He could have just publicly demanded it first. Oh right. There was already an investigation by his goon and the Ukrainian Government. So maybe he just gets off the hook again because the prospective conspirators either didn't actually have anything to give him or only refused because they though that though they aligned that he would just get in the way.

The first investigation was shut down by Biden. He was on video saying he threatened to withhold a billion dollars in loans to Ukraine unless they got rid of the prosecutor.

Does anyone on here actually believe that Hunter Biden got a high paying job with a Ukrainian Gas Company, even though he had no experience and didn't speak the language, and while the US was providing money to their country and his father was the Vice President at the time, without any sort of corruption going on? Come on. And how am I just hearing about this Hunter Biden thing now, where was the media on this? You'd expect this sort of thing to have been a big deal back when he got the job, so where are the videos of Rachel Maddow or Wolf Blitzer doing stories on it back then?

I think the Watergate burglary itself didn't break Nixon's neck, since it was never proven that he knew of it or authorized it beforehand. It was rather the cover-up and attempts to impede the investigation into Watergate. That being said, this whole Ukraine business could very well lead to an obstruction of justice charge against Trump in the future if he loses his cool and starts to go down Nixon's path. Maybe that's what Pelosi is even hoping for. Rattle Trump's cage with the Ukraine probe until he does something really stupid.

Socialist Kenyan would make a great ironic indie band name.

He did that already with the Russia investigation. I think the difference here is that it's easier to understand.

C -- far worse because it threatens national security and makes a mess of foreign policy. This is in league with espionage as damage.

Would Harding have been impeached for the Teapot Dome scandal? Maybe -- but it broke after his death.

The Watergate burglary seems to have been a criminal violation egregiously wrong yet doing no obvious damage to any people at whom it was intended to hurt.

This is incredibly bad. Foreign policy is not rightly done for partisan advantage.

Only because it failed.

I would say a burglary on US soil attempting to bug the opposition party is a little worse than Trump-Ukraine just because it happened here and had bigger implications than just dirt on one person. If Trump was complicit in the DNC hack that would be worse than Watergate.

First of all, there is no possible corruption, this entire 'scandal' is absurd. Secondly, even if there were, it is extremely inappropriate and an abuse of power for Trump to pressure a foreign government into investigating it, especially given the context it is effectively foreign interference in US elections.

The funniest part of this is the ignorance that communists are usually atheists, so you can't be a real commie and Muslim at the same time.
