecticut, the Senator reaffirms her commitment to filibuster any of nominee President Trump puts up for the Supreme Court, saying it is a time for Congress to assert its co-equal status with the Executive.

March 3-4th:

The campaign heads to Montgomery, Alabama to rally supporters of Kelvin Lawrence, followed by a visit to volunteers in the campaign HQ there, where Duckworth campaign staff is working to turn out voters both for her and Lawrence. The Senator holds town halls throughout the eastern part of the district, highlighting both her and Lawrence's positions on raising the minimum wage and criminal justice reform. Tammy Duckworth ends this stretch of the campaign in Georgia, where her campaign sees strength for her candidacy, with rallies in Columbus and Atlanta, focusing on her ability to put Georgia in play in a general election, regardless of who Republicans put up against her.

March 5th:

On Super Tuesday itself, the Senator flies to California for a joint rally with Senator Harris and Governor Newsom in San Francisco on the need for the Equality Act. Duckworth holds rallies around the Bay Area and San Jose, highlighting immigration reform, raising the minimum wage, and the aforementioned Equality Act to voters. Senator Harris takes to Los Angeles for GOTV efforts, with Governor Newsom focusing on Sacremento, both highlighting Duckworth's ability to have coattails for Democrats in November.

Vice-President Marco Rubio campaigns for Republican congressional candidate Blake Filippi ahead of the special election in Rhode Island's at-large district

Location : Providence, Rhode Island

Date : March 2, 2024

Source : https://www.rubio.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?id=C6716DAE-6FEF-4CC2-A858-D7123F0728B5

Thank you, Rhode Island! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!

You know, Rhode Island’s at-large district is among the House districts holding special elections on March 5th. Every single House seat counts. We are 2 seats away from a Democratic take-over of the House of Representatives. They are 2 seats away from blocking every policy put forward that gave us the strongest economy in modern history and kept America safe. The stakes are too high for you to stay home on March 5th. That’s why we need you to mobilize at the highest possible number in every special election race, including here in RI-at-large district, to keep the House of Representatives under Republican hands and keep moving America forward.

It’s been a long, long time since Rhode Island hasn’t been competitive, except in the gubernatorial elections. If the gubernatorial races in Rhode Island are so competitive, then I believe we can absolutely make a breakthrough in this special election for RI-at-large district. It shows how much Republican ideas and Republican leadership are working. I never saw so many Republicans in Rhode Island. Finally, for the first time in 30 years, we have a real race here in a solid blue state like Rhode Island, making a serious run there thanks to the accomplishments of the last 8 years and because of Blake Filippi’s bi-partisan faith and his willingness and determination to put Rhode Island first.

In the last 8 years, our administration reduced taxes, especially thanks to the adoption of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, to the repeal of the Death Tax and the of the Marriage Penalty Tax and also thanks to the 2020 middle-class tax cut that President Trump put forward and that Congress passed in order to lower the middle-class’ fiscal burden and to further encourage job creation because a strong economy also requires a strong middle-class. As a result, we now have the lowest unemployment rate in history and the economy is booming all across this country, including right here in Rhode Island. Thanks to the tax-cut policies adopted in the last 8 years, Rhode Island’s unemployment rate went down from 4.7 % to 3.5 % today, bringing back manufacturing jobs and increasing the Ocean State’s real GDP from 1.4 % in 2017 to almost 4 % today. And these are exactly the policies that Blake Filippi defended throughout his career in the Rhode Island House of Representatives to defend the interests of Rhode Island’s taxpayers and he will keep doing so if elected at the House of Representatives to ensure the continuation of job creation, to lead this country to full-employment and keep America’s status as the best place to do business.

Blake was inspired to enter public service and defend the rights of the People by his father’s work as a civil rights leader. Paul A. Filippi had been the owner of Providence’s famed Celebrity Club — one of the first integrated music venues in the United States — despite immense pressure from government to halt integration. Paul Filippi’s struggle against immoral government action taught Blake that we citizens hold immense power to effect change and must stand tall for our beliefs. As a State Representative, Blake is a leading advocate for reform. He believes that government must be lean and clean, and has been a staunch advocate for ethical government, including the successful 2016 push for ethics reform.

