Liberal and conservative are not opposites, Hashemite.  The opposite of conservative is radical and the opposite of liberal is statist.  I'll grant that in the strange land known as the United States that the statists are strangely called "liberal", but thta's an accident of American political history.  I'm proud to be a liberal conservative, and that's why I founded the Liberal Conservative Party.

[/quote]No idea who they are. Still, "liberal" derives from "freedom", and "conservative" derives from "keeping as is", hence their opposites would be policies, respectively, of unfreedom and of change as a value in itself.

The opposite of radical is, of course, "superficial". The closest thing to an opposite of statist that I can think of is "acratic", although it really makes no sense to describe any political ideology whatsoever as non-statist since they're all about HOW the state should be run - that's part of the definition really.

Remind me next time to actually check the voter roll before making such declarations. Josh is of course entitled to vote, simply because he never was off the roll in the first place though he missed the last two elections. He will be alerted by pm.
