was excellent - it was barely reported and when it was it wasn’t sensationalized. I strongly attribute school shootings to contagion and copy cat killers in which the media is directly responsible for. Great to see it not happen this time. The family members don’t need that, and I wish them the best in this healing process.

The talking gun made him do it, obviously.

It would have been reported on more by the fear mongerers and those with an agenda, but the shooter wasn't white enough and the gun wasn't scary looking enough.

The coverage was short and bare because we've become resigned to this as our reality. The previous posts in this thread, and Mitt Romney's Hair's apparent "celebration" of it in particular, backs that notion up.

School shootings and mass shootings in general make 2nd Amendment Republicans look INCREDIBLY bad, so the OP demands a safe space where media stories don't create criticism and then provides "reasons" why the safe space is "necessary".

Do you think those parents would be more traumatized by the media coverage, or by a world where there is no media coverage at all, and we all forget that there's an epidemic out there that needs solving, and then they get a phone call and it happened to their nieces and nephews at a school 50 miles down the road?