Blake Filippi understands that in a blue state like Rhode Island getting things done often requires bringing both parties together, putting partisanship aside and reaching across the aisle and that’s what he did as Minority Leader in the Rhode Island House of Representatives. That’s why he brought Republicans and Democrats together to pass his legislation to relieve electricity ratepayers from state taxes that are imposed on any rate hike for National Grid as well as any future electricity rate increases approved by the Public Utilities Commission. He also reached an agreement with the State House Democrats to reduce cost of streetlights and improve energy efficiency for Block Island Community. Why? Because Blake believes that our beautiful environment is a human and economic treasure that must be preserved through responsible stewardship. That’s why as Congressman he will support any law aimed at making sure that America will take advantage of all of its sources of energy and will get to energy independence for the sake of a strong economy and an improvement of our ecological footprint. In the State House, Filippi put partisanship aside and worked with both Republicans and Democrats to cut the car tax in order to reduce the cost of buying a car and ensure that all Rhode Islanders will earn a decent and fair chance to earn and own a car through a lower fiscal burden. And he worked with both parties to curb opioid addiction to combat the devastating effects of the Opioid Crisis in a state that is among the ones mostly hit by this epidemic.

Even today, the Democrats in Washington are currently pursuing to their impeachment inquiry against President Trump due to Sergei Polonsky’s political leaning, demonstrating they are putting partisanship ahead of the interests and needs of the American people and are showing their unwillingness to work with the other party to get things done for the sake of America’s progress. The fact is, my friends, that the American people is tired of partisanship. We need to work together, Republicans, Democrats and Independents, to advance policies that will guarantee strong global peace as well as America’s security. If I win this nomination and become President of the United States while Polonsky gets elected as Russia’s next President, I will work with him normalize the relations between our 2 countries to work together for the expansion and the defense of human rights for better trade relations and for peace. If elected in the House of Representatives, Blake Filippi will work with Republicans and Democrats to support the ratification of constructive treaties that will make great contributions to permanent global peace and he will pass bills that will strengthen our national security and keep our military strong to keep our country safe, to ensure our victory against terrorism and to lead the world to permanent and stable nuclear security thanks to the promotion of American leadership. Blake also has a decent record in supporting our men and women in uniform, including in their post-military career. Seven years ago, Blake, along with the entire Rhode Island House of Representatives (Democrats and Republicans), voted unanimously in favor of a bill requiring more state contracts for Veteran-Owned businesses.

My friends, facing these times of challenges requires strong leadership and unity and Blake Filippi’s record and background shows that we can trust him to represent Rhode Island in the House of Representatives to defend the interests and values embraced by  the people of Rhode Island. We can trust him to put Rhode Island first. We can trust him to support the successful agenda of the last 8 years that strengthened our economy, defended our rights, supported our veterans and kept America safe. Let’s get the job done on March 5th, mobilize at the highest possible number that day, fight to secure your future and your freedom as well as our prosperity and our security by adding another voice in favor of our pro-growth and pro-liberty agenda and together we will give the Washington Democrats their ID-02 (referring to the surprising Democratic victory in the special election in ID-02 a month ago), we will turn Rhode Island red and keep moving America, including Rhode Island, forward.

Thank you. God bless Rhode Island and God bless the United States of America.

Merkely debate answers

1) "I have the AFL-CIO and Working Families Party campaigning for all Democrats running. This is not a low level of support either; it will be key in rallying working class voters from across the country. Regardless of whether the next President is Tammy or I, we will both pursue a pro-worker agenda. We both support a higher minimum wage and stronger unions. We can enact these reforms with more Democrats in office. It strengthens our hand.

2) "I oppose this and you know why? We already have term limits. They're called elections. If these Senators and Congressman are as out of step with the people as Republicans claim they are, then why do people like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren keep getting re-elected? It is because their voters are happy with them. If they are so out of step, Republicans should have no problem running against them.

It's also an attempt to deflect from the actual issue. Republicans say this is a corruption issue. It wouldn't be an issue if the Koch brothers who have bankrolled many Republican candidates didn't push so hard for Citizens United, nor would it be a problem if Republicans didn't keep pushing for total deregulation of campaign financing. We need to completely reform campaign financing, and it would be far easier if Republicans didn't keep opposing it.

In fact, let's see them put their money where their mouths are. I intend to propose a comprehensive campaign finance reofrm bill. Let's see what they do.

