KY:

https://results.enr.clarityelections.com/KY/97213/web/#/summary

MS:

(MS doesn't have an official results page, because their election reporting is stuck in the 18th or 19th century ...)

Is it too late to say I wouldn't be shocked if Beshear ends up winning or if it's closer than most expect? For all the time for pollsters to go AWOL...

Considering the expected volume of traffic and just general posts, I suggest we keep the official chatter to the "Bevin vs Beshear," "Jim in the Hood," and the pinned VA leg thread. this should just be for official projections and any other notable race that is outside of said states. For example I think the potentially competitive TX state house special election is an excellent election for this thread.

I'll be posting the maps according to where everything stands at 10 PM, which is the midpoint for nationwide elections, and if it's still the midpoint this time, than everything really is down to the wire.

It's unfortunate that the NYT is paywalling it.

One precinct, but it looks like good odds that Elliot will remain Democratic at the state level.

Earliest results on the NYT has Bevin up with a small number of votes from three rural counties: Elliott, Laurel and Johnson. Beshear is over 70% in Elliott County, though. Earliest results on DDHQ has Beshear up, with votes only from Floyd County.

And earliest from CNN has Beshear slightly up with 4 counties, everyone are getting votes in different way

Beshear definitely doing well in the earliest results. Some comparisons to 2016:

Elliott: Clinton 26%, Beshear 72% (+46)
Johnson: Clinton 13%, Beshear 40% (+27)
Laurel: Clinton 14%, Beshear 33% (+19)

Is it enough?

Let's wait until we have more than 200 votes in before jumping to conclusions.

IIRC Kentucky has a counting advantage for Democrats in early results, so it's probably too early to draw much of a conclusion at this point beyond "Beshear will outperform Clinton."

I wouldn't compare anything until the full vote is in for them areas.

Bevin isn’t getting the numbers he needs out of rural KY, not even close. It’s really not looking good for him.

All counties reporting so far have Bevin going.worse than a uniform die swing for Hillary.

One interesting thing so far: Beshear is vastly improved from Hillary Clinton or even Obama numbers in eastern Kentucky thus far, but he's still far behind where, say, Bill Clinton was winning the state in 1996. On the other hand, Beshear is doing better in the traditionally Republican areas in south-central Kentucky than Bill Clinton ever did (for example, Bill Clinton got 28% of the vote in Laurel County in 1996). Even more of a sign that the traditional breakdowns in Kentucky are completely done.

CNN has much more votes

Bevin 4519

Beshear 4,304

Also, first results from Franklin show Bevin at 29, he won 35 in 2015, but still very early

Looks like Beshear won the Oldham county early vote.
