Ivan Rodriguez calls for a kids and family tax credit
CNN.com
In a stop in Nevada Republican Presidential Candidate Ivan Rodríguez (R-PR) unveiled his latest tax credit pledge Monday this one targeting parents with kids in arts and sports activities.

He is also proposing a promising changes to the tax code that would allow parents to claim up to $1,000 per child for expenses related to fitness or sports activities.

Another credit — the children's arts and learning tax credit — would allow parents to claim up to $500 per child for expenses.

and the environment.

The credits would be refundable, meaning that even if a family owes no taxes to the government at tax time (often the case with low-income families), it can still benefit, Rodriguez  said.

Parents of children with disabilities would receive more from the promised credits. For every child with a disability, the sports credit would be worth $500 more a year, while the arts credit would double to $1,000.

According to the non partisan Tax Policy Center the the fitness credit would cost the federal treasury about $240 million a year in  revenue. The arts tax credit would cost about $56 million a year.

Tammy Duckworth MSNBC Interview

Quote
Question #1 : First Senator Duckworth, thanks for coming on. Now then, on with our first question. Senator, if nominate, you would be the Third Woman Nominee for the Democratic Party in a row. However, the last two nominees, Clinton in 2016 and Warren in 2020, couldn't defeat Donald Trump. How do you believe you are different enough to defeat Donald Trump's Successor For the Republican Nomination. As a bonus, it's a possibility that Governor Noem of South Dakota could become the Republican Nominee, making her the first woman nominee of the Republican Party. What are your thoughts on the scenario this would present?

"Thank you so much for having me. With all due respect, I’m my own candidate. We democrats did pretty well the last time we nominated a Midwesterner, and I plan on running a positive campaign about the issues keeping Americans up at night. I believe it’s better for our country and our party to have nominees that represent our constituents, and I welcome the Republican Party finally moving in that direction."

Quote
2. Senator, This is perhaps the most conservative judicial branch in American History thanks to all the appointments Trump made to not just the Supreme Court but also the District Courts throughout his tenure, and this has made many Democrats afraid of what will happen next. Some Democrats, such as Senator Gillibrand and Representative Buttigieg, have endorsed the idea of packing the court with Liberal judges, but other dems, such as Senator King and Representative Crist have called the ideas dangerous and even justices Sotomayor and Kagan have stated that they will oppose any such ideas if attempted. How do you feel about the current court system and how will you handle these crisis. If possible, who might you appoint to the court, as both previously mentioned Justices are considering retirement soon?

"I, like many Americans, believe that the Court is in dire need of reform to keep reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, and the rights of people of color safe from assaults on them from this conservative bench. I do not believe that court packing is the best answer, as it starts a dangerous precedent that a demagogue like Trump could take advantage of. We need to look at cyclical terms for the Supreme Court, as the country gets more divided and our life expectancies get longer, we need to take a serious look at rethinking lifetime appointments to the federal bench."

Quote
3. Recently, President Trump has called out Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey for all their actions that have delegitimize american interests abroad. Do you agree with what President Trump has done and why?

"Foreign policy by tweet is dangerous, full stop. We can not have a President who puts our men and women on the front lines in serious danger with a flippant statement. Our international relationships are complex and nuanced, and require a scalpel, not a sledgehammer. That’s what America will get under my administration, someone who is tough, but considers the implications of her actions, as the President should do."

Quote
4. Senator, many are wondering who would be your running mate if you were to get the nomination. Of course, that is quite a ways away from now but just for the sake of the question, who would be your top 12 potential choices for a running mate?

"I will say, coming from the Senate, I pledge to not jeopardize our standing by picking someone who will be replaced by a Republican. My very early, very long list includes all of my fellow Democrats running this year, Connor Lamb, Cal Cunningham, Michelle Lujan Grisham, Cory Booker, Maggie Hassan, Tim Walz, Andy Beshear, Ruben Gallego, and Gavin Newsom. Now, that doesn’t mean it’s limited to that group, but they all would add quite a lot to a presidential ticket."

Quote
5. Alright, so this is our final question and it'll be extremely quick. Recently, Congress passed the Veterans to Protect the Youth Act which allows mentally fit veterans (Around 4-5 per school) to protect the school, aiding police officers inside the school in the case of a School Shooting. This is perhaps the first Bill to get all Senators and all but 4 Representatives to vote on it, making it perhaps the first solid case of bipartisanship I have ever seen in this country. Why did you and all your colleagues vote in favor and how do you feel about the idea as a general policy?

"I can only speak for myself, and how I vote, but I believe this is a necessity in our era. Our children are terrified to go to school, our police officers are facing assault weapons like the one I was trained to use in the army, and our streets have become as dangerous as a war zone, with more Americans killed by gun violence than war over the past 60 years. If Republicans continue to avoid common sense measures like strengthening background checks, banning weapons of war, and closing the boyfriend loophole, the least they can do is provide security through people like me who have volunteered to put their lives on the line for this country, rather than some ridiculous idea like arming teachers."

Marco Rubio's TV Ad

In an effort to win among voters concerned about the Opioid Crisis in New England (including New Hampshire), in the Rust Belt, in the South and the West, Marco Rubio's presidential campaign broadcasts an ad about Marco Rubio's record of efforts and accomplishments to combat the Opioid Epidemic and his plan as President to fight it.

Title : Fight Back

Airing :  New Hampshire, South Carolina, Delaware, Florida, Alabama, California, Massachusetts, New York, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vermont and Virginia

Fight Back ad narration :

Narrator : New Hampshire is one of the states that the Opioid Crisis hit the most along with its New England neighbors as well as an important part of the West and the South, causing 39.0 per 100 000 drug overdose deaths overall (nationally) in the Granite State in 2016, 25.0 per 100 000 drug overdose deaths in Florida that same year, 16.1 deaths per 100,000 persons in New York. 28.2 deaths per 100 000 people in Massachusetts, etc. And over 130 people died every day from opioid-related drug overdoses.

Inaction on this issue was clearly unacceptable. We had to fight back.

That’s why Marco Rubio successfully co-introduced the Fentanyl Sanctions Act of 2019, a bipartisan anti-opioid measure to impose sanctions against Chinese and other foreign traffickers of fentanyl.

Six years ago, he also championed provisions to the SUPPORT Act, the single largest legislative package addressing a single drug crisis in history, to help stop payments to middlemen referring patients to illicit sober homes and treatment centers; an amendment to improve the quality of care provided to newborn babies suffering from opioid withdrawal by providing states additional funding to research babies born with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome; the Hospice Safe Drug Disposal Act to allow hospice providers to safely dispose of unused opioids so they do not end up in the wrong hands; the Sober Home Fraud Detection Act to help states, law enforcement, private insurers and patients identify potentially illicit sober homes to make sure those who need care are able to find reputable legitimate facilities; the SALTS Act that made it easier for law enforcement to prosecute those that sell and distribute synthetic drugs that are substantially similar to other illegal drugs by closing a loophole that enabled wrongdoers to avoid prosecution by simply labeling the deadly drug as “not intended for human consumption”; and the Synthetics Trafficking and Overdose Prevention (STOP) Act, legislation to interdict fentanyl, synthetic opioids, and other narcotics by requiring international shipments though the U.S. Postal Service to provide advance information on where the shipment is coming from, where it is going, and its contents, and to instruct U.S. Postal Service and Customs and Border Protection to develop technology to identify fentanyl and illicit opioids entering the United States by mail.

As President, Marco Rubio will do the following in order to combat the Opioid Crisis : 1) reduce demand and over-prescription, including educating Americans about the dangers of opioid misuse; 2) cut down on the supply of illicit drugs by cracking down on the international and domestic drug supply chains that devastate American communities; 3) help those struggling with addiction through evidence-based treatment and recovery support services.

That's why he needs your help and your vote to lead this fight, because our security, the American people's health and our children's future depends on it, because our children’s future is worth fighting for.

Marco Rubio : I'm Marco Rubio and I approve this message.

Brown Question # 1 : Senator, you have served Ohio for 49 years, which started when you became a member of the Ohio State House of Representatives, to now, where you serve the Buckeye state in the Senate. Yet you are retiring this year. Why are you retiring and do you think you could keep Ohio’s seat from flipping to the Republicans this November with you not on the ballot?