The 29th and 30th Amendments are clear attempts at doing nothing more than increasing executive power. The electoral college should be redistributed based on population, not on the idea that it protects smaller states, because it doesn't. When was the last time the Republican nominee visted Vermont? or the Democrat visited Wyoming? The 30th could be charitably described as grnating quasi-dictatorial powers. Must we be reminded of how many times Republicans have exploited partisanship? That is what they are doing right now. "

3) "we're seeing World War 1 play out in the 21st century. We must bring all parties to the negotiating table and look to end the fighting before millions are rendered homeless and thousands more are killed.

4) "Absolutely, but it's not even the matter being discussed. The Republican Party set the precedent that no judge should be confirmed during an election year, so why in the hell should they get to violate their own precedent?!

They set the precedent eight years ago with Merrick Garland. I and my colleagues in the Senate are fully prepared to filibuster this nomination until election day. Another conservative appointment will result in women losing the right to control their bodies (it is somewhat strange that the party of small government is attempting to take away authority from the individual but I digress), enforcing the abolition of Medicare, Medicaid and supporting Republican gerrymandering all over the country as well as abolishing Social Security. And that's just for starters.

We have one of the most openly partisan courts in history, with a judge who's openly said he will try to make Democrats' lives hell. That comment . . . that comment is grounds for impeachment."

5) "Whenever an American is attacked, that is one case where I believe we are warranted in pursuing a limited retaliation. Identify strategic military targets and attack them. Don't try to nation-build at all. A limited strike yes. A full invasion? Asolutely not. It would ruin our budget even more than Republicans are bent on doing so."

6) "This id designed to override the will of the people because Republicans know they can't win the people. They have lost the popular vote and won the electoral college three times this century. Ask yourself, which side benefits from taaking away voting power from people."

7 "Tammy has very good credentials. She would make an outstanding Secretary of State or Defense based on her past with the military. I know that as a former soldier, she will commit herself to diplomacy first, force second."

Cool "I reject these calls to be honest. I, my staff and my supporters believe we have a path to the nomination, and as long as that path remains open, I will stay in. I make this promise tonight that i will run no negative ads against Tammy, I will not disparage her priavtely or publicly, and will campaign vigorously for her should she win the nomination."

9) "Because the neutrality of the court is at risk. There is already one Justice who has confessed to wanting to make life as hard as possible for the Democratic Party (which is grounds for impeachment), and now the confirmation of another right-wing judge will put at risk not just the right of a woman to control her body, but also gay marriage, campaign finance laws, gerrymandering and the abolition of vital services like Medicare,Medicaid and Social Security.

We cannot and will not allow this to happen. I intend to stand in the way of this nomination as long as necessary, and let us not forget, you need 60 votes for cloture, not 51. I believe we can and will be successful."

Closing statement: "Tonight, you have seen an exchange of ideas, rather than a mudlsinging match. That is what should happen whe you run for your party's nomination. No matter who you vote for when you go to the polls, vote for the candidate who represents your views best, regardless of who that might be, or you will always wonder what might have been."

Tammy Duckworth Debate Answers

Opening Statement:

“Thank you, Columbia University, CNN, and the audience and viewers at home. I can assure you tonight is going to be very different than the Republican debate, because Jeff and I respect each other as friends and colleagues. There will be no mudslinging or personal attacks, as we are both committed to electing Democrats at every level in November, and we have more that unites us than divides us. I look forward to a policy heavy debate, and if you’re undecided, I hope to earn your vote tonight.”

1:

“It’s paramount that we give the next Democratic President a Democratic Congress, and I will continue to do everything I can to make sure that happens. I have held events with Joe Cunningham, alongside planned events with Jamie Bova, Geraldo Reyes Jr, and Kelvin Lawrence, and currently have an ad airing for every Democrat running in the special election on Super Tuesday. While it may take me off the beaten path of the campaign trail, I will at least be making a stop with each of these four, as part of being a leader is lifting up the others in our party.”

2:

“I’m not sure these amendments are the best way to tackle a broken system. I do believe the health records of candidates should be available to the public and have provided mine in an effort for full transparency. However, as someone who has encountered life-altering health changes in her life, I’m worried about discriminating against disabled individuals with stringent tests like the ones proposed. As for term limits, much like health concerns, the American public is wise enough to make their own decisions about a candidate’s fitness for office, not lawmakers looking to change the constitution for a political ‘win.’”

3:

“We are dealing with a very delicate diplomatic situation in Turkey, which requires a steady hand, which this administration is seriously lacking. The United States needs to remain committed to using every diplomatic option at our disposal to ensure lasting peace in the region. That means calling for a diplomatic meeting between the leaders of Turkey and Operation Ceasefire, and doing the hard work of brokering peace between all parties, and avoiding another never-ending conflict in the region.”

