http://www.rasmussenreports.com/2006/State%20Polls/January%202006/Michigan%20Governor%20January%2015.htm

The last Rasmussen poll conducted on this race found Granholm at 48%, DeVos at 36%.

It appears significant that Granholm is not yet above 50% in the polls.  Meanwhile, 8% say they are undecided while 4% at this stage indicate they will vote for a different candidate.  60% of voters aged over 65 back Granholm.

DeVos is gaining ground but so is granholm. If she gets above 50 and stays there, then it is all over for Devos.

There is huge distaste for granholm in my part of the state and it is majority democrat. People do blame both granholm and bush for the bad economy, It is just that nobody knows of devos and democrats that do know him, do not like him. He could get the whole republican base behind him, but even that is not enough in this state. I guess he might get 46%-48% of the vote and granholm will get 51%-53%

really thats interesting, down here (wayne county) there is some dislike but I think once the election gets started people if forced to pick between Granholm and DeVos will pick Granholm.  Personally I just have a bad feeling about DeVos, i wish I could at least vote against him in a primary but all the other candidates dropped out.  Your right though the republican base will be behind him (they hate granhom) which should get him somwhat close, my guess 46-47%

It looks like a continue of the status quo in michigan for 2006 election. Except the state house could switch to a slim dem majority if they do good in the state.
