GOP source: Diplomat's testimony "points to quid pro quo."
From CNN's Jamie Gangel

Republican sources claim diplomat Bill Taylor's testimony was a game changer and is "reverberating" up on Capitol Hill.
And according to one GOP source, Taylor's testimony "points to quid pro quo."

More context: Taylor testified Tuesday that he had been told President Trump would withhold military aid to the country until it publicly declared investigations would be launched that could help his reelection chances — including into former Vice President Joe Biden, according to a copy of Taylor's opening statement obtained by CNN.

The Atlantic:
Quote
Trump’s mantra has been that his call with his Ukrainian counterpart was “perfect.” But some Republicans believe that the one-word defense is inadequate. They want a credible, substantive explanation of what happened that they can relay to voters. So far, there’s been none.

...Until this point, the White House has seemed confident that Trump’s Republican support in the Senate is a firewall that will ultimately prevent his removal from office. Should the House impeach Trump, the Republican-controlled Senate would hold a trial. Twenty Republicans would need to join with Democrats to force the president out. Under ordinary circumstances, that threshold would be impossible to meet. But nothing about this situation is ordinary.

The impeachment inquiry started one month ago, and it's hard for me to imagine how the last month could have gone much worse for the Trump administration. We haven't yet seen major defections in Congress, but many Republicans are clearly worried about the politics of the situation and/or are genuinely upset by Trump's actions. With that said, I'm a little disappointed that all these revelations haven't made even a small dent in his approval rating so far.

8 Republican senators have not signed on to Graham's disapproval resolution.

Also I have to imagine Senate Democrats will filibuster this.

Forty-four US Senators have chosen partisanship over their country.

Corruption, vulnerability to blackmail, and the selling-out of America's allies isn't conservative; it is simply indefensible and wrong.

I guess McSally still hasn't learned that hugging Trump until the end is probably not a good strategy.

The biggest problem isn't even Mr. Trump, it's his ignorant base and congressional enablers, who can't put country over shortterm political gain.

And Gabbard as now come out against the closed door nature of the impeachment inquiry.

Quote from: newsweek
Speaking to Sean Hannity about the impeachment inquiry on Fox News last night, Gabbard strayed from her colleagues.

"I think it needs to be a transparent process," she said. "I have long expressed my concern about going through impeachment proceedings in a very, very partisan way because it will only tear apart an already divided country."

Gabbard clarified that she supported the launch of the impeachment inquiry, adding: "I think that inquiry needs to be done in a very narrowly focused way and it must be done transparently.

"I don't know what's going on in those closed doors, we as members of Congress don't have access to the information that is being shared, and I think that the American people deserve to know exactly what the facts are... as this inquiry goes on."

She really needs to just join the Republican party already.

What the heck is Gabbard doing

She keeps going on Tucker and Hannity to push GOP talking points
I don't know Who she is trying to appeal to other than the republicans who would never vote for her in the first place. She pulled this same stunt with Obama in 2015 and she went on fox news just attack him for refusing to use the term “radical Islam”. She did not even support impeachment inquiry at first ( she once again went on fox just to announced that) despite that fact that even Dems in red states that Trump won supported the inquiry

At this point she is making even Joe manchin look more liberal by comparison
even he quickly backed the impeachment inquiry before she did and unlike Gabbard he is not doing on fox news to attack the impeachment inquiry

I don't know what is going on with her but it becoming very clear to me that she to be moving away from the Dem party. Don't be surprised when you see her at a future GOP convention giving the
"I did not leave the dems the dems left me" speech

Turns out the graph probably puts her too far to the left. I still accept my accolades.

So, get prepared for Mr. Trump to go after another former employee of his. The WH and Trump enablers will do everything to discredit Bolton big league, slam him as liar, scumbag and so on. Can't believe I'm actually arguing in Bolton's favor, who was one of the most horrible policy makers of the past 15 years. But even he knew Ukraine was pure corruption and abuse of power by Mr. Trump to save his job.

If you told me that John Bolton would be the guy to bring down Trump I'd say to you to lay off the crack.
