I don't even want to think about it. One of the few bright sides to living in our current near-dystopia is that we aren't in the situation that the United Kingdom is in.

1971 "Nicholas and Alexandra":

Nicholas to Count Witte: "Don't tell me about London and Berlin, God save us from the mess they're in".

Does it say something that we find ourselves in a position to say the same basic sentiment as that portrayed in a movie almost 50 years old about from a time 65 years before that, expressed by an autocratic despot, and likewise from the perspective of a less than stellar position ourselves.

It's a sort of  a reverse "hold my beer".

He'd probably No Deal every time the EU threatened him with a bad deal until they gave him a great deal or just no deal (a good deal)

How on Earth is no deal a good deal?

Because Trump would say so and it is the most romanticized outcome by the broader alt-right appeal.
