Didn't they just poll like last week? Why release a poll just before the debates instead of after it?

Sanders staying in the race is the best thing Biden could've asked for; he'd be close to double digits down if Warren got the bulk of his support

Harris is really wasting her time at this point. I know she’s not out of money but yeah Biden and Warren have different segments of her planned coalition locked up. She’s toast.

Probably because of the impeachement question.

Ugh, maybe the heart attack did hurt Bernie afterall.

How could he be at 7% with whites and 5% with blacks and 11% overall though? He'd have to be doing ridiculously well with Hispanics.

There's no evidence that she would. Biden is the top second choice of his supporters.

On the other hand, that's been the case throughout Sanders's long, slow slide in support, despite the fact that the vast majority of Sanders's loss in support has (ultimately, in some cases through other candidates) benefited Warren. It continues to be the case that a large portion of Sanders supporters, especially of the Sanders-Biden variety (and also vice versa on the Biden side, especially the Biden-Sanders variety), are not paying much attention and are only minimally aware of the existence of candidates other than Sanders and Biden, the only two candidates with household names before the race. So the professed second choices of Sanders (and Biden) voters in polling should continue to not be taken especially seriously.

To be fair, FiveThirtyEight's new article shows that the evidence of who Sanders supporters' 2nd choice is is quite mixed. Morning Consult seems to be one of the few pollsters that Biden is in the lead among Sanders voters.

The best case for Warren if Sanders dropped out is it would be something of a wash, it's not like 90% of his support is going to magically transfer over to her.

Maybe if he endorsed her it would.

It's important that Warren seems to be making gains among black voters. This is critical to narrowing Biden's margins in the South. And it definitely doesn't look good for Sanders, though I'm not sure how much his heart operation has to do with that.

Do you... Do you think that’s gonna get BETTER for him as he gets even older?
