This is a Hillary state that Trump called "a drug-infested den."  Likely D and that's me being generous to Trump.

Lean D seems about right. Probably the most likely Clinton state to flip, though that's not saying a great deal.

As if anyone is going to remember that. Trump publicly called the people of Iowa stupid and they still supported him in a landslide.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but could you cite re: the Iowa comment?  I remember he was pretty quiet the night he lost the caucus.  As for New Hampshire, that's something voters can be reminded of in an ad or two if necessary.  In any event, Trump ain't winning New Hampshire either way and the Democrats probably won't need to do more than just make sure they don't completely blow off the state for the whole cycle like Hillary did with Michigan.

Tossup/tilt D. I'm slowly growing more confident that it will be lean D in the end, but I'm not there yet.

Funny how then-presidential candidate Trump (R) can get away with that, and yet when a random poster (D) on US Election Atlas dot org suggests that some white people from rural Kentucky or West Virginia are racist and/or stupid, it's an unspeakable hate crime.

Lean/Likely D. Trump not only *should* have won it in 2016 if it really was the true Tossup people are making it out to be, he’s also incredibly unpopular in the state. NH Republicans are reliant on the kind of exurban/suburban voter who hasn’t been very kind to Trump (or other Republicans, for that matter—Ayotte's loss can be attributed to an undeperformance in Rockingham and Hillsborough Counties as well), and evidence for a surge in Republican support in the state's rural areas (many of which resemble VT, a state which definitely seems to have trended away from Trump) is pretty much non-existent. I think NH votes to the left of ME, and just because it was close in 2016 doesn’t mean there’s a plausible path to victory for Republicans here or that the state is a pure Tossup (same goes for states like NV or MN).

I generally agree with your post. A big part of NH is composed of suburbs/exurbs of Boston and these areas are not particularly friendly to Trump ; it’s the main reason why he lost it in 2016 and will likely lose it again next year.
