For Schumer, I would say white working-class and rural white voters primarily, along with moderate suburbanites and a large number of Orthodox Jews. Gillibrand relied more heavily upon suburbanites, given that she did worse Upstate than Schumer, but she obviously got a good number of rural and working-class voters as well. I'd imagine these voters went Democratic for Senate because they are familiar with their Senators and approve of their performance. I can only imagine what they are thinking now, with impeachment underway.

I've noticed this previously. Duckworth narrowly won ancestrally Democratic Gallatin County, which Trump carried with more than 70% of the vote. Another prominent example of this phenomenon is in Kentucky, where Jim Gray, who lost to Rand Paul by 14%, won Elliott County by a virtually similar margin, while Trump carried it with more than 70% against Clinton.

Even in my home state of Colorado, there were some Trump-Bennet voters. Bennet won Huerfano, Pueblo, Las Animas, and Conejos Counties, which Clinton lost to Trump, and generally outperformed Clinton throughout most of Colorado with the exception of a handful of white liberal dominated places-like Boulder, San Juan, and Pitkin Counties. Overall, Bennet received about 32,000 more votes than Clinton did.

This much is true. Sherrod Brown, in particular, won back Trumbull County by double digits, and took over 60% of the vote in Mahoning County. Hillary Clinton lost Trumbull to Trump by about eight points, and got only a narrow plurality in Mahoning.
