- You have a very divisive issue dominating the campaign : Iraq in 2005 and Brexit now.

- The Incumbent party is being saved due to the fact that the opposition party's leader is very unpopular

- The Liberal Democrats are surging in part due to taking a a clear and concise side on the very divisive issue : Being opposed to the Iraq War, supporting canceling Brexit

Howard isn't comparable to Corbyn, I don't know where you got that one from.

And I think Blair in 2005 was more popular than Johnson today.

I agree with the rest though.

Nope, 2005 was post-Iraq and Blair's popularity was sinking fast.

(and he did know this, hence his "masochism strategy" during the campaign)
