For simplicity's sake (because Belgian elections are a mess, sorry), I'll use Kansas since you asked if you were a good fit for the state on another thread.

Running as an Independent without a Democratic opponent like Orman did in 2014 you might either win 50-49 or lose 50-48 in a 2018-like environment as a non-incumbent.