4:

“I’m with Jeff on this. Republicans set a precedent that a Supreme Court Justice is not to be confirmed in the lead up to an election year, let alone in the middle of one. There have been several vacancies and Senate appointments in the past year, and I truly believe we must wait to hear what the American people have to say about who should be appointing and confirming individuals to a lifetime role as a justice.”

5:

“As I have done privately, I wish his family my thoughts in this dark time and offer them my condolences. The assassination of a public official is the cause for grave concern, and I want to wait for further details before I comment on something as serious as foreign intervention. However, what I will say is that America remains strong and unafraid in the face of terrorists, whether domestic or foreign, and I will not rule out a coordinated effort with the United Nations against Boko Haram.”

6:

“This has to be one of the most egregious attempts at a power grab that I’ve ever seen. What this movement is, is a movement against democratically elected Governors, against the will of the American people. I’ve won my fair share of elections and even lost one early on, and I’ve never thought, “but, what if we bend the rules a tiny bit, just to keep this seat safe.” That’s not the thought of a leader, that’s the thought of a coward who is afraid of the popular will of their constituents.”

7:

“Senator Jeff Merkley is my friend, and I happen to think he’s a damn good Senator. He will have an active role in my administration, most likely continuing his work for the people as Treasury Secretary or a leader on infrastructure as the Interior Secretary. What I can say definitively is, we are friends, and neither of us is interested in fighting against each other, we are interested in working to build a better America.”

8:

“Our campaign has a strong ground game, which is what lead to the wins in Iowa and Delaware, and the tight race in New Hampshire. We are heading into Super Tuesday with real energy on the ground, and some new endorsements that are amongst the best campaigners I’ve ever seen. When I entered this race, I knew it would be an uphill battle, but that didn’t stop me from serving in the army, from running for Congress, unseating an incumbent Senator, and becoming a mother in my 40s. I’ve never been one to shy away from tough odds, and I’m not about to start now. As for the Senate, of course, I support the filibuster against any of the utterly unqualified, extremist choices the President has suggested. It’s our duty to serve the American people, who deserve to have their voices heard in nominating and confirming the next Supreme Court Justice.”

9:

“I am still fired up about this. Let’s get it straight, Republicans decided to play politics with working families. This is a bill to help working moms and dads, close the pay gap, and make the American Dream accessible to this generation, and because they’re afraid of the coalition that’s been brought together by my message, they struck it down. I’m willing to bring this argument to the American people, and campaign for Democrats across the country, because the best way to deal with this Congress is to put them out of a job, and replace them with people willing to do the hard work of governing.”

Closing Statement:

“Democrats, we have the election of a lifetime in November, an election that will allow us to clean up the mess at home and abroad that this administration has made. We cannot let Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress strip away the rights we have fought so hard to achieve. But this election isn’t just about Republicans, it’s about our vision for America. I believe Americans deserve universal childcare, paid family leave, universal healthcare, and a minimum wage that is a living wage. On the campaign trail, I hear from Americans who are afraid, they are concerned at the direction this country is taking, about the uncertainty regarding foreign policy, and about the rising costs of healthcare and childcare. This is what got me into the race in the first place, and if you are looking for solutions, I ask for your support.”

Ivan Rodriguez debate answers part 1

1.Well first off I want to say thoughts and prayers to the family of Hank Aaron who unfortunately passed away 2 days ago. Hank will always be a baseball icon and a good story of the American Dream and opportunity.

2.I think we gotta find a way and try hard to campaign in those tough regions. We can’t just give up and say oh well cause that isn’t the way and that is just giving up without a fight.  I recommend to my fellow Republicans that we try our best anywhere even if they aren’t in our favor.

3.Why yes I agree with the amendment for term limits in congress and senate and that the Electoral College should be the final result unless it turns out the election was unfairly rigged or that the president elect in that case is totally unfit in cases of signing of that he was to act like a dictator or a king and signs of a demoage that will not respect the Constitution on in that case then I think there should be a exception in that case because that is the day I dread the most is when the United States is taken over by a individual who wants to rule her like a tyrant.

And yes I will support the amendment on the Supreme Court their opinions are some of the most important to the country and are the ones who should follow the constitution most.

