Daisy by Brand New (from Long Island, NY, of course).  90% sure that I very much like it now most of the way through my second listen.

And if you just want the sample (well the instrumental version), that they used latter in Ocean's twelve:

Cheesy

In my high school French classes, the cultural lessons always mentioned MC Solaar.  Everyone always laughed when we imagined what rapping in French would sound like.

The beat on this song is kind of crazy.  I like it.

Yes, he has a good flow and some very decent beats, unlike a significant part of French rap for the beat, which it seems to me focus first on the lyrics than on the music, seems to me that it could be because of the heritage of the French songs/French realist songs that they would have unconsciously bought, when US rap music comes from an heritage which gives more place to the music than in France, well, just personal interpretations.

Of course, French flow in rap is not always as good Mc Solaar, you may have seen it on the song I posted just after, Thé à la menthe, but personally I find there are very good stuffs, well, from a French point of view...