Brown Question # 2 : Senator, Rose City ANTIFA has recently devastated Portland, Oregon in another riot, one that has become an almost common sight in the city. You, as well as Washington State Senator Mona Das, called out the actions of ANTIFA as vile and thuggish, while no one else in the field has done so. Why did you do that?

Debate Questions + Responses

Opening Statement: My fellow Americans, I come from a state where it is getting harder and harder for Democrats to win elections, a state where our workers are suffering and in effect leaving to the arms of the GOP based on false promises. I’ve been in Congress since 1993 so I know when things get bad, my fellow Americans it is time to act. As Senator, I was one of the opposing votes on the Iraq war, I’ve been the strongest voice for our nation’s unions, and I’ve been one of the strongest progressive Congressman ever elected, this is what America needs, a candidate that doesn’t back down to the political establishment and instead does what he believes in. If given the nomination, I will represent our party’s values and the ideals we were founded on, a just country where everyone has a right to assemble.

Answer: Well let me start of by saying this, there have been accusations that claim I am not running for re-election to the United States Senate, these accusations are untrue and simply false. I am in fact running for re-election to my Senate seat because it is absolutely vital that if I don’t happen to win the nomination, the Democratic Party retains this seat and frankly I have proven to be capable to win in a state that has been voting red these past couple of elections. Now to answer your other question Rachel, I do think we can flip Ohio even if I'm not on the ticket, it really just depends on the way us as a party and as candidates communicate our message to the American people. You know I come from the “Buckeye State” and let me tell you why I’ve won re-election to my seat when President Trump won this state with a substantial margin, it’s because I talked and met with the backbone of this country and one of the biggest groups of our party, the blue collar families of the United States. Frankly we don’t have a chance of winning this election if we repeat the same mistakes we did in 2016, we need to discuss how we’re going to improve the lives of these middle class families that have been hurt by our unfair tax system, by the companies that have been sending jobs to foreign countries causing people to lose their jobs, and we’ve got to discuss our support for the right to assemble and form unions.  We’ve got to discuss this in states like mine, which have historically voted Democratic but have felt isolated because they feel ignored, this needs to change. I’ve shown I can do that by gaining support from both Democrats and Republicans and I can do this as your nominee.

Answer: Well, first thank you for bringing up this question. You know, I know that some things happening in this country may not be liked by all of us, but violence is never an option. When I saw what ANTIFA did to those poor people in Portland, I boiled up inside. My blood got hot. I don’t understand how people can say that they are Anti-Fascist, when they are literally acting as fascist and attacking the enemy. This comes right back to my foreign policy. I don’t believe that the best way forward for our nation is to allow these conflicts divide us here at home, or abroad. I opposed the Iraq War, and I stand by that vote because intervention should never be the first option. I will stand with Republicans, with Democrats, in the pursuit of seeking common ground, that will benefit all Americans. That is why I condemned ANTIFA, and that is why I call on every other member in this race should condemn ANTIFA for their actions.

Closing Statement: I’d like to thank MSNBC for holding this debate and for all the watchers at home for tuning in and watching all the candidates up on this stage answer your most pressing concerns. It is time that the United States someone that is willing to stand up for the American people and that is willing to lead against the establishment when they’re wrong, that is what I did when I led the fight against the Iraq war and when I led the fight against NAFTA. America, this is the time to take back the soul of America and help our nation move forward from the 8 horrible years of President Trump. So let me say this, I know that I’d support anyone on stage against Vice President Rubio, an enable for the worst President in modern American history, all I am asking is you let me lead the fight against him. Thank you and God Bless the United States of America.

Campaign Highlights

Early on the campaign trail, Sherrod Brown made the following remarks at a speech in New Hampshire:

Quote
The Opioid Epidemic has been directly caused by greedy drug companies who aren't being held accountable. We need to hold the pharmaceutical drug companies accountable for misleading, unethical, and frankly should-be-illegal marketing and distribution of these products. Republicans, and even some Democrats, have left New Hampshirites totally behind and done the bidding of the drug companies. As President, I will fight to hold these drug companies accountable for their recklessness and carelessness in causing the deaths of thousands and ruining several thousand more lives. There's no reason why pharmaceutical companies should be getting away with ruining the lives of many New Hampshirites, and there's no reason why they should be able to continue to.

Sherrod Brown outlines $1T infrastructure plan at Iowa town hall

Quote
"Our nation’s infrastructure is collapsing and people know it.  Every day, we drive on roads with unforgiving potholes and over bridges that are in disrepair.  We wait in traffic jams and ride in railroads and subways that are overcrowded. We see airports bursting at the seams. Much of our drinking water infrastructure is nearing the end of its useful life. It is no wonder the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report now ranks our overall infrastructure at 12th in the world – down from 7th place just a decade ago. The economy has improved significantly since the worst days of the recession, our nation still faces a major jobs crisis.

We need to create millions of decent paying jobs, and we need to create them now.  And infrastructure spending is one of the best ways to do just that. We need to rebuild our levees, dams, roads, schools, railroads, and bridges. We can create millions of new jobs by reinvesting one trillion in our infrastructure over the next ten years. Some estimates say 14 million jobs, others have it above 30 million jobs. We would make hundreds of thousands of jobs for Iowans just by rebuilding crumbling infrastructure here at home, which is crucial to the safety of our economy, something we've been needing to do for a while. Not only that, we'll be able to pay for it without adding a penny to the deficit by taxing corporate offshore income. Moreover, there is an economic cost of not acting.  Several studies have concluded that our deteriorating infrastructure already costs our economy close to $200 billion per year.

It is no wonder groups from across the political spectrum – from organized labor to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – agree that investing in infrastructure makes sound economic sense.  When spending goes up, both GDP and household incomes grow.  Even the International Monetary Fund – long a proponent of economic austerity – now says that well-designed infrastructure projects spur almost $3 in economic output for each dollar spent."

Statement from Gov. Polis

In times like these, being an American takes priority over being a Republican or not. I am therefore offering a personal donation to hurricane relief efforts of $75 million, and will forgo campaigning until the situation stabilizes.

Marco Rubio's TV Ad

In an effort to attract conservative voters and Trump allies and to halt any Cruz momentum, Rubio’s presidential campaign broadcasts an ad questioning Cruz’s conservative faith and emphasizing on Rubio’s conservative record and accomplishments to show that he’s worthy to lead the Republican Party and become President of the United States.

And he supported a value added tax like they have in Canada and European socialist countries, which will be harmful to new and marginal business activities, make America a harder place to do business and plummet consumerism by taxing it, thus hurting consumers' purchasing power and decrease businesses' competitiveness and their ability to produce, to sell and to create jobs.

Obama and Pelosi said they were open to a value added tax. President Reagan and President Trump opposed it. No wonder that conservatives called the Cruz scheme a liberal's dream because it makes it so easy to raise taxes.

Ted Cruz, too inconsistent and not conservative enough to lead the Republican Party.

Meanwhile, Marco Rubio has fought Obamacare from the very, very beginning until President Trump repealed and replaced it through Trumpcare that strengthened the American people's access to health care by stopping bailing out pharmaceutical companies with taxpayers' money.

He is an unapologetic and unconditional defender of the Second Amendment and the right to self-defense through the possession of a firearm.

As President, Marco Rubio will champion free trade for the sake of America's competitiveness and American businesses' competitiveness in the world economy through lower tariffs.

Source : https://www.freedomworks.org/content/tax-cuts-and-jobs-act-house-and-senate-have-resolve-key-differences
Unlike Senator Cruz, he opposed a VAT just like he opposed any tax increase and he fought for tax reform for all his life, including when he successfully introduced an amendment to double the Child Tax Credit from $1000 to $2000, making the Trump tax cuts broader and permanent and encouraging job creation and lowest unemployment rate in 50 years and he will keep fighting for lower taxes in order to further reinforce the American people's purchasing power and strengthen America's status as the best place in the world to do business, which will get us to full-employment.

So if you want a true conservative of trusted leadership and conservatism to lead this party and to lead America to full-employment, to permanent economic prosperity, to security and to the defense of our God-given rights, then the choice is clear : Marco Rubio.

Marco Rubio : I'm Marco Rubio and I approve this message.

