These economically liberal conservatives are just conservatives who have thrown in the towel on what their side has been promoting for decades. They see it isn't working. But the question is -- if economic liberalism is correct, why not go with the real thing? Why not let the people who have been right for decades lead? He sounds like a populist anti-immigration christian democrat at least, as opposed to the neoliberal establishment candidates. Lean hard towards HP. I like that he's staking out seemingly unorthodox positions within the GOP and look forward to new alliances around issues like antitrust. That said, I deeply doubt his sincerity. After all, he was a huge backer of the tax cuts on the campaign trail and fought for right-to-work-for-less in Missouri.
