I should think that the vetting of Secret Service agents is as strong, or stronger, than any other service in the US.  If it weren't we would have had several more dead presidents by now.

I am reminded about how I read that from the late 19th century through the end of WWII, many generals and admirals did not vote.  They assiduously avoided party politics.

Even if they have political leanings beyond being pro-USA, they aren't foaming at the mouth partisans like...like...the denizens of Atlas.

That's the bigger risk because there'd be ego involved. If he gets reelected and does 8 year I think he'll probably leave like a normal President but I could see him pulling something if he loses. He could claim there was massive election fraud from illegals and the deep state and his whole base would believe it.