In an effort to win among farmers as well as voters who selected the economy as the most important issue, Marco Rubio's presidential campaign broadcasts an ad about Rubio's plan to launch America’s agricultural industry.

Title : Prosperity and Subsistence

Prosperity and Subsistence ad narration :

In the last 8 years, America made strong progress in getting our economy, including our agricultural industry, rolling again.

In 2019, in the context of the U.S.-China Trade War, President Trump went on to cut a deal with and Beijing, during a joint summit, on that issue as both nations agreed to lift tariffs with China halting to steal IPs and the United States stopping to use Chinese citizens for cheap labor abroad, thus ending the trade war, which helped farmers across this country to recover and to further reinforce their competition.

Marco Rubio has a plan to do even more on this issue to make certain our farmers will earn a chance to rise and prosper and to further launch our agricultural industry.

Source : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Idaho_farm_and_field.jpg
As President, he will reduce taxes and regulations for businesses across this nation, including for agricultural businesses, to help them to innovate and to manufacture more tractors and seeds and other farm products, which will boost job creation, improve agricultural technologies, ensure America's subsistence, reduce the food prices through the reduction of inflation and reduce Americans' dependence on food stamps, which will reinforce their purchasing power and give them more access to food. He will approve agricultural subsidies in order to help agricultural communities to recover from the trade war and to strengthen farm businesses’ ability to compete and produce.

He will also champion free trade, which will lower tariffs and increase exports and imports and increase access to our products, including farm and agricultural products, for 95 % of the world market (as we represent 5 % of the world market).

And finally, he will cut ag property taxes in order to grant farmers the opportunity to earn the property of farm lands and to pursue their activities for the sake of their food needs and their quest for the American Dream.

Our agricultural industry is a major pillar of our economy and as long as it is strong, America’s economy is strong. As long as America is the best business-friendly country in the world, this nation will be the best place for farmers to pursue their agricultural activities and will be the best place for everyday Americans to fill their food needs. That’s what will be done under a Rubio Administration and that’s why he needs your vote for America’s future.

Marco Rubio : I'm Marco Rubio and I approve this message.

Marco Rubio's anti-opioid policy speech

Location : Wilmington, Delaware

Date : February 25, 2024

Of the four major candidates for President, three want to legalize opioids while President Trump made the fight against the Opioid Crisis one of his top priorities during his presidency. I am the only candidate who understands the devastating consequences of opioids. Legalizing opioids will only make the Opioid Crisis even worse as it will embolden fentanyl traffickers by making it easier for them to orchestrate their drug trafficking activities and by making opioids easily accessible because drug companies pushed for doctors and the government to embrace their drugs and different levels of government loosened access to opioids after lobbying from drug companies. As a result, a lot of people have died : in terms of overdoses, the opioid epidemic is deadlier than any other drug crisis in US history. More than 560,000 people in the US died to drug overdoses between 1999 and 2015 because opioid companies got a hold of a dangerous, addictive product, marketed it irresponsibly, and lobbied for lax rules. As a result, states like Delaware and Florida are among the states that are mostly hit by the epidemic as they suffered 52.0 per 100 000 drug overdose deaths of the 64,070 overdose deaths in the US in 2016. The state of New York suffered 19 per 100 000 drug overdose deaths in 2016. And in Texas, 70 000 people die of drug overdoses every year because of the Opioid Crisis. Delaware also ranks 5th in the nation for children affected by the Opioid Crisis next to Kentucky (4th) while Florida is tied with Massachusetts, Michigan and Arizona for 13th place, the state of New York has the 16th highest rate of youth affected by the opioid epidemic. Action was needed to counter that epidemic that’s why I successfully co-introduced the Fentanyl Sanctions Act of 2019, a bipartisan anti-opioid measure to impose sanctions against Chinese and other foreign traffickers of fentanyl. Six years ago, I also championed provisions to the SUPPORT Act, the single largest legislative package addressing a single drug crisis in history, to help stop payments to middlemen referring patients to illicit sober homes and treatment centers; an amendment to improve the quality of care provided to newborn babies suffering from opioid withdrawal by providing states additional funding to research babies born with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome; the Hospice Safe Drug Disposal Act to allow hospice providers to safely dispose of unused opioids so they do not end up in the wrong hands; the Sober Home Fraud Detection Act to help states, law enforcement, private insurers and patients identify potentially illicit sober homes to make sure those who need care are able to find reputable legitimate facilities; the SALTS Act that made it easier for law enforcement to prosecute those that sell and distribute synthetic drugs that are substantially similar to other illegal drugs by closing a loophole that enabled wrongdoers to avoid prosecution by simply labeling the deadly drug as “not intended for human consumption”; and the Synthetics Trafficking and Overdose Prevention (STOP) Act, legislation to interdict fentanyl, synthetic opioids, and other narcotics by requiring international shipments through the U.S. Postal Service to provide advance information on where the shipment is coming from, where it is going, and its contents, and to instruct U.S. Postal Service and Customs and Border Protection to develop technology to identify fentanyl and illicit opioids entering the United States by mail. As President, I will do the following in order to combat the Opioid Crisis : 1) reduce demand and over-prescription, including educating Americans about the dangers of opioid misuse; 2) cut down on the supply of illicit drugs by cracking down on the international and domestic drug supply chains that devastate American communities; 3) help those struggling with addiction through evidence-based treatment and recovery support services. The choice for this election : untested leadership and risky ideas or steady and proven leadership. And with your help, your support and your vote, I will lead this fight, because our security, the American people's health and our children's future depends on it, because our children’s future is worth fighting for.

