Should we discuss every country in the world, a length of time taking up 192 days?

Similar to Mitty's 50 states in 50 days intiative...

The list of countries will be based off the CIA WorldFactBook and will be in alphabetical order.

Day 1 will begin tommorow...

I get the 2 Congos confused, but one of them just had a war where 3 million people died.

Think of them as being used as a placeholder, just like how zero is used in math.

Well they would give time people to figure out what they would discuss in other threads.

Diamonds. There's also some type of metal that's a key component of cell phones and laptops that's mostly mined in Africa. Even without those I do find African countries interesting just due to the sheer insanity of some of their leaders (look at Mugabe)

Africa contributes a place for everyone else to look down on, okay? It contributes a place to think about when you're feeling sorry for yourself. :eyeroll:

You remove Nigeria, Angola and Gabon, and tomorrow the oil prices will jump through the roof - these are major producers (there are quite a few others). Don't they contribute something? And that's far from being the only think that Africa exports.

Nigeria, Ethiopia, Dem. Congo, Kenya, Cote D'Ivoire and Ghana contribute far, far more to the World than Botswana does.

Botswana is one of the world's largest diamond exporters.

Coltan, an ore rich in tantalum and niobium. Tantalum is the one used in mobile phones.

Care to enlighten us on which one you mean? East Timor, Vatican, West Bank, etc.?

I didn't know that. I thought it was mostly desert. Still, it only has like 2 million people, whereas the others I mentioned have tens of millions.

You should read my thread about my friend becoming the new Agriculture Minister of Liberia.  While you might not think those nations are important, to other people they are.  Smiley

The UN recognizes 192. The 191 UN member states plus the Vatican. However, since Taiwan is not recognized by the UN mostly just for political reasons, most people consider it the 193rd country. O/c he could have been referring to Palestine, Kosovo, Tibet, Western Sahara, Northern Cyprus, Somaliland, The Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Sealand, or any number of other semi-states.

I was referring to the fact that there ARE 193 countries. I have no idea which one he left out, but my assumption is Taiwan. The others you mentioned are not countries.
