Here is the video from his kickoff speech (I wonder whether no applause was permitted?). I think he has definitely "presidential" style and seems mentally in great shape for his age. He lacks some charisma, but would certainly be a very competent chief executive of high integrity.

Put out what probably is a pretty powerful ad that works for the casual voter and who doesn't know his real history. Saw it a few days ago in primetime.

I went to the car dealership today for service. They had a local ABC affiliate on and in the 2 hours I was there, I saw about 5 Bloomberg 2020 TV ads. This was during "Live with Kelly and Ryan" and "The View" so not some random syndicated reruns either. I'm not sure how effective these ads are, but you can definitely tell Bloomberg is spending the big bucks to get his name out.

I've been seeing his ads all week, they're actually really good! These are the kinds of ads Biden should air during the primaries.

He still isn't going anywhere though. But he might have converted my mom, she seems to think he'd be a good candidate. She's wrong, of course.

Possibly, but he's getting into the race to prevent a Sanders (and to a lesser extent Warren) Presidency. Is he going to go for Joe directly and risk elevating them?

I think he's going to keep a low profile, spar with the left, and carefully watch Joe's health and be ready to pounce if need be. But right now, I'm not sure that'll happen.

No way. Biden's health/fitness is an ongoing concern, the other three leaders are massively flawed, and he has the money to propel himself into the conversation in a huge way. His wealth is an X-factor that's never really been tested in an election - he could spend Steyer's net worth on media buys and not notice it.
