Southern pop hop = garbage.   Wayne doesn't and can't rap he mumbles nonsense.

It's just good catchy music.  It's got no staying power or crazy impact, but it's fun to listen to.  It's insane to say that Wayne isn't amazing.

I've been trying to revamp my musical library by destroying it and building it up album by album rather than song by song. It's extremely difficult and time consuming, but also very fun. I've found myself mostly re-listening to albums I loved, which I don't oppose. Right now I'm all over the Squirrel Nut Zippers. That shet is outrageous. Buckwheat Zydeco is up next I think. I was also pleasantly surprised by Lupe Fiasco. I thought he would be terrible based on his popular songs, but now I'm just perplexed by his decision to release the songs he did as singles.

I'd imagine a great deal of dubstep you'd hear in the United States is the horrible 'brostep', courtesy of Skream and co.

Most of my dubstep exposure has been European, but you're right in general. Most of what I hear over here is absolutely terrible. Especially the dubstep remixes of Britney Spears and garbage like that. Over here dubstep basically means you take the worst snippets of overwhelmingly popular (aka terrible) pop songs and mutilate their already repetitive melodies into something with an equally overwhelming bass to create the ultimate brotastic disaster.

I'm on quite a commercial kick now...I heard the song from the Internet Explorer commercial and loved it, so I started trying out IE and was forced into Bing where I found Theophilus London and started listening to him. That then led me to Nicki Minaj's new songs. What a mess and a half...

All Around the World by Theophilus London
Too Close by Alex Clare
Starships by Nicki Minaj

This usually happens to me right before summer when all the big names try to get THE summer single. The only time they put out the fun, pointless stuff I like to hear from them.

I've been on a huge old-school kick lately. Tribe Called Quest, Pac, Ice Cube, Biz Markie (hahaha), Jay, Dre...and I've actually found some shtuff I haven't even heard yet! I'm very happy seeing as I was in one of those terrible music funks when nothing sounds good.

Not only do I like those songs, I have posted some of them in this thread.  Hell I think I tried to school you on this stuff awhile back when you in the southern pop hop (aka not hip hop) faze.

Lost Boys- Lifestyles of the Rich and Shameless

Pete Rock and CL Smooth- They Reminisce Over You

Common- I use to love H.E.R

I don't doubt that for a second! Since the summer I've been forcing myself to fix my music collection. I've been putting off listening to do many good albums for so long. Now I can't believe I've missed out on everything for so long.

Beez In The Trap by Nicki Minaj

Probably the brightest spot on a roller coaster of an album. Fantastic production and a sweet video.