Thank you. God bless you and God bless America.

Source : https://www.rubio.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/home
Nuclear power is a proven, zero-emission source of energy, and it is time we recommit to advancing our use of nuclear power. Currently, nuclear power produces 20% of our power but as of today, our country is losing the nuclear energy export race to China and Russia. Russian and Chinese companies are aggressively pursuing nuclear energy export deals and building more reactors overseas than U.S. firms. This tendency is making us more dependent on foreign energy and that’s why we need to reverse that tendency and I have an ambitious plan to get us there.

Under my presidency, we will encourage the building of new nuclear power plants here in this country with the objective of building 40 new nuclear power plants by 2050 in order to reach to a total number of 100 nuclear power plants on the U.S. soil by the end of the first half of this century with the ultimate goal of building 100 new nuclear power plants. We will do it through tax credits for advanced nuclear projects and subsidies for building new nuclear power plants. And instead of doing it with taxpayers’ money like the Democrats want to do, we will invest a part of the revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable energies, including nuclear power, wind, solar, hydro and geothermal energies. That plan will help create 600 000 new jobs (nearly 15 000 jobs created for every new nuclear plant built). That way, our nation's industrial and manufacturing base will be rejuvenated and we will encourage both economic growth and job creation as well as an improvement of our ecological footprint, making our country more independent from foreign suppliers and foreign nuclear power and increasing America’s competitiveness in the nuclear power export race at the point of becoming the world’s leader in nuclear energy export and edging China and Russia on that level. That way, we will accomplish America’s path to energy independence and improve American families’ quality of life through even stronger access to electricity and heat. A vote for me is a vote for prosperity, energy independence and preservation of our environment through fiscally responsible policies. And that’s why I need your vote to ensure the continuation of America’s economic prosperity and status as the world’s top energy producer
Thank you. God bless you and God bless America.

Vice-President Rubio's debate answers

Opening statement : Good evening ladies and gentlemen. In this time of challenges, tonight is about how to pursue hope and prosperity as well as about how to ensure the preservation of freedom and security here and abroad and how to bring this party together to win in November and keep moving our country forward through lower taxes, defense of our constitutional rights and strong American leadership. My campaign is focused on these issues and I’m looking forward to have that kind of debate tonight.

General Question #1 : I will campaign in all those 4 districts you just mentioned. Because AL-02, CT-05, RI-AL and SC-01 will be the districts that will decide whether the House will be taken by the Democrats or will remain under Republicans. The Democrats are just 2 seats away from taking the House, 2 seats away from blocking every policy aimed at creating jobs through lower taxes and the promotion of free enterprise, 2 seats away from blocking any policy protecting our country’s constitutional rights and 2 seats away from blocking any policy aimed at keeping America safe through secured borders, a strong military and bold American leadership. We can’t let them do this and we even have an opportunity to strengthen our House majority by winning RI-AL with Blake Filippi, a bipartisan Republican who knows how to get things done. And such a victory will not only make our majority even more stable but also indicate how much the Republican Party is becoming competitive again in New England Democratic strongholds like Rhode Island. That is an opportunity we can’t afford to miss and that’s why I intend to campaign for Filippi as well as for other GOP candidates to keep the House under Republican hands and to keep moving this country forward.