Rubio’s surrogate schedule

Florida Senator Pam Bondi campaigns for Marco Rubio across the state of Florida in an effort to help him to overwhelm Ron DeSantis in the Sunshine State. During rallies in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and in Lakeland, Florida, she praised Rubio’s leadership of protecting the interests of Florida’s citrus industry that represents an important part of the Sunshine State’s economy, citing Rubio’s efforts to advance provisions to the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 to authorize funding for research and relief for Florida’s citrus industry, including a provision to ensure that crop insurance policies be improved to meet the unique needs of Florida growers. She also holds a rally in Palm Bay, Florida where she praised the Vice-President’s efforts to advance America’s space industry as well as space exploration by co-sponsoring the the ‎National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Transition Authorization Act‎ signed by President Trump in 2017 and that provided stability for NASA to sustain and build upon existing national space investments designed to advance space exploration and science. She reiterates Rubio’s pledge that America will send a crewed mission on Mars by 2030.

South Carolina Governor campaigns for Marco Rubio across the state of South Carolina where he praised his leadership of protecting the Second Amendment, reforming the VA to ensure better living conditions and better social services for U.S. military veterans, fighting for tax reform to keep America’s status as a place open for business and fighting to keep the U.S. military strong in order to keep America safe and to defeat terrorism. During a rally in Greenville, South Carolina, he described Rubio as the Republican presidential candidate the most loyal to Donald Trump, citing his support to the President’s efforts to secure the borders, to stand up to China’s economic cheating, to reduce taxes and to defeat radical Islamic terrorism. Governor Bolling takes on the occasion to describe this quality as a contrast to some other candidates like Ben Shapiro, citing Shapiro’s comments in which the co-founder of the Daily Wire said that President Trump’s impeachment should be on table if the Mueller investigation quashed. He declared it as a proof that Shapiro joined the Democrats in their manic obsession to impeach Trump and described it as a clear choice for this country : moving America backwards to corruption and big government or move America forward through the promotion of small government and tax reform as well as energy independence, free trade and strong national defense to keep the United States safe. He called on South Carolinians to cast their vote for Vice-President Rubio and declared that a vote for Rubio is a vote for opportunity for all, for full-employment and permanent security and strength for America. Bolling also holds a rally in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina where he reminded voters that thanks to the efforts given by Donald Trump and Marco Rubio in the last few years, South Carolina’s unemployment rate is at its lowest ever, the same for the unemployment rate among African-Americans (who could be a factor in determining the winner of the South Carolina primary) and called on African-Americans to vote for Rubio in order to pursue that progress for all America through tax reform and small government, which can be done thanks to Rubio’s experience as Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

Tom Cotton campaigns for Marco Rubio in Arkansas and Tennessee, emphasizing on Rubio’s pledge to nominate conservative judges, to reduce taxes for all Americans, to promote free trade, to get the world to nuclear security and to modernize the U.S. military and pursue the counter-terrorism efforts against Boko Haram in West Africa until victory.

Governor DeSantis Speech, Orlando, FL.

"Florida will recover from this hurricane, like it did before. Our brave National Guard, state police, citizens and other relief forces are assisting in rebuilding and helping the victims of this disaster. We're saving people, and protecting people; and once again this experience of Hurricane Derrick reminds us that we need to invest in protection system and structures, and warning systems for any potential storms in the Atlantic, lest a hurricane hit us unguarded."

SECOND DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY DEBATE

Source : https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/07/31/winners-losers-night-one-second-democratic-debate/

Location : Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts

Date : October 17th, 2023

Moderators : Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon of CNN

Cuomo : Hello and Welcome everyone to the Second Democratic Debate live at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. I’m one of your moderators for tonight, Chris Cuomo of CNN.

Lemon : And I’m Don Lemon, also from CNN.The rules are simple : The Candidates tonight are given several questions that they must answer within 90 seconds or less. A Candidate will have 45 seconds to respond if they’re directly mentioned in a candidate’s answer. We ask the Audience to not cheer and yell so the Candidates can focus. Now, let’s meet the Candidates.

Cuomo : First to the Stage is the Newly crowned front-runner and 2020 candidate, California Senator Kamala Harris.

Lemon : Next is Ohio Senator and one of the two runner-ups of this race, Sherrod Brown, who is quickly rising thanks to his White Working Class Appeal and a strong debate Performance in August.

Cuomo : Next we have Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth, who is looking to be the first Iraq War Veteran to become President and is making quite the splash politically.

Lemon : Next is Colorado Governor Jared Polis, who has gained a lot of bipartisan support due to him spending the entire month of September to help those affected by Hurricane Derrick.

Cuomo : Next to the Stage is the former Front-runner, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, who has recently fallen to the wayside as Harris, Duckworth, Brown, and Polis increase their strength.

Lemon : Then, there is Kansas Congresswoman Sharice Davids, who looks to be in trouble in her own district this year despite being above water in recent approval polls.

Cuomo : Finally, there is Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, who is in a distant last place due to a lack of truly energetic campaigning.

Quote
Opening Statements :

General Question #1 : Recently, there has been an upsurge in support of Court Packing from members of the party, such as Indiana Congressman Pete Buttigieg and New Mexico Senator Ben Ray Lujan, in order to balance the court or liberalize the court. However, more moderate Democrats, such as Maine Senator Angus King and Montana Congressman Tom Winter, has stated that while the idea sounds good on paper, it’ll do nothing but energize the Republicans more than the Democrats in this election cycle. How do you stand on the issue and why do you have that feeling?

General Question #2 : The Passing of the Local Fundraising Act, which only allows funds for campaigning for Governor, House, or Senate from that state or district and not elsewhere, has been called a thinly veiled attempt of Republicans trying to halt fundraising for Democratic Candidate while Republicans have argued that if a candidate is popular, they won’t need to have the funds from States like California and Massachusetts. How do you feel about the act and why?

General Question #3 : There is now fear surfacing of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer’s health, as his death could mean that Trump could place a seventh Justice on the Court, which could mean the Court would become a 7-2 Conservative Court. The President has waffled on whether or not he’ll offer a nominee if Breyer indeed dies after the Iowa Caucus, and U.S. Senators Dan Sullivan of Alaska, Rick Scott of Florida, Steve Daines of Montana, and Mitt Romney of Utah have indicated that if Trump brings a Nominee to the court during the election season, they will vote against a hearing until the next President is inaugurated, in which Romney and Scott wouldn’t even be in the Senate. How do you feel about this situation?

General Question #4 : In 2016, Trump won the electoral college but lost the popular vote and because of that, there was a large movement to abolish the Electoral College. However, in 2020, Trump won both the Electoral College and the Popular Vote and ever since, the movement has been stagnating in popularity. Do you think the Electoral College should be abolished? Why do you feel that way?

General Question #5 : Next Month, in November, the states of Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi will vote for their next Governor and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is in danger against Former Republican Lieutenant Governor Jeneane Hampton, who leads in most polls 50-44, and Louisiana is looking to be a distant race with State Senator Jean-Paul Morrell trailing U.S. Senator John Neely Kennedy, who has pledged himself to a single term if elected, in recent polls 57-31 in the race to replace outgoing Governor John Bel Edwards, while Mississippi Governor Jim Hood, with an Approval in the 60s, leads his opponent, Republican Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hoseman, in recent polls 58-38. Also, in Utah’s 4th Congressional District, the citizens of the district will vote between State Senators Deidre Henderson and Luz Escamilla to replace Incumbent U.S. Senator Mia Love in the House, with Henderson leading Escamilla 51-47 in recent polls. Which races are the most important to you and how will make sure the Democratic Candidate wins them?

Kamala Harris Question #1 : Senator, you ran in 2020 but failed to gain the nomination at the Democratic National Convention that year. What will be different this time round?

Kamala Harris Question #2 : Senator, Your record as Attorney General of California has turned off some progressive voters from you and your credibility has been damaged because of that. As such, what is your next plan of action to ensure you gain their support and later win the Nomination?

Sherrod Brown Question #1 : Senator, you have shown yourself to be more moderate and because of that, many have flocked to you, helping your poll numbers. However, many progressives in the Party have shunned you and would rather support another candidate as opposed to you. How will you attempt to appeal to the Progressives who have said that they will never support you if you’re the Nominee?

