I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but I've been wondering now that Deval Patrick has entered the 2020 race (obviously he's a little late), how would've he have done had he run against Hillary in 2016, announcing his run around the time Hillary did? There was some noise that he would run against Hillary as the primary establishment challenger. Lots of Obama allies would've likely joined his campaign team and the South would've likely become extremely competitive. I wouldn't see any reason why Bernie doesn't run in this scenario - maybe the establishment vote is split between Deval and Hillary, possibly leading to Bernie benefiting? Post maps if you want!

EDIT: If Deval does win the nomination, who does he choose as his running mate and how does he fare against Trump?

I agree, though MI may (barely) stay Democratic.
