S019 312, Yellowhammer 223, Left wing Democrat 3.

The insurgent Left wing Democratic campaign is very controversial indeed as a potential spoiler for a confederate sympathizer and does flip Iowa in the end for Yellowhammer. Ohio is defended by Badger and the, uh, Not Yellow wall stays strong in the upper midwest despite decent populist Democratic performances. I used a green-yellow color scheme because this is the sort of matchup that demands something other than red-blue, although purple-yellow would also be appropriate.

Yellowhammer tried to run a moderate general campaign and tried to sweep his controversial views under the rug. He was also a far better debater than his robotic and out of touch opponent. But he was exposed as a Confederate sympathizer, and a scare about right wing extremism prompted his downfall.