Sherrod Brown Question #2 : If you fail in this Presidential Bid, you will run for re-election to the Senate, as you’ve made clear. However, the top three candidates the Republicans are considering fielding this year are Representative Anthony Gonzalez, who is currently running for the Republican Nomination, Representative Bill Beagle, Speaker of the House Jim Jordan, and State Senator Rob McColley, and all polls show you being in a tough spot for re-election against those opponents. Yet, your seat would be crucial in giving the Senate to the Democrats, as well as the key states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. How will you ensure you aren’t defeated this year if this bid fails?

Tammy Duckworth Question #1 : Senator, if you win the Nomination and the election, you would be the first woman President and the first Iraq War Veteran President, meaning you ascending would be a tremendous honor for everyone.Yet many believe you aren’t ready for the job and many have silent thoughts that a woman is too emotional to be President. How do you respond to these statements?

Tammy Duckworth Question #2 : Despite entering the race as a relative unknown nation-wide, you have quickly made a name for yourself has been able to tie with Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown in many polls. What do you think is the key to your current success?

Jared Polis Question #1 : Governor, you are from the state of Colorado, which has recently become a likely Democratic State over the years despite voting for Trump in 2020. As such, many state that the only state you could be able to add to the Democratic Column is maybe Arizona, which, while giving 12 Electoral Votes to the Democrats, wouldn’t be as important as winning the rust belt. How do you respond to people saying that you aren’t a good choice because of your state?

Jared Polis Question #2 : Governor, you have brought up fears that Obergefell v. Hodges will try to be overturned by the Lee Court. However, on September 28th, Chief Justice Mike Lee stated that Obergefell v. Hodges is already settled law and won’t be touched by any court as long as he is chief justice. How do you feel about Chief Justice Lee’s statements?

Tim Kaine Question #1 : Senator, some consider you too boring and too much of a moderate to be the nominee come the fall. What is your response to these allegations?

Tim Kaine Question #2 : Senator, in 2016, you were the running mate of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton but you didn’t run in 2020, nor has your former Running Mate endorsed you for President. Why is that, despite the obvious of her husband dying last month?

Sharice Davids Question #1 : Congresswoman, you have shown to be in trouble in many polls in your home district and you have never won a race above the recount margin. How can you convince the Democratic Party that you are indeed a strong candidate and can be great for the Presidency?

Sharice Davids Question #2 : Congresswoman, you are from the solidly Republican State of Kansas, which went to President Trump in 2020 by 35 points as well as see Kris Kobach be sent to the Senate by 17 points. Thus, many don’t believe you have much of a chance of winning the state should you be the Nominee. If you aren’t Nominated, however, there are hopes to run you for Senate or Governor in 2026, where polls see you leading Senator Kobach 47-45 or trailing Governor Yoder 48-43. If this run isn’t successful, what will be the next phase of your career?

Chris Murphy Question #1 : Senator, many have called your campaign for President unenergetic and that you seem like you truly don’t care when running for the office. How do you feel about these statements about your campaign?

Chris Murphy Question #2 : Senator, you voted against the Veterans Financial Care Protection Act in 2021. What is the argument of the vote against it?

Closing Statement :

Lemon : And that’s the Debate.

Cuomo : We hope you enjoyed tonight’s debate and we encourage you to tune in to the Second Republican Debate in 11 days. Thank you and Goodnight.

SECOND REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY DEBATE

Source : https://www.glamour.com/story/recap-the-second-republican-de

Location : Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas

Date : October 28th, 2023

Moderators : Juju Chang and Micheal Strahan of ABC News

Chang : Hello and Welcome everyone to the Second Republican Debate live at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas. I’m one of your moderators for tonight, Juju Chang of ABC News.

Strahan : And I’m Micheal Strahan, also from ABC News. We also have Governor Kevin Yoder paying a visit to the debate stage tonight personally. Now, onto the Debate. The rules are simple : The Candidates tonight are given several questions that they must answer within 90 seconds or less. A Candidate will have 45 seconds to respond if they’re directly mentioned in a candidate’s answer. We ask the Audience to not cheer and yell so the Candidates can focus. Now, let’s meet the Candidates.

Chang : First to the Stage Vice President Marco Rubio of Florida, who battles strong opposition as the Republican Frontrunner against Ted Cruz and Ron DeSantis while dealing with attacks due to his silence on President Trump’s tweeting.

Strahan : Next is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who many Trumpists still see as the True Heir to the President and his Approval has very much skyrocketed due to his handling of Hurricane Emily last month.

Strahan : Next is South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem who really made a name for herself in the Last Debate thanks to her incredible story and her statement that she will be President for all citizens of the country.

Chang : Next we have Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who was considered for Attorney General in 2019 and for the position of Chief Justice earlier this year when John Roberts retired.

Strahan : Then we have Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, who barely won re-election last year against Stacy Abrams, winning by 3.6%.

Chang : Then, there is Puerto Rico Governor Ivan Rodriguez, who is in a distant fourth place tie with Mr. Shapiro after an averagely good performance in the August Debate and spirited campaigning.

Strahan : Then we have Conservative Political Commentator Ben Shapiro of California, who has been making a solid name for himself due to his debate skills and hardline conservative beliefs.

Chang : Then, there is Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, who is one of the most popular governors in the country and didn’t have a Democratic Challenger last year.

Strahan : Finally, there is Ohio Congressman Anthony Gonzalez, who has gotten a lot of Negativity from voters stating that he is running a blatantly racist campaign against white people, who are the majority of the Republican electorate.

Quote
Opening Statements :

General Question #1 : President Trump has recently recognized the Armenian Genocide and called out the nations of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan for Human Rights Abuses and harboring Osama Bin Laden, allowing him to strengthen ties with Iran, India, and Iraq into the proposed Tehran Pact, at the risk of losing influence in Turkey and the Latter two countries to Russia and China. How do you feel about what the President has done?

General Question #2 : For many years, Trump’s tweets have been points of controversy for the party. He has tweeted many things that are considered insensitive, such as his tweet against against Democrats in August. How do you feel about the President’s tweets.

General Question #3 : This Question is just like the Third Question at the Democratic Debate. There is now fear from Democrats surfacing of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer’s health, as his death could mean that Trump could place a seventh Justice on the Court, which could mean the Court would become a 7-2 Conservative Court. The President has waffled on whether or not he’ll offer a nominee if Breyer indeed dies after the Iowa Caucus, and U.S. Senators Dan Sullivan of Alaska, Rick Scott of Florida, Steve Daines of Montana, Ben Sasse of Nebraska, and Mitt Romney of Utah have indicated that if Trump brings a Nominee to the court during the election season, they will vote against a hearing until the next President is inaugurated, in which Romney and Scott wouldn’t even be in the Senate. How do you feel about this situation?

General Question #4 : The Republicans have held the White House for eight years, thus making many believe that the political pendulum will swing for the Democrats to win in November of this year. There are others who believe that the Republican will win the election this year and become the next President, thus giving 12 years of Republican rule of the White House. How will you campaign to make the election as tight as possible and perhaps even win it despite the odds being against your party?

General Question #5 : This Question is just like the fifth Question at the Democratic Debate. Next Month, in November, the states of Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi will vote for their next Governor and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is in danger against Former Republican Lieutenant Governor Jeneane Hampton, who leads in most polls 50-44, and Louisiana is looking to be an already called race with State Senator Jean-Paul Morrell trailing U.S. Which races are the most important to you and how will make sure the Republican Candidate wins them?

Marco Rubio Question #1 : Mr. Vice President, this question goes for you and Governor DeSantis. You, him, and Ted Cruz are polling the highest in the Republican Primary as of right now. There is a very likely chance that one of you two will lose Florida to the other. If that is the case, Mr. Vice President, will you drop out or will you continue campaigning? If neither of you two win the Florida Primary, what will your campaigns do?

Marco Rubio Question #2 : Mr.Vice President, you have been noticeably silent whenever the President tweets, leading some supporters to ditch you for Shapiro or Noem. Why are you silent when the President tweets?

Ron DeSantis Question #1 : Governor, you have received a large bounce in your approval thanks to your handling of Hurricane Emily last Month, with an approval sitting at 79% that has refused to go down for this entire month. With the Hurricane now a month behind you, why do you think your approval remains so high in Florida?

