Here’s a question:

Will black voters in SC be paying attention to the Iowa and NH results?

I don't understand it either. I think he needs to spend a good part of the next debate (outside of the impeachment sections) talking about his Douglass Plan, or at least do some ad buys where he plugs it in SC. Try to make headways, don't just throw out SC because he won't be able to win.

I also find it shocking that Black voters aren't attracted to a mayor who made gentrification one of his central policies, and who fired his city's first black police chief.

Yeah.... black people remain behind the old white dude.

They are, but the margin matters.  It isn't clear whether a 20 point victory in SC (which could be lower by the time the primary gets here) and other southern states could make up for inevitable losses in less favorable regions.

The reasons are fairly obvious.

If Biden wins SC by "only" 20 while Warren wins CA by 9, I'd call her the favorite to win the nomination. But these are just October polls. Still many debates and culling of the field left to go.

It's interesting to see Warren winning among white voters here, since we're not exactly talking about San Francisco/Seattle whites. She'll want better numbers among black voters, though obviously it's not the case that Biden is about to get Clinton '16 numbers among black voters.

Honestly, with talk of how Harris is "over", this isn't bad for her. She's in 2nd place still among blacks here, and if Biden starts to fall, she has room to gain.
