JBE and Bevin both losing reelection would be an astonishing result, but I guess it can’t be ruled out.

LA is more polarized then KY but I doubt it would happen.

The only bad thing about this win in KY is now a lot liberal are going to waste money against McConnell.

To quote Klobuchar:

"Every Race, Every Place"

Not a bad thing to contest races everywhere.

Gubernatorial races are very different than Senate races, as it will be much more dominated by national issues and also unlike this election will be held during a Presidential year

Whereabouts are IceSpear/TrendsAreReal/etc? Guess trends aren't real anymore, huh?

He posted this lol:

I haven't read this thread yet, but since I'm sure at least one person asked where I was, I was at work. Some of us who don't live in Owsley County have to work for a living. Wink

Anyway, I'm of course glad to be wrong and will happily eat crow/eggs. But at least I share embarrassment with all the people who thought Beshear would win in a landslide and actually believed that Targoz poll, lol.

I think tonight shows us that Democrats can still win in the shallow south (KY) but are pretty much cooked in the deep south (MS). That could make JBE worried as LA is a much more deep south state.

The MS results are good news for Bel Edwards, MS is far more of a polarizing state than LA is and Bel Edwards does have incumbency advantage.

"Bevin....never heard of the guy"

CNN literally said this is not a loss for Trump but for Trumpism so that headline is wrong lol

In other news, Kshama Sawant is down 45.8 - 54.2 in her city council race.  Would be a real shame if Amazon succeeded in buying the election for her opponent.

great news

Thinking about it, Beshear should have put this Bevin douche away into the history books by at least a 10-point margin under normal circumstances.

A 0.2 point win is nothing to be really happy about, considering how big of a moron Bevin is.

Yet Austrian media is spinning it as a „fantastic night“ for the Dems and how „weak“ Trump is right now because of KY and the 0.2% loss there.

They have no clue.

Why is the Austrian media reporting on a governor election of a small US state.

Probably cause Trump idiotically made the election a referendum on himself .

If Edwards beats Rispone by at least 43.000 votes next week, then Democrats got a combined plurality of votes for the first time since 1991 in those 3 states:

ca. 49% D
ca. 49% R

https://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/national.php?year=2019&off=5&f=1

If Edwards wins big, a majority with 50%+ is also possible.

Wait they didnt get a plurality in those 3 states in 1999