Ron DeSantis Question #2 : Governor, you have been floated as a potential Senate Candidate in case the Presidential bid doesn’t work out for you. However, there are those stating that you should serve out your term as Governor until 2027 to ensure that your seat remains in Republican hands due to your popularity there, as there have been suggestions for Representatives Matt Gaetz, Byron Donalds, or Manny Diaz Jr. to run for the Senate Seat. What will be your choice?

Kristi Noem Question #1 : Governor, if you achieve the Nomination, you would be the first Woman to win the Republican Nomination in the Party’s history. Many have floated Michigan Senator John James as a potential running mate of yours should you get the Republican Nomination, which would make him the first African American Running Mate in the party’s history. How do you feel about this very suggestion as of right now?

Kristi Noem Question #2 : Governor, You clashed with President Trump on Twitter in August and because of this, some of his more ardent supporters that liked you support DeSantis now. How will you attempt to win those supporters back and gain more as time goes on?

Ted Cruz Question #1 : Senator, you are relatively popular in the state of Texas, with an approval sitting at 57% to a disapproval of 35 %, yet it is unknown if you will run for a third term, considering your harsh feelings to lifers and your campaigning to limit Congressional terms. If you don’t run for a third term, who will you endorse to hold the seat in November?

Ted Cruz Question #2 : Senator, you have been brought up as a potential choice for Supreme Court Justice many times by President Trump in the past 4 years and Justice Breyer’s health issues have made many curious to see if you’d be picked as the next nominee to the SCOTUS. What is your feeling on the matter and if you’d rather see someone else get the appointment, who is it?

Brian Kemp Question #1 : Governor, despite your ties to Trump and your approval being at 53-45-7, you barely defeated your 2018 opponent Stacy Abrams by 3.6% last year where as your counterpart, Ron DeSantis, easily won his re-election bid. Even if you are from the swing state of Georgia, many believe you just won’t have what it takes to run a successful campaign. How do you respond?

Brian Kemp Question #2 : Governor, your campaign has just started but many believe it won’t be as successful as you think due to the party having practically coalesced around Rubio and DeSantis as the Party Frontrunners. Do you believe you have a chance for the Nomination and why?

Ivan Rodriguez Question #1 : Governor, many are curious as to how a Puerto Rican can run for President. You would be the first President not born in a state but instead a territory in US History. How would you feel about such an idea?

Ivan Rodriguez Question #2 : Governor, your handling of Hurricane Derrick has kept your approval rating relatively high so far, there isn’t a doubt you’ll win reelection next year. However, fears have emerged that should you get the Nomination, you could hand the territory’s governorship to the Democrats. If you do get the Nomination, how would you make sure the New Progressive Party and Republican Party hands?

Ben Shapiro Question #1 : Mr. Shaprio, you come from the overwhelmingly liberal state of California, thus leading to many to ask if a few views of yours are potentially swayed by your liberal surroundings. How would you respond to those saying you aren’t conservative enough because of your home state?

Ben Shapiro Question #2 : Mr. Shapiro, you have been suggested as a potential Nominee for the Supreme Court by President Trump in recent months, with the President stating in September “Mr. Shapiro is perhaps one of the smartest people in the country and would make sure the Court stays Conservative for a long time if appointed.. How do you feel about the potential and if you are against the idea, who do you support to become the next Justice should Associate Justice Breyer die?

Anthony Gonzalez Question #1 : Congressman, your recent statements have been accused of being underhandedly racist, with you claiming that “We can no longer be the party of old white men!” as well as having a major issue with the RNC and DNC choosing Delaware instead of Nevada because of the state being over 70% White, among other reasons. Congressman, is there anything wrong with being old, white, and a man?

Anthony Gonzalez Question #2 : Congressman, should you fail in this Presidential Bid, many state you would be a great candidate for Senate this year or Governor in 2026, yet many state you wouldn’t be the best choice considering your past statements in this race. What is the next step in your career if you aren’t nominated by the party?

Charlie Baker Question #1 : Governor, you come from the highly Democratic State of Massachusetts and the very liberal North Eastern part of the country. As you know, the Republican Party has become increasingly more conservative over the years. Do you think a liberal republican such as yourself can win the nomination of a conservative party?

Charlie Baker Question #1 : Governor, your stances are at odds with many in the party, such as your belief that it’s a woman’s right to choose to have an abbortion, your support of gun control, and raising taxes in Massachusetts. However, those pale in comparison to your support of Obama’s SCOTUS Nominee Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. As you know, President Trump has almost remade the Judicial branch of Government into one of the most Conservative ones in history. How can Republican Voters at home trust that you will make sure more conservative, rather than liberal and moderate, justices will be appointed?

Closing Statement :

Chang : And that’s the Debate.

Strahan : We hope you enjoyed tonight’s debate. Thank you and Goodnight.

Ivan Rodríguez debate answers part 1

Opening:Its great to be here along with the the other candidates here running and to be here with someone who is a member of a another sports Hall of Fame like me Michael Strahan!  Cooperstown and Canton both in the same room *He laughed*

1.I think the President is doing a great job when it comes to countries that don’t have human rights. It is horrible what they do in those countries like Saudi Arabia and majority of the people there wish they were like us and had the same human rights like us.   Christians in both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are horribly treated and aren’t even treated like citizens and more like slaves.   I support President Trump and hope that we can work with those other countries and help them bring a better future to Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

2.I feel like the President’s tweets are very divisive and they don’t do a good job helping him out and make him more popular towards people throughout the years.  While I think has done a good job besides that I think that is inebriate of the worst parts of this presidency.  That’s fine with the president wants to post some funny and unique things here and there but at the same time he needs to respect free speech and the freedom of the press.

3.Well I feel like there should be background checks on nominees for the Supreme Court to make sure that unlike what’s happened with Kavanaugh and make sure there is no shady history involved with the nominees past and that he/she is well quirked for the job.  I don’t want to create anymore  controversy when it comes to confirmation hearing and give more things to the Democrats so they can use against us.

4.I think we need to get our message across that we can be more than just the Party of Trump and that we have the better ideas message for the future.  If you go to my website you can see my campaign ideas and see how they can run on those without the fear of being  connected with Trump.

We need to keep the senate seats in the south as the Democrats seem they want to reclaim the south again and we need to make sure we don’t have another 2018 again when it comes to the house.

SECOND REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY DEBATE

Source : https://www.glamour.com/story/recap-the-second-republican-de

Location : Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas

Date : October 28th, 2023

Quote
Opening Statements : I'm running for President because I know what not being the richest is like, not being the best educated, and to have a small business being your livelihood. To live this way is what many Americans face, and yet this country is run by folks from elite schools and wealthy backgrounds. Too much of the time, politicians don't step out of fundraisers or backrooms to meet constituents and ask what they think. I've been to places where people don't normally go in campaigns. Safe red states, safe blue states, "flyover country" in my home state of South Dakota, and "poor inner cities" in the Bronx alike. I've been there, and I've listened. Sure, maybe these people don't have the money of the big dollar donors, or the fortune to live in battlegrounds where politicians will go and at least pretend to care about what they have to say, but they are Americans and need to be heard. They have important concerns that many in Congress don't hear because they're taken for granted. In the Bronx, New York, people care about crime, and in West Virginia people worry about Job loss and drug addiction. If you feel ignored, a vote for me is a vote to end that. Its time our government stops working for itself and starts working for the people.

I think what the president did here was smart and necessary. The Armenian Genocide happened and it is important to say so. In addition, Saudi Arabia has abused human rights for years, particularly women and the gay community while also being very friendly to terrorist networks. Pakistan also has strong ties to terror groups. With friends like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, who needs enemies? Iran's government is now a friend to America, which is one of the greatest successes of the Trump administration. India and Iraq are countries with bright futures who are friendly as well, and are far more preferable then having to prop up failing human rights abusing countries who harbor terrorist cells. If we can pull this off successfully, which a Noem administration will, we could set our country on a much brighter path for the future.

General Question #2 : For many years, Trump’s tweets have been points of controversy for the party. He has tweeted many things that are considered insensitive, such as his tweet against against Democrats in August. How do you feel about the President’s tweets.

