Imagine if Bernie had said something like "McCain has a lifetime of experience and Obama gave a speech in 2002."

Is there anyone or anything remaining that she hasn't blamed for her loss? Presumably most mirrors?

Does the fact that there is a much higher post frequency on the Bernie megathread than on the other candidates' megathreads mean that Bernie is going to win?

Dead megathread = sign of a dead campaign? For example, a few days before the Iowa caucuses, no new post in the Buttigieg megathread in roughly 24 hours.

Another great in-kind donation to the campaign. Thank you Hillary!

Seriously. A bit less than 50% of Dem primary voters in 2016 voted for Bernie. Every time this sort of nonsense with these same old attacks re-surfaces, I would think it solidifies those voters back towards Bernie. At least, that is how it has seemed to me as someone who voted for Bernie in 2016, but who has been trying to keep an open mind, but has been getting more and more firmly into Bernie's corner.

This lady is getting a lot of crap online, but the article is not bad.

It's isn't so much bad as lazy and likely dinsingenuous.

By the author's standards, Joe Rogan's (unsourced) unsavoury takes during a show mean that anything he does or anyone he supports is contaminated.
No matter whether he very largely supports the Dem line while retaining a broad personal appeal with independants, which makes him a powerful messenger in times of crisis.

That's the definition of a purity test on trans communication rules, which we definitely do not need in 2020. We can nail the particulars of pronouns and sports after the party of Gropy Old Prevaricators are kicked out.
Either she forgets that another Dem loss means SCOTUS becomes another gay-bashing conservative court until 2040, or, ALTERNATIVELY, she was told to find an excuse to slander Sanders. Who knows.

What's more, I'd like to see the context of that Rogan quote about women and men being unequal in intelligence. I'll bet the author has completed twisted its meaning.

Can't believe Bernie Sanders literally stuffed ballot boxes all over Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania and then personally beat up scores of democratic voters on their way to the polls while calling them "establishment hacks". He must be stopped before he jumps out of a corner and punches me in the face!

Well, he did visit Wisconsin in the fall of 2016, unlike Hillary.

I do love how after all the crap Bernie supporters get about having to support the nominee no matter who that the minute Bernie gained momentum that love was really given back by the same figures. I mean Hillary gives Bernie crap for not uniting the party well how is trashing Bernie in really unfair and rude ways on the eve of the Iowa caucus any good?

Seems like the progressives here have all rallied behind Sanders while the centrists are just waiting to see which moderate makes it out of Iowa so they can rally around them.

Gotta beat the perpetually outraged to the punch by posting this first, in the hopes we avoid a bunch of concern-trolling, faux outrage and silly posturing.

Lmao resistance/lib twitter is in an uproar over this. It's ok for Hilary to dish it out, but the minute she takes some its a war crime (something Hilary would know about, surely).

Regardless of what you think of this whole situation, based on my observations it appears that Tlaib situation from last night is getting a lot more publicity than the Clinton comments are getting or got.

I just don't see an appreciable number of voters giving a sh**t about this sort of thing- certainly not any voters who had a chance of supporting Sanders in the first place.

Hillary's statements reflect incredibly poorly on her as an individual, and hopefully everybody in Democratic politics has had their opinion of her lowered in the last month. But Hillary's not running for President.

Tlaib's comments are outrageous because it suggests that members of the Sanders movement are going to be much more interested in antagonizing and scoring points against allies they have disagreements rather than reconciling and finding consensus. Is Tlaib going to sit on stage and ask strangers to boo Joe Manchin and 15 other Senators who demure M4A or a GND, or is she going to work with these people to get three quarters of a loaf?

Neither side looks good in this disgraceful episode but you can't look at this and say it bodes well for Democratic politics under a Sanders administration.

Boooooooooooo Hillary was asked about Sanders in an interview and gave an honest response Boooooooooooo

Funny thing is you guys have been bashing Hillary as a liar for years and now you're like Boooooo why didn't she lie and say she loved Sanders Booooooo she should have lied

Hillary is completely, 100% right of course.  See this thread
https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=354294.0

but self-reflection is hard and bashing Clinton is super easy.  And the entire point of Sanders campaign is to appeal to people who want the easiest answer to every problem.

This is what a healthy campaign looks like, by the way.  Leading the crowd in booing the party's previous nominee, descending into screeching madness at the sight of normal DNC bureaucrats being on the rules committee, launching accusations of a "rigged election" because they removed the donor requirement for the debate.

The Democratic Party is going to be fractured regardless of who's nominated or elected president.  It's just catching up with the GOP now.

Quote from: Ayanna Pressley (2016)
It really does agitate me, I don't know if there was some secret meeting of progressives that determined what defines a progressive. And I'm really tired of people sort of trying to mansplain to me what that is.

I am an unapologetic progressive. I know what a progressive looks like, and what they do. And you cannot do in three days, or thirty days, what Secretary Clinton has done for thirty years. She is a progressive.

is she officially kicked out of the squad yet?
