Patty Murray will be 72 by the time her term expires in 2023. Who do you think will succeed her in the Senate?

I would love to see Jayapal as a Senator, but I think DelBene is more likely. I'm not even sure Jayapal is interested in running for Senate. Either way, I wouldn't be too sure that Murray is retiring in 2022, since I could see her serving another term.

I really do think that Jayapal would make a great senator.
She would represent her constituents well.

I'll say Habib because I think Jayapal is going to accumulate power in the House.

Murray is a lifer like Feinstein. She probably retires if she feels Feinstein will in 2024. They will base it on the Senate and the D majority.  If D have a lasting majority, they both will stick it out one more term, if it's an R majority,  they will retire.