The President is a smart man who is very capable, but these tweets are setting his agenda so far back its not even funny. I think the President is very smart that he's been able to harness twitter to cut through the press spin and get his message to the American people. But too often the President uses Twitter to put out hurtful messages that distract and divide and that helps no one. I think they can be utilized better to ensure the American people get a more transparent and responsive government.

I feel that the confirmation process should be held to the same standard as it was in 2016. It wouldn't be fair if it wasn't. But that being said, I would make sure that we can win the 2024 election and can place a conservative judge on the court in 2025. Thats really all there is to say. We need to hold ourselves to the same standards we held Democrats to.

I'm not here to have a close election, I'm here to win. We need someone who is willing to leave the confines of "traditional Republican voters" and I can do that. I think we need a ticket that can crack Democratic Strangleholds on urban and minority voters. We need someone who is willing to care and listen. When I went into inner cities in my Forgotten Communities tour, so many people told me I was wasting my time. "These people don't vote in Republican Primaries and they certainly don't vote for Republicans in the General." Thats what I was told. But I went, and people came and listened to me. And I listened to them. People came to me talking about Crime, Drug addiction, and Taxes. We had productive conversations and I'm glad I went, talking to people from different people from different places really opened up my eyes and I think we need to do it more often, because we usually see our party write people in cities off. The care about crime, and their taxes are too high too. We just need to let them know we care.

Which races are the most important to you and how will make sure the Republican Candidate wins them?

I believe supporting Hampton in Kentucky and State Sen. Henderson is vital to our party, not only because they are important races, both in terms of our parties short and long term success. Kentucky is a strongly Republican state and we need to keep it that way. Utah's 4th District is one of those suburban seats we need to win nationally for control house and ultimately the presidency. Not only that, but both would help diversify this party. America is diversifying and so should our party. I feel so strongly about these races importance I will be making appearances with both Lieutenant Governor Hampton and State Senator Henderson myself in the coming month.

John is a phenomenal senator, and a great friend. I would never finalize a VP pick so early into the nominating process, but John is an excellent pick for the unique story and insight he would bring to the ticket. John is a great communicator for our party and would do fantastic on the campaign trail and on the debate stage. I would be proud to call John my Vice President should I be elected.

Kristi Noem Question #2 : Governor, You clashed with President Trump on Twitter in August and because of this, some of his more ardent supporters that liked you support DeSantis now. How will you attempt to win those supporters back and gain more as time goes on?

The President and I have much more in common than not. I just believe that the president was acting against the countries best interests by making offensive tweets that hurt more than heal. I'm not going to take anything back. But all I will say is that a Noem administration will be focused on helping Americans by slashing taxes and keeping government out of Americans lives. I would use Twitter to listen to Americans than use it to hurl insults.

Closing Statement : Have you ever been counted out? Or demeaned, we don't need more of the people doing the demeaning in Government. I came in to the House after knocking an Incumbent off, and was written off as unqualified, both by my opponent and the media afterwards. Why? I ran a small business and was a member of the State House for 4 years, but nope I was unqualified because I didn't have a college degree. I was putting myself through college while I was a congresswoman because I had to drop out after my father died when I was younger, and was mocked as the "worlds most powerful intern for it." I won't look at your address, education level or bank account before talking to you, I'll look at you.

Tammy Duckworth Debate Answers

Quote
Opening statement:

I stand before you today as someone who loves her country. It's that love that pushed me into service in the Army, then in Congress, and now to run for President. I believe we are better than what we've seen the past 8 years, that we can both love our country and fix what is not working within it. I stand before you today, quite literally, because of the quality healthcare I received after losing my legs. Americans deserve that same quality of care, whether they are deployed or here at home. It's not acceptable that the wealthiest country in the world allows its people to go broke just because they got sick. As your President, I will work to make sure that this stops now.

Quote
General Question #1 : Recently, there has been an upsurge in support of Court Packing from members of the party, such as Indiana Congressman Pete Buttigieg and New Mexico Senator Ben Ray Lujan, in order to balance the court or liberalize the court. However, more moderate Democrats, such as Maine Senator Angus King and Montana Congressman Tom Winter, has stated that while the idea sounds good on paper, it’ll do nothing but energize the Republicans more than the Democrats in this election cycle. How do you stand on the issue and why do you have that feeling?

I've spoken against court packing in the past, and I stand by my opposition. More than energize Republicans, court packing would be weld by them in order to ensure their majority. If we have learned anything from this administration, it should be that the powers of the Presidency come with much weight, and they can be abused by bad actors in office. We can not rely on the good nature of our counterparts in order for an idea to be viable, we have to create real reform to the Courts. That means cyclical terms for Justices, ensuring each President has her turn using the power of appointment, and that the rights of people around the nation do not hinge on one progressive Justice's health.

Quote
General Question #2 : The Passing of the Local Fundraising Act, which only allows funds for campaigning for Governor, House, or Senate from that state or district and not elsewhere, has been called a thinly veiled attempt of Republicans trying to halt fundraising for Democratic Candidate while Republicans have argued that if a candidate is popular, they won’t need to have the funds from States like California and Massachusetts. How do you feel about the act and why?

Republicans don't believe any one wealthy person can donate too much money, but believe that too many people can donate at the grassroots level. I believe this is a backwards way to look at elections. I've long said that there is too much dark money in our politics, but to think that energy on the ground is the problem is laughable. The true problem is that many politicians are funded by corporations, not the people, and that's why my campaign has rejected corporate PAC funding. As President, I will be exploring public funding for elections to even the playing field, and reducing the influence of money in our elections.
Quote

In 2015, Mitch McConnell decided that Supreme Court nomination hearings can not take place during an election year, beginning a precedent. Donald Trump was not opposed to this then, and even used it as a rallying cry for voters put off by his racist rhetoric, and he should absolutely not nominate someone in an election year. I hope my colleagues in the Senate hold Donald Trump to the same standard that President Obama was held to. This issue further illuminates the fact that we need reform in our court systems. Lifetime appointments mean something very different now compared to when our founders were around, and the Supreme Court needs term limits that are cycled for each seat, that way the diversity of experience is still recognized.

Quote
General Question #4 : In 2016, Trump won the electoral college but lost the popular vote and because of that, there was a large movement to abolish the Electoral College. However, in 2020, Trump won both the Electoral College and the Popular Vote and ever since, the movement has been stagnating in popularity. Do you think the Electoral College should be abolished? Why do you feel that way?

Yes, the Electoral College should be abolished. The Electoral College has gone against the will of the people twice in my lifetime, and very well could again in this election. Its continued existence reinforces the belief that the system isn't fair, and that elites are pulling the strings, as literal elected elites are casting the true ballot for the President of the United States. The power to decide the future of this country belongs to the people, not some individuals hand picked by state parties.

Quote

I believe all of these races are important, along with the legislative elections in Virginia. I fully intend to support Democrats in each of these races, and to show up wherever I can be helpful. I have and will continue to hold events with the candidates in these races, run ads in their support, and raise money for them. It is paramount that Democrats hold Kentucky and Mississippi, as the governor of each of those states has immense ability to veto radical legislation that comes out of the legislature, as well as keeping schools fully funded and teachers paid fairly.

Quote
Tammy Duckworth Question #1 : Senator, if you win the Nomination and the election, you would be the first woman President and the first Iraq War Veteran President, meaning you ascending would be a tremendous honor for everyone.Yet many believe you aren’t ready for the job and many have silent thoughts that a woman is too emotional to be President. How do you respond to these statements?

In 2004, I was in the middle of getting my PhD, when I was deployed to Iraq. There, a grenade fired by insurgents took down my Blackhawk helicopter, causing me to lose both of my legs. Since then, I have dedicated my life to public service, spearheading the change to allow babies on the Senate floor, making airports more accessible to parents, and giving veterans support to start small businesses. I would take my experience and resume over that of the current President's any day.

Quote
Tammy Duckworth Question #2 : Despite entering the race as a relative unknown nation-wide, you have quickly made a name for yourself has been able to tie with Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown in many polls. What do you think is the key to your current success?

