It was an article of faith that if Romney won, Republicans would win the seats necessary to retake control of the Senate due to the map (Democrats were defending more seats and defending them in hostile territory). However, Republican Senate candidates ended up running even worse campaigns than Romney.
Romney wins the election, and his victory allows Republicans to take North Dakota and Montana while holding on to Indiana. This still leaves the Democrats with a 52-48 majority.
What happens? Can Romney get anything done? How do the 2014 elections play out?