General Question #2 : The proposed 28th amendment makes sense as it would allow Senators to serve until the age of 75 and so to serve a few decades if they are elected at an enough young age and would avoid tragic deaths during the Senator's term. And also term limits in Congress will also make our country totally look like a real democracy and it is also necessary because Congress keeps spending. And I agree that the final result should go through the Electoral college to preserve the integrity of presidential elections and I agree that a Justice can only be impeached by a 3/4ths yes vote in both chambers of Congress because it will help us to pass any constitutional conservative SCOTUS nominee and keep the SCOTUS conservative, ensuring the protection of constitutional rights.

General Question #3 : Well, thanks for the warning [laughs] (referring to Trump’s statement that any Cabinet member calling for military intervention would be fired). Because I have already established my position and it doesn’t include a military intervention in Turkey. Here’s what needs to be done and what I would do as President : imposing an embargo on Turkish oil to weaken their economy as oil is a major pillar of the Turkish economy and to diminish their military power as their military like every modern military mostly function through oil, thus helping our allies to defeat the Turkish troops; sanctioning weaponry supplies to Turkey; getting our Greek allies to deploy some of their warships from Constantinople to the Black Sea to intercept any Russian ship attempting to provide weaponry to Turkey, which will deprive Turkey of any war effort; providing the Kurds in weaponry; and convincing India to involve in weaponry provision, military training and intelligence support for the Kurds due to India’s membership in the Tehran Pact and due to Turkey’s support to Pakistan and to the terrorist organizations state-sponsored by Pakistan, thus helping the Coalition forces to overpower Turkish troops thanks contributions from the 4th military power in the world and to counter the power of Russian and Chinese troops present in Turkey. That is the kind of leadership that needs to be followed in order to make Operation Ceasefire successful, help our allies to defeat the Turkish troops and bring Erdogan to the negotiating table and lead to the recognition of Kurdistan as an independent and sovereign state for the sake of freedom, justice and stability in the Middle East.

General Question #4 : All those 3 gentlemen are decent choices, but my first choice is Ted Cruz. He has the experience to serve at SCOTUS due to his legal career and he served as Texas Solicitor General. He is a constitutional conservative and an unapologetic defender of the Second Amendment, of the life of the unborn, of freedom of religion and of the states’ rights and dedicated an major part of his political career to fight for strong and secured borders which are all the qualities that Senator Cruz and I have in common. When it comes to the Senate’s actions, the Democrats obviously decided to act as a do-nothing opposition. No wonder that they want to diminish the Second Amendment, tolerate abortion and award Guantanamo terrorists with constitutional rights. But fortunately, we have the necessary votes to approve any potential SCOTUS nominee that President Trump will appoint as we have a 53-47 Republican majority in the Senate even if the Senate vote comes to a 50-50 deadlock on the SCOTUS nominee, as Vice-President I’m the President of the Senate and so I will cast the 51st vote needed to break the tie and approve whoever President Trump nominates for SCOTUS for the sake of the defense of your constitutional rights, of the protection of unborn lives, of the preservation of freedom of religion, etc. And when I’m President, I will pursue this fight to protect those inviolable rights by nominating constitutional conservative judges.

General Question #5 : No I don’t think it is a just cause for more military intervention in Africa because we already have few troops there training the local Armed Forces. That doesn’t mean that Thune’s death is not a just cause for leadership because as Ronald Reagan said « if we don’t accept the responsibilities of leadership, who will? » Keeping America safe against terror requires strong and secured borders, the deployment of boots to our borders, background checks on refugees coming to this country. That's exactly what we're doing. What also needs to be done is keeping our military strong and modernizing it and standing with our allies. Under my leadership, we will provide our Western African allies in military training and in materials to get them to take on the responsibility of their own security. We already have 3 drone bases in Nigeria and so we’ll use our drones to destroy Boko Haram key targets as well as their controlled oil refineries to deprive them of revenues from their oil drilling activities to fund their war effort and their plans of terrorist attacks. That way, we will defeat our enemies without needing to send additional troops in Africa and through lower cost (as drones are significantly cheaper to purchase, fuel, and maintain than regular airplanes), keep America safe and strong and guarantee a stabilized global peace through strength thanks to the preservation of American leadership. It’s not a matter of presence, it’s a matter of casualties and thanks to that plan, we’re going to keep America safe without sending additional troops in harm’s way.