I believe my campaign is resonating because voters are hungry for a candidate that speaks to voters in the Midwest. Beyond being from a Midwestern state, a focus on progressive pragmatism, results oriented politics, and real, impactful reforms are what Democratic voters are looking for. Those values are the foundation for my campaign, and why I'm running for President. It's time to expand the ACA, allowing Medicare for those who want it, reforms to the courts, and a serious focus on infrastructure, including a broadband for all plan and a green jobs program.

Quote
Closing statement:

I'd like to thank the moderators, CNN, and Boston University for hosting this debate. Thank you to all who have attended, and everyone who is watching at home. For 8 years, we've had scandal after scandal, partisanship, and a level of toxicity in our politics that we haven't seen in decades. We need a President who will lead, a President who will fight for equal pay and paid family leave, a President that will speak to concerns facing America, not getting into Twitter fights. It's time for us to move on from what we've been, and more forward to a better tomorrow.

Rojava has launched Kurdish independence revolutions across the Middle East, including in Turkey, Iraq and Iran. That is not through violence that they are going to settle the problem, this is just going to destabilize the Middle East again and spoil all the progress we have made in this region in the last few years after we defeated ISIS. Our administration will work hard to look for a diplomatic solution.

Source : https://miamiherald.typepad.com/nakedpolitics/2016/08/rudy-giuliani-is-still-mad-at-charlie-crist.html
Twenty-two years ago, America suffered one of its darkest hours in history when Al Qaeda orchestrated the deadliest attack on our country on September 11th 2001 when 2 planes controlled by radical Islamic terrorist hit the World Trade Center, killing 3000 people. My leadership during and in the aftermath of 9/11 was very appreciated as I ordered authorities to close tunnels as a precautionary measure and as we organized the support of state and federal authorities for the World Trade Center site, for citywide anti-terrorist measures, and for restoration of destroyed infrastructure. Since then, we rebuilt the World Trade Center on the same site, which so many, including me, consider as a victory of life over death. Since then, strong progress has been made to combat terrorism as we declared war on terror and used military force against radical Islamic terrorism, we defeated Al Qaeda and ISIS in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, etc. and we eliminated Osama Bin Laden and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Under Donald Trump, we secured our borders. Thanks to President Trump's strong diplomacy and moves to keep our military strong, we got North Korea and Iran to the negotiating table and got the world to the denuclearization of these 2 countries, strengthening global peace.

And last year, we suffered another terrorist attack in San Francisco, an attack launched by Boko Haram. We made it clear that we will never surrender to terrorism so we and our allies took military action against Boko Haram in West Africa where we are leading airstrikes against them. And Russia has been challenging us on so many different fronts : in terms of military power, in terms of influence in the Middle East and in terms of territorial claims in their benefit like in Eastern Europe, in Northern Pacific and in the Arctic. Vice-President Marco Rubio has the right foreign policy expertise and knowledge to keep America safe and that's why I'm proud to endorse his candidacy for President of the United States of America.

What I did for New York, Marco Rubio will do for America. As a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and as Vice-President of the United States, he knows what it takes to defeat terrorism and keep America safe. He will keep our military strong and modernize it, the same for our security measures, he will keep our alliances strong and expand them, he will provide our allies all the necessary military material and training to help them defeat Boko Haram and he will work with our allies to ratify the Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty to accomplish our world's path towards permanent nuclear security.

I noticed that every Republican presidential candidate that I endorsed in the last 2 decades (since 2000, precisely) has went on to win the New York Republican primary and the Republican presidential nomination. So, New York, you can once again make the difference in this race and decide of the outcome of this Republican presidential primary race. So I call on you, New York, to join our crusade for a strong and safe America because with Marco Rubio as President of the United States, there won't be any new 9/11.

Thank you. God bless you. God bless New York, God bless Marco Rubio and God bless America.

Source : https://photos5.appleinsider.com/gallery/24017-31023-rubio-l.jpg
For a long, long time, China has been opressed by a communist regime that restricted the Chinese people's right to protest, to express, to speak out, etc. through violence as we saw time and again in Tiananmen and the 2019 protests in Hong Kong. But all of this will change, I'm certain, as China caved in to international pressure and decided to hold a referendum on whether to transit towards democracy in April 2024. In addition, the referendum referendum will be overseen by United Nations Elections Officials to make sure there is no evidence of voter fraud, which will ensure the victory of the Yes option as the Chinese people wants change after 75 years of opression and dictatorship. These are great news for international peace and democracy because it will nark the democratization of the second most populous country in the world. With a democratic China, we're going to get another major counterweight to Russia's influence in the Sea of Okhotsk due to China's military power. And I hope that a democratic China will turn the page to currency manipulation and adopt honest trade policies. And a democratic China will mark an end to a remnant of the Cold War. The outcome of this referendum will finally be up to the Chinese people and will not be rigged. So let's pray for the Chinese people to succeed their path to freedom, democracy and justice.

In a few weeks, the people of the great state of Kentucky will have an important choice to make in this time of economic prosperity with the lowest unemployment America has known in the last 50 years, strong security for our country and strong liberty thanks to the most conservative Supreme Court. This is an important choice and you need to make it right.

In the last 4 years, Andy Beshear has repeatedly disappointed the people of Kentucky and is not listening to their interests. During that period, Governor Beshear supported an expansion of Obamacare that was reducing the American people's access to health care by bailing out pharmaceutical companies with taxpayers' money. Beshear also supported Barack Obama's War on Coal that imposed regulations on America's coal industry, that represents an important part of Kentucky's economy. He restricted Kentuckians' Second Amendment rights through stricter gun control policies and also allowed several abortions by authorizing taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood. These are not values shared by the people of Kentucky.

Meanwhile, Jenean Hampton is fighting for you. She proudly served our country as Captain in the U.S. Air Force for 7 years during which she fought the Gulf War when she was responsible for radar software used in tracking enemy planes and in search and rescue missions. After that, Jenean spent 19 years working in the corrugated packaging industry, eventually reaching the position of plant manager. So she knows what it takes to create jobs, get businesses working and make Kentucky a place open for business just like Donald Trump and I did and are doing for America. That's why she will lower Kentuckians' taxes for the sake of a stronger purchasing power for them and to make it easier for businesses to do business in Kentucky. As Governor of Kentucky, Jenean Hampton will defend your Second Amendment rights as well as the life of the unborn because she is listening to you, we are listening to you because we know these are your values and that's how we're going to win this race that could also mark a great accomplishment by the Bluegrass State :  the election of the first woman and first African-American as Governor of Kentucky.

So Kentucky, we need you to go to the polls at the highest number possible in order to elect Jenean Hampton as your next Governor. Thank you. God bless Kentucky and God bless America.

Source : https://www.charismanews.com/politics/49186-hispanic-christians-celebrating-marco-rubio-s-candidacy
We are celebrating the Hispanic Heritage Month , a month where we celebrate the Hispanic community’s contributions to America’s exceptionalism and prosperity as well as the strength of the common values that unite and enrich our nation. I'm very proud to be from a state that has a very large Hispanic population.

Mi visión de America en el futuro cuando los hispanos están un porcentaje muy alto de nuestra población es que nosotros verá enriquecida por su música, su cultura, su alimentaria, su indioma y, sobre todo, su amor por America.

Most of these people came from places like Cuba or Venezuela, where they were deprived of human rights by a two-bit dictator depriving them of their opportunities to move forward.

Our political opponents are trying to dismantle the free enterprise system, the only economic system that made it possible for people like my parents to prosper and to live the American Dream.

Ivan Rodriguez debate answers part 2

1.Well we have the same president and we go buy the same rules as the United States so I don’t see why a Puerto Rican shouldn’t be able to run for office of POTUS.

2.Well I am a very biparstian governor you can look at the record and I think my history can show that I will be able to work to keep my party in power.

My friend Senator Pam Bondi recently introduce to the Senate the Local Fundraising Act that would allow only funds for campaigning for Senate, House or Governor from the state in question, which means that a candidate wouldn't be able to raise funding from California or New York, etc. if they are campaigning for a seat in Texas, for example. I remember that when I ran for Senate here in Florida in 2010, my opponent Charlie Crist raised most of his campaign funds in Washington D.C. I guess the people of Florida partly sanctionned him on that along with his support to then Obama agenda such as Obamacare and big government. And I proudly support Senator Bondi on her efforts to introduce that legislation in order to restore integrity in campaign fundraising because a race for an office is decided by the people of the state concerned, not anyone else. And I support these efforts for the sake of a stronger and fairer democracy so I call on Congress to pass this bill and make it a law.

