Since this is an internal, let alone Tuberville's, it's practically worthless. We should all operate under the presumption that Roy Moore winning (& actually becoming a Senator this time with presidential-level turnout) is a real possibility.

It’s not the first poll showing Moore losing badly, so I don’t see why we should dismiss it.

Atlas thinking Moore was the frontrunner is pretty dumb. The pedophilia might not hurt Moore a lot in the primary but him losing the Senate race definitely will. I highly doubt him or Kobach are nominated.

Retreads rarely do well, Moore's primary victories in 2017 were actually pretty underwhelming (considering Big Luther's various corruption scandals), and he'll be 73 on election day, which is pretty old to be starting a career in the U.S. Senate, especially in a state like Alabama which likes to re-elect its senators for as long as they can so that they can farm pork.

So you would have liked to see Moore costing the Republicans this seat again? That’s not sad. What is sad is that because of Moore, we have to invest in a red state we may not have needed to focus on had Luther Strange been the senate nominee in 2017.

Kobach might get the nomination if the Republican field is divided enough due to the extent of his cult following being enough for a strong floor of 30%, though Roy Moore is going to get blocked by the fact that Alabama has primary runoffs regardless.

Moore never had a chance in hell of winning this time, but it's sad to see empty suit Tuberville doing so well.

What is so objectionable about Tuberville? I take it that you prefer Bradley Byrne.

I wonder if we will see a noticeable divide in the map between places that are majority-Auburn fans and places that are majority-Alabama fans?  Because, I could see some people taking that rivalry seriously enough that it could influence their vote when a former Auburn coach is on the ballot.

Tubberville will clearly win this election. Hes a non politician and former football coach, Roy Moore is hated in this state now by far too many people to even get the nomination; let alone that the Republican party will even allow Roy Moore to get the nomination. Trump will come down to Alabama and will endorse Tubberville giving him the nomination basically. No way Doug wins this election.

Would Trump take that risk? The last time he intervened in Alabama, it didn't go well.

Luther Strange was too much of a shady character had a lot of scandals, Roy was just awful, Alabama simply did not like the Republican options of the special election, which is why many voted for Doug Jones. Its very different this time, far better candidates.

Btw do you think Doug Jones could win Tuscaloosa county against Tuberville. again?

At this point, Tuberville is probably the favorite, and this race is honestly Safe R without Roy Moore, this is Alabama in a Presidential year, where their emperor will be on the ballot. Even with Moore, I’d call Jones an underdog, but he obviously has a much better shot with Moore. If Moore continues to struggle, I honestly don’t see why this can’t be called Safe R. It will be interesting to see if Democrats burn more or less money here than Republicans burn in Colorado, this cycle has two races, that honestly should be very close to be triaged, and Alabama should 100% be triaged if Moore does not win the nomination.

It seems hard, I mean last year the county barely voted for the democratic gubernatorial candidate who happened to be the popular mayor of Tuscaloosa.

Trump would've been fine with Moore's pedophilia, but Roy committed the unforgivable sin of being a loser, which means Donald won't be helping him this time.

And who won the County by just 1 vote.
There were actually 2 Counties in the 2018 Governor Elections where a home County Dem won the County by 1 vote. Alabama and Oklahoma.
