HP, he's still a hack...if one that is more sufferable than Lindsey Graham or Rand Paul or Ted Cruz, and I dunno...I get some serious Nixonian vibes outta him.

Would he get my support over some Democrats? Maybe if it's a sorta Kirk v. Giannolous or Tim Scott v Alvin Greene sitch...but definitely not at the top ticket.

Honestly, McCaskill was much better, but he is fine for a Republican, I guess that's kind of a low bar, when not constantly shouting Fox News propaganda makes you good for your party, but I guess those are modern times.

OP, if you think he's an FF, you're not really a demsoc - you just base your opinions of politicians on feelings.

These economically liberal conservatives are just conservatives who have thrown in the towel on what their side has been promoting for decades. They see it isn't working. But the question is -- if economic liberalism is correct, why not go with the real thing? Why not let the people who have been right for decades lead? Choose the side that is winning the argument for once.

He's a pretty standard run of the mill Republican who makes statements that kind of go against traditional GOP orthodoxy but in reality mean nothing and he just votes the party line. HP.

Egotistical moron. Democrats and left-leaners who vote for him because of his statements need to realize that he is just another run-of-the-mill conservative, all things considered.

He may have the potential to become a Trump-like figure who is more competent than Trump is (in other words, his positions on the issues may be similar to those of Trump, but he acts more professionally than Trump usually does).

Which is why he'll probably not win a Republican primary.

If the Dems continue to nominate candidates like Clinton, Biden and so... i'll trust people like Hawley more to change things for the positive. He sounds like a populist anti-immigration christian democrat at least, as opposed to the neoliberal establishment candidates. In that occasion, i'd vote christian democrat, because traditions & values are worth something to me.

He literally votes the same on economic issues and the environment as every single republican, just says he's anti-business for the rhetoric.

The bar is low, but occassionally he doesn't.

Silicon Valley should take Josh Hawley’s big war on big tech seriously

I can't see either Biden, Bloomberg of Hillary doing that.

Probably one of the few GOP Senators that I can stand. This is an untimely answer of mine however as I haven't seen him stand out on some issues that I consider important to me.

Bold prediction: the 2024 GOP primary will be Josh Hawley vs Mike Pence vs Kanye West. West will win.

Lean hard towards HP. I like that he's staking out seemingly unorthodox positions within the GOP and look forward to new alliances around issues like antitrust. That said, I deeply doubt his sincerity. After all, he was a huge backer of the tax cuts on the campaign trail and fought for right-to-work-for-less in Missouri.

This

Hawley occasionally surprises me with FF statements, but you're deluded if you think if he's anything other than another slash and burn economics Republican.

He's an opportunistic hack who's posturing as an unconventional Republican because he has his eye on the presidency. It's sad seeing so many lefties buy into his shtick.