We are better off now than we were 7 years ago, including in terms of advancing our path to energy independence. After 8 years of big government, regulations on oil and coal production, we turned things around and under President Trump we ended the War on Coal, promoted clean coal technologies, increased permits and liscenses on federal lands and we approved the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline and of the Dakota Access pipeline. All of the energy policies of the last few years made a great contribution to the economic prosperity that America is now living. As a result, we preserved America's status as the first oil producer in the world, a status contested by Russia and Saudi Arabia and we are now on the right track towards energy independence. Here is my energy plan to accomplish our transition to energy independence if I'm elected President of the United States : we need to pursue our efforts to take advantage of our sources of energy, of our oil, gas, coal, nuclear, wind, solar and hydroelectricity. We will approve the construction of a pipeline from Alaska to Texas through Canada in order to facilitate oil production and oil transportation and we will promote offshore drilling in ANWR. Instead of doing it through higher taxes on the American people and on the energy industry like the Democrats are suggesting, we're going to use a part of the revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable energies. That way, we can promote both economic growth while ensuring a clean environment at the same time and encourage further job creation through the development of green energies. That way we're going to get America to permanent economic prosperity, to an improvement of our ecological footprint and to energy independence. That way, we can deprive terrorist organizations of revenues from our energy dependence and from our imports of oil from countries in throes of terrorism, thus reinforcing our national security. Thanks to this plan, we will keep moving America forward in so many different ways : economically, environmentally, in terms of energy independence and in terms of national security.

-Vice-President Rubio campaigns for Deirdre Henderson in Salt Lake City, Utah :

Source : https://www.cbsnews.com/news/five-things-to-know-about-marco-rubio/

On November 7, voters from Utah's 4th congressional district will have a choice to make, a choice that will decide balance of power in Washington : either we move backwards with the addition of another voice opposing our agenda or we keep moving America forward by keeping this House seat under Republican hands in order to keep championing tax reform, strong national defense, defense of the Second Amendment and protection of the Constitution. This race seems to be close. That's why voters need to see the differences between the 2 candidates running for Congress in this district.

Luz Escamilla has proven over and over again to be out of step with Utah voters, including those from Utah's 4th congressional district. In the Utah Senate, she voted against reducing state sales taxes and voted against establishing a tax credit for cable providers. She also opposed prohibitting abortion after 18 weeks. On guns, Escamilla opposed exempting firearms, firearm actions or receivers, and firearm accessories and ammunition that are manufactured in Utah from federal laws and regulations. And she opposed authorizing concealed carry of a firearm without a permit. She can't be trusted to defend your values at the House of Representatives.

On the other hand, we got a decent candidate in Deidre Henderson. She knows what it takes to keep this economy working for all Americans as she worked as a business consultant and served in the Business, Labor, and Economic Development Appropriations Subcommittee in the Utah Senate. As Congresswoman, she will fight to keep your taxes low so you can earn a strong purchasing power and so we can preserve America's status as the best business-friendly environment in the world. These are policies that allowed America, including Utah, to prosper and reduced Utah's unemployment to 2.8 %, the lowest rate ever. Deidre will fight to defend your Second Amendment rights and your right to self-defense and will allow unborn babies to earn a chance to appreciate life. She is committed for you and you can trust her to represent you and defend your values in the House of Representatives. So we need you to mobilize on and before Election Day in order to get Deidre Henderson elected to Congress and she will fight every single day to defend Utah's values and support our agenda in order to move pursue America's progress through lower taxes, strong national security and defense of your constitutional rights.

Thank you. God bless Utah and God bless America.

Source : https://www.businessinsider.com/marco-rubio-florida-state-diss-2015-9
Recently, Burundi Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda formed the East African Federation that is now the third largest country in Africa. The President is now working to establish deals with the EAF which I think is a first step towards a possible free trade deal between the United States and the African continent, which will help California's wine producers to compete with South African wine, allow our oil industry to compete with Nigeria's as well as in North Africa and help Namibia, for example, to become Africa's top exporter of uranium. Such trade deals will definitely be mutual for both America and Africa. So as President of the United States I will work hard to establish strong relations between the United States and African nations, relations that will strengthen our economies and we will fight to defend and expand human rights in this continent and together, thanks to strong defense relations, we will defeat terrorism in Western Africa.

I'm proud to have helped President Trump in his quest to make America great again. President Trump and I made great accomplishments for America, including strong borders, denuclearization of North Korea, countered China's economic threat and passed the largest tax cuts in history, which reduced our unemployment at its lowest rate in 5 decades and created 6 million jobs in the last 6 years. And I am proud of my successor as VP, Marco Rubio, on his service and contribution to help President Trump pursuing America's progress, strength, prosperity and greatness. Together, they defeated ISIS in Syria and Iraq, advanced the creation of the U.S. Space Force, keep championing tax reform, got the world to the denuclearization of Iran, are leading America to energy independence and gave us the most conservative SCOTUS in American history.

And I'm here to announce my endorsement to Marco Rubio for President of the United States because he has the best ability among the Republican field to open the Republican Party's doors to new voters, including young people, Hispanics, Jewish, Asian-Americans, etc. and also because he has the best experience to lead America. As a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship and as Vice-President of the United States, he knows what it takes to encourage job creation through free enterprise and tax reform and what it takes to keep America safe, which he will do by keeping our military strong and modernizing it and by staying on offense against radical Islamic terrorists until we get total victory against them. He will be an exceptional President and that's why I trust him for the top job and I hope you will.

Thank you. God bless you and God bless America.

-Vice-President Rubio holds a bilateral rally in Miami, Florida along with with Colorado Governor Jared Polis whom the Vice-President thanked for Colorado's contributions to help Florida and other states recover from the damages caused by Hurricane Derrick :

Source : https://www.rubio.senate.gov/public/
Rubio : Hurricane Derrick has been very devastating for all states hit by this tragedy. We need to put partisanship aside and work together as Americans in order to repair the damages caused by this hurricane. Together, we want to say thank you to our courageous National Guard, state police, citizens and other organizations contributing to the reconstruction and helping the victims of this disaster. And together, we want to thank all other states for their contributions to the recover of places hit by Hurricane Derrick, including my home state of Florida that I love so much just like all other states. Every time Florida has been hit by hurricane, all the people of America has been there to help. We are all Floridians, we are all Americans. So, despite our political differences, I want to thank Governor Polis for Colorado's $75 million contribution for the reconstruction of areas that Derrick destroyed and we are proud to accept these donations. Because regardless of our political affiliations, we are the United States of America. Thank you, God bless you all and God bless the United States of America.

Source : https://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/politics/colorado-governor-jared-polis-denounces-trumps-emergency-declaration
Polis : Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, no matter what you are, we are all Americans. When something like this happens, we stand as one, no matter our political affiliations. The devestation wrought by this hurricane has warranted a response from those of us in position to provide help. I therefore make this donation of $75 million freely and of my own accord.

I have faith that the money will be spent logically and fairly. I understand for the Vice President this is a difficult time, as it is his own home state that has been affectd by this disaster. But yet again, times like these remind us that we are not merely Democrats or Republicans, but Americans. Thank you and God bless these United States!

Ivan Rodriguez campaigns on his peace plan in New Hampshire

I have massive respect for Vice President Rubio but he is wrong when it comes to foreign policy.

We need to focus on bringing our soldiers back home rather than talking about where they should go next.  As President in my 100 days I plan to bring all the remaining troops in the Middle East back home and make sure they get good paying civilian jobs and good veterans benefits when working.

We need to fund studies to make sure what type of therapy works for veterans that have PTSD and other horrific views they have had during their experiences overseas.

We are going to do this for veterans of other wars such as the first Gulf War and the Vietnam veterans who still decades later still have the same horrific visions and nightmares.  We need to fix the broken still to this day VA system and take that money we fund wars with and fix it on the VA and green energy and help fund Scientific programs for our future and last of all fixing Medicare and socialist security!

This is not a character attack on Rubio just a rebuttal to how we should treat our veterans in the future!
