What, you mean how we voted to ban you from the party? You're not wanted.
Of course he isn't wanted, but he's only banned from holding a leadership position or being endorsed.

I won't be pursuing any party offices, and if I win elective office, it won't be on the back of a party endorsement.

Why are you guys so hard on the chap?  I don't really get it. Seriously.

Blame for turning the PLP, one of Atlasia's older political parties, into the electoral equivalent of Chernobyl circa 1987.

Actually, I'd blame Sensei for that.

No actually Sensei was the Chairman of the party for the largest period of growth in its history.  However once you were elected to VC people started leaving.

My point exactly. I won't go into details at this hour, but I'll just say that you were a part of it.

I did leave the party at a point which it was salvageable, but the reputation of the party was severely damaged and new members were being repelled by the "annoying 13 year old wing" of the party, anchored by Xahar.

I can only think of one instance where that actually happened. And that was BRTD. But when you left, your followers (yes, HappyWarrior, that means you) decided to pick up and leave, for reasons of which I am not entirely clear.

There were people who joined, but left quickly like Speed and Rocky, and countless others who may have considered joining but decided against it.

Speedy's always been a loose cannon, and I wouldn't have him any other way. Rocky's a good friend of mine. If you ask either of them why they left, it's not because of the reasons you menntioned. And what are these "countless members"? The PLP was pretty maxed out in terms of potential membership at that point.

Cheesy

As an aside to those squabbling over their respective party memberships - the wonderfullness of one's respective members is one thing, but I note that little is being mentioned of any party's particular achievements in getting anything in particular done (rather than getting anyone elected...which in case it hasn't noticed are often remarkably unrelated in Atlasia).

I've gotten more done than most people who have held elective office. I'll say that much.

game reform, Xahar, game reform.

And you can do that with two ideologically coherent parties, one for the right and one for the left.

In that case, we could try to convince some of our more right-wing posters to get together & form a conservative party. The NLC could stand as the moderate party. The JCP & the SDP would fight it out for the title of the liberal party. Sounds like a plan to me.

Yep. That would be great. Now if we could just get some conservatives...

The problem is there are not enough conservatives left in Atlasia to make a conservative party that could have any success, except perhaps in the Southeast if the turnout was right.  That is why the AUB is great, it has a lot of conservatives and a lot of liberals all working toward one goal.

Why not have two parties with different political goals but a common game-related goal?

No, that is in no way what we want to do.  Again, out of the 11 members we had (some have gone I believe) 10 held office.  Obviously we know what we are doing, so far Xahar you are yet to hold office or stop your parties from crashing into the ground.  The fact we are doing the exact opposite of what you say is probably a good idea.  I like you man, but seriously, chill out, you do your thing we'll do ours.

Holding office isn't a great accomplishment. At my count, there are 31 different offices in Atlasia. That means well over a quarter of all Atlasians (and the majority of active Atlasians) hold office. I think it's fair to say that I would've in any other region. As for parties, the PLP suffered from the fact that I didn't control it, but people thought I did: quite possibly the worst of all scenarios. I'm just trying to make Atlasia a better place.

Well you should be. We are a big tent but we are a big tent that mostly agrees on policy, or general ideology if you will.

I am constantly amazed at how coherent the NLC manages to be, despite the vast hugeness.

I will say that NLC has turned into Atlasia's United Russia, the only difference is that Sensei, Xahar, and Earl haven't been killed in "horrific accidents" that we are "truly sorry for" yet.

That discrepancy would've been rectified if you had had your way...