General Question #6 : This bill is a great step towards fairer democratic process to show how much big cities can make the difference in election by overrunning a majority of counties in a state despite them being a small number of the counties in a state. For example, here in Texas, big cities like Houston or Dallas would be the equivalent of states like Texas, New York or Illinois on the national Electoral College, thus ensuring decent balance in the states’ elections and such balance is key to integrity and fair democratic process.

General Question #7 : My colleagues on this stage have proven themselves to be good rivals and I will continue to have admiration and respect for them during and after that campaign. Governor Rodriguez focused an important part of his campaign on infrastructure and veterans, which are also major priorities of my campaign and I would see a decent Secretary of Veteran Affairs or Secretary of HUD in him. During her time in the House of Representatives and her tenure as Governor and during this campaign, Governor Noem spent an important part of her life fighting to protect the interests of farmers and to boost our agricultural industry, the moreover that she had to abandon college to help run her family's ranch after her father was killed in a farm machinery accident. Should I win this nomination and become President, she would be among my first choices for Secretary of Agriculture. But I also think that Governor Noem would be a great Vice-President she is a woman of courage who spent day after day fighting for hard-working South Dakotans and took on corruption and a constitutional conservative. No matter who on this stage wins the nomination, I hope he or she will have the support of all other candidates so we can be a united party to win in November and pursue the progress of the last 8 years.

Marco Rubio Question #1 : As we understood, the American people want a more civilized campaign and so we are focusing on the issues facing America as well as on policy and solutions because I know that we must campaign on the people’s hopes and aspirations which are small government and lower taxes for an even stronger economy and the defense of their constitutional rights and their national security because that is what this campaign is all about. But if any of the other campaigns decide to break their promise to run a positive campaign, decide to attack me and to mislead American voters about my record and agenda, then I will fight back. And above all, our people wants to know who has the best experience, leadership and ideas to lead this country and I can tell you that I am that person. I first served as county-commissioner, as state Representative, as Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, as Senator, as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship and as Vice-President so I know what it takes to grow this economy and keep America free and safe.

Marco Rubio Question #2 : First of all, those accusations are flat-out false, it’s pure defamation. I haven’t hijacked anything, certainly not the vice-presidency. It’s like saying that Mike Pence did so to further his political career in 2016, which is far from the truth. And actually I supported the President’s foreign policy agenda as I supported his counter-terrorism efforts that defeated ISIS thanks to a strong military and strong alliances as well as his efforts to denuclearize North Korea and to cancel Obama’s Iran nuclear deal that was handing billions of dollars to a country that was the world’s largest state-sponsor of terrorism at the time. The reason why President Trump asked me to be his Vice-President in 2020 is because he trusted my judgment enough to help him keep America safe and prosperous and so by adding my foreign policy experience, we went on to get North Korea and Iran denuclearized, to defeat ISIS in the Middle East and to strengthen Israel’s stability, giving us a great opportunity for strong global peace. That’s why I’m ruling out a military intervention in Operation Ceasefire as I believe sanctions will be successful in defeating Turkey and that’s why I engage to normalize the US-Russia relations in the first 100 days of my presidency if Sergei Polonsky is elected this spring. And I have the best foreign policy experience to get us to long-term global peace so our children can grow up in a world where they will earn the opportunity to be safe and free.

Closing Statement : We’re in a time of challenges : terrorist threat from West Africa, a war threatening the stability of the Middle East (referring to Operation Ceasefire), a border crisis and an opioid crisis threatening our children’s future. Such time means a time in which we can’t afford any on-the-job-training. And my experience qualifies me for the top job : as Chair of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, I know how to keep this economy growing and I did so by leading the effort to double the Child Tax Credit and passing legislation that kept America’s status as the world’s best business-friendly country. As a member of the Committee on Foreign Relations and as VP, I know how to keep this country safe which means keeping our military strong, strong alliances, strong American leadership and strong borders. That’s why I passed those sanctions on Hezbollah and the Girls Count Act to fight human trafficking. And that experience helped President Trump to accomplish great things such as the denuclearization of North Korea and Iran and our victory on ISIS in the Middle East. That’s why I ask for your vote because I have the right background, judgement and agenda to pursue the progress of the last 8 years to get us to full-employment and long-term global peace, which are keys to the defense of the America’s promise to make sure that our children will earn the opportunities that previous generations couldn’t have thanks to the protection and expansion of the American Dream. Thank you.
