We are in bizarro world.  Presidential elections still happen every four years, but the cycle is moved up two years starting in 1998.

With the impeachment battle raging President Clinton's poll numbers show high favorables for his job performance but low approvals for his character.  This leaves his Vice President, Al Gore, with a difficult duality to have to manage.  It also leaves Republicans what they hope is an opportunity to retake the White House.

Who is the Republican nominee?  Can Al Gore survive Bill Clinton's character shortcomings?  How would the candidates handle the impeachment issue on the trail?

The seventh in a series.
