I took a screen cap and ran it through http://www.tineye.com/, and it appears to be from a 1969 Hungarian film called A tanú (English: The Witness).

Thanks rejectamenta!  I had never ehard of 'tineye'.

Grazhdanskaya Oborona - Bespolezen (1985) (Omsk, Russian SSR)
Grazhdanskaya Oborona - Hvatit!

I guess those last two are more artsy fartsy post-punk, but hey.

I quite liked those two, the other one not so much.

Smashing Pumpkins - "Quiet"

One of the most moving segments of any rock song I've ever heard starts at about 3:11 into the song. It is the sound of nostalgia embodied. The feeling comes from the light touch of Iha's guitar tones interplaying with the heavier drone of Wretsky's bass - a feeling not unlike the rose-colored nostalgia of the rest of the album. A lot of the time I simply skip back to that last section of the song and listen to it over and over again.

Armored Saint - "Hanging Judge"

One of the most underrated of the Bay Area thrashers. This song was on the Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth soundtrack. Bad movie, but great track.

Hehe, I just went back some 250 pages in this thread looking at this and that, inspired by a jmfcst question.  Here are some resurrections:

Jeffery Lewis - The gasman cometh
Epaksa - Arirang
Brausepöter - Bundeswehr (1981)

The last one was, if I remember rightly, the Neue Deutsche Welle song that really got me going on that 'familiar genres in foreign languages' kick.

By the way, does anyone know a way to go back 200 or 300 pages in a thread without clicking back through the pages five pages at a time as it allows you to do at the bottom?

Neo-Francoists are cute. "Hay que buscar la verdadera libertad" is a golden line considering it's coming from authoritarian Franco-loving nuts. And yeah, "no es posible de olvidar una historia", because history said your idol was an asshole. But it's a cool song, I listened to it when finishing my 10km race.

Really beautiful Ros Sereysothea there, flanked by some fine bossa nova.

Perrey & Kingsley - Computer In Love
Tom Dissevelt - Orbit Aurora
Hot Butter - Telstar (Tornados cover, the original is one of my favorite songs)

Just some neatish electronic music pioneering I missed during my last binge through the stuff.

Meas Soksophear - Chnam Oun 16 (I am 16/Sweet 16)
Ouk Sokunkanha - Chnam Oun 16
Bochan - Chnam Oun 16 (feat. Raashan Ahmad)

Ok the first two are excellent covers of one of the classics of Cambodian pop by the great Ros Sereysothea.  But I don't know what to make of the Bochan version.. seems ruined to me.
